@Jacob Bentley Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
@@streetsofasia8895 yeah, i think the language is the problem cause my Chinese is very bad and i really don't have any friend, maybe a very far relatives
Beautiful walk! I used to live in Suzhou for about 5 years and was looking for a walking tour in the city, so glad I stumbled upon your channel. Thank you so much for sharing ☺️
@@streetsofasia8895 I can't wait, the city is changing so much but I love how they still preserve some old areas. Anyway thank you again and hope you a nice day :)
"Atmospheric chinese urban village" you wrote exactly what I'm thinking 🙂 Everything is so real around 🙂 I see, that you have traffic lights for bicycles too 🙂 It's great 🙂
Yeah the city feels surprisingly authentic as long as you stay out of the tourist areas. It's really nice! And yeah China often has traffic lights for bikes.
Everywhere in China is of course real, there is no movie set village except the Dunhuang Movie Set in northwestern China, Hengdian World Studios and 5 more movie sets in Hong Kong. Bye.
@@streetsofasia8895 Come On, How many villages in China have been developed into tourist attractions ? Every time any westerners see a rural or underdeveloped place, they call it real. As if every developed place is for tourist to see and the 'Real" Asians live in undeveloped areas. THIS IS FUCKING RACIST!!!!!!!
Thank you very much for showing the “village in the city” in various cities in China. These places are called “villages in the city” in China. They are relatively old houses, and the living environment is relatively poor, but at least most of them are very Clean and very safe. Various cities have carried out a large number of demolition and renovation, but they have also caused many contradictions, so the government cannot easily demolish and renovate on a large scale.
Thank you for the informative comment, my friend. I wish the city governments would make more efforts to preserve areas like this rather than demolishing them, they are truly my favorite parts of Chinese cities!
I used to live in such southern Chinese historical township area when I was a little child. Beautiful childhood memories. Neighbors were usually knew each other and kept in good relationship. Very safe neibghood; honest and kindly people. Local residents in the alley usually leave their doors open in day time and evening. I could just walk in and ask friends came out to play. These alley are treasures. Kids play games and badminton in the alley. I could easily join them and making new friends. In summer time, building shade and airflow making the little alley like a natural cooler. Those alleys were origional paved by stone pads. In rainning day, Me and other kids like to walk on it with our shoes took off. So petty, those stone pads were distroyed and replaced by concrete due to the underground cable installation. During the past 20 years, Many of these pre-urbanisation settlement were demolitioned under the name of urban upgrade or modenization. That makes me feel...... :(
@@streetsofasia8895 Fortunately, there are still many of this kinda area were well preserved. Thank you very much for your videos. I enjoyed it very much!
I love to watch videos of villages of exotic countries. It is so satisfying. The rustic simplicity brings peace to my mind.

Beautiful walk, My friend went to Suzhou, but this looks nothing like the pictures she showed me .
That's awesome, what did she think of the city? Hmm I guess maybe we went to different parts of the city!
@@streetsofasia8895 Honestly she said she loved it but was only there for about 3 days . I guess she needed to see more .
Yeah three days isn't a lot of time to explore such a beautiful city.
Nice! Which part of Suzhou were you at?
I can't remember the exact area, but this was near the city center. Thanks for the comment!
Amazing city
Yeah it was a beautiful city! Very traditional compared to most Chinese cities. The whole city almost feels like a giant overgrown village.
