    WELCOME! You are 60 miles from our house. We are fortunate to live in the Shenandoah Valley and 4 miles to the Blue Ridge Pkwy. AND the Skyline Drive.

    Oh my God, watching Madly suffer just broke my heart. Hopefully the vet specialist can do something for her. God should have made dogs that live just as long as the humans they love so much. I'm 71 years old. I hadn't had a dog since I was a young man because of work career, etc. Five years ago, and ten years into retirement, my wife and I got an miniature Australian Sheppard pup we named Gus following the loss of our son that occurred just a few months before. He has brought so much joy to our lives and helped us to heal. I can't imagine life without Gus. I pray Madly will get to enjoy much more time with her family. God bless you and yours.

    We were riding our motorcycle on Skyline Drive when a big black bear stepped out on the road. He didn’t care that we were there and turned back into the woods. About a hundred yards away a hiker came out of the woods and was heading back to the spot where the bear entered the woods. We were hollering and waving but the hiker just waved back at us as if to say hello and just kept walking! Love Virginia! We have a motorhome with a motorcycle lift and we can tow our Tracker with it, too. Safe travels and good luck with Madley.

    Poor Madly!! 😥 She just looks worn out after those episodes - here’s to a successful procedure at the PA vet. TJ, GREAT catch on the tire! You’ve reminded me to not only watch tire pressures but do an inspection at each campground. Two thumbs up! 👍👍 And what’s up with Brody and the koi fish??? 🤣🤣🤣

    The “purple trees’, which are actually more fuchsia in color, are indeed called Red Bud, but also Judas Trees, as they are in full bud around Passover/Easter weekend each year. Interestingly, their leaves are heart shaped. I live only 2 hours from Harrisonburg and the Shenandoah River, and have never seen the bluebells in bloom. Thanks for sharing. Hoping and praying that you’re having success with pup-dog’s treatment in Pennsylvania.

    • @harryjames7190
      @harryjames7190 3 года назад

      I figure the redbuds are great in the wild but like a weed in the yard once they have bloomed. They try and take over and are kind of ugly once the flower is gone.

    Oh poor pup... 4pm check in time is so late! Actually 1pm check out is late too 🙄 Nice Dove wrapper wording - my favorite one I have read is: Make “someday” today. Beautiful trail & those bluebells 😍 I would take advantage of that laundry too at that price.

    I haven't seen you guys in quite a while. Somehow the alert bell got un-dinged. I quickly changed that. In the beginning of the video I couldn't help but to remember how much TJ's looks remind of me of Kevin Costner. (That's how he worked the girls in the shack). Then later in the video you mentioned leaving Dances with Wolves on for Madly. Too funny. That is a great park. The rangers their are all really great to work with. Wish I knew you were in the area. You weren't too far from where I live. Would of bought you a beer or two or three........🍺🍺🍺😎
    I know by now you have had your appointment for madly. Hope it all went well. I am catching up on your videos. Keep up the great work. Have fun, stay safe and stay healthy!

    Another interesting video of the Shenandoah area. We traveled most of the trail a couple of years ago and loved it! Headed out to Durango ourselves Friday the on to Yellowstone with our nine year old granddaughter for her first visit out west and our forth to Yellowstone. Hope Madley does not have any more spells between now and her appointment and they can give her some relief. Save travels.

    I told you before about my springer that had that condition , I haven't wanted to say this because I know how much your pups mean to you two . My dog was very strong for 10 years old , the surgery was just too much for him . I had to make the decision 2 hours after it . If I knew then what I know now I wouldn't have put him through it . I feel so bad for you two and your two great dogs .

    I've been told and read you only use the marked "Jack Spot". We have only used the raising the same side tire method, usually with blocks of wood (never with a fancy plastic thingy). I'm doing bearing and brakes now, and have the front tires on a 4" high cinder blocks, you might try the Anderson and see if it works. MY QUESTION to TJ, where did you jack it, frame rail between the tires? We love watching you guys, I'm sure Brie is a hell of a catch, but sometimes I really feel for TJ...lol Together You both bring so much genuine personality to your channel. Great Job!

    • @EmbracingDetours
      @EmbracingDetours  3 года назад

      I lift the trailer from directly between the tires right below where our shock is mounted. I also try to make sure the jack head is closer to the curved part(outer edge) of the frame. Airstreams do have dedicated jack points that are usually marked under the trailer. I have used them in the past but on our trailer they are quite far from the tires and I found I was having to lift the trailer higher to get the wheels off the ground. Knock on wood I've not had any issues.

Have two more days with my business and it will no longer be mine, can't wait to see some of those things you are seeing. We've lived on the road for the last 37 years for about 200 day's out of the year for my business but haven't seen anything. Pick up our new bus in Florida on the 10th of next month. We aren't full timers but will still be spending around 200 day's a year. Have really enjoyed your videos

    The purple trees are called redbuds. One of the first signs of spring and there is usually a cold spell when they bloom. We call it redbud winter, then there is dogwood winter and the last cold spell is blackberry winter. Usually clear sailing to warm/hot weather after that.

    I feel bad, for what you two are going through with your dog’s breathing. These animals become family members and show so much “unconditional” love, and to see them sick is tough. We lost our traveling companion, Emmy a few years ago to “couches disease” so had to watch her slowly decline in her health... she was a Vizsla, and just loved to bird hunt, and travel with us. I wish you the best of luck with you Brittany! Thanks for sharing you videos, including the pains you are feeling! and TJ, not all old codgers, shake fists at you youngsters because of loud vans... ha ha ha. Remember we lived in the 50’s & 60’s with our “muscle cars”.... 😆. Wishing you the best of luck with Brody (sp?) and Safe Travels!

    I have been following you since you had less than 10,000 subs. I have been waiting for you to come East and I meant to write and give you some suggestions. It sounds like you know PA since you made a vet appt. there, so I guess you know where you're going to go. I live east of Baltimore and the area you are in is my go-to for a fast trip. But I usually go up on the Sky Line drive to camp. But the campsite that is close to where you are is closed due to COVID so you couldn't have gotten into it. But it is beautiful up there not like the west though. Are you going to visit any of the historic sites from DC to Boston. Are you going to an Atlantic beach very different from the Pacific. Is it possible Madley is allergic to some of our vegetation. We are in high season for allergies I'm sure you are noticing it on your van and camper. Have an awesome trip. I think you should have more subscribers I love your videos.

      Thank you Ellen for your kind words. We are planning to visit Boston for sure, it’s only @ 2hrs from where will be for the summer. We visited and made videos of our trip to D.C. and some of the surrounding area in 2019. Thank you for commenting and following along 🙂

    I just don't understand how you can be taking your time driving to PA and doing tourist stuff while your dog needs to get to the vet. If it were me, I would drive non stop to that vet.

      If we could we would. Unfortunately, we are at the mercy of the veterinarians schedule.

      We have had the appointment scheduled with the specialist since February, we are at the mercy of the vet’s schedule unfortunately and just have to manage her symptoms until then.
