This is the exact neighborhood I grew up in. I even managed to find where I lived from your vid. Haven’t been back there for almost 15yrs. Seems more stayed the same. I’m able to recall some shops around. Just, wow, man! Truly unreal experience now that I’m a hemisphere away. Thank you so much for sharing such a nice video. Hope you’ve enjoyed your visit there!
That is amazing! What are the chances that I filmed your old neighborhood in such a gigantic city? I'm so glad I was able to bring back some childhood memories for you. It is a truly amazing place, one of the best I've ever been to.
I love how Chongqing has many different levels and layers. How a "ground" floor can be level 3 for someone and level 5 for another. Using Didi in the city was a real challenge for me as well. lol. I think it was difficult for the drivers to find me too. Thanks for bringing back memories with your video
Really glad you enjoyed this! Yeah Chongqing is just like a maze of different levels and narrow winding streets. The closest you could get to a true urban jungle. Plus the breathtaking skyline. It has everything I want in a city. Plenty of more Chongqing videos are on the horizon, I did lots of filming there.
The architecture of the buildings and the feel of this neighbourhood reminded me of some parts of Taipei Taiwan I've been to and not what I've seen so far of China on RUclips, what does differentiate it is the honking from cars and lack of scooter engine sounds. The streets also look quite clean and tidy too. Great steady footage without quick movements that blurs the footage.
I really appreciate your comment! Chongqing actually has VERY little honking when compared to other Chinese cities (the worst city I've been to in terms of honking is Suzhou by far). And yes motorized scooters are banned in most Chinese cities. I have been to Taipei and never saw any areas like this, now you have gotten me really curious to go back. I was only there for a day but everything I saw looked very nice with wide streets and well-maintained infrastructure.
@@streetsofasia8895 the area in Taipei I was thinking of was the newer Neihu district north of the Keelung river which has quite a lot of hills, quiet streets and more modern buildings.
It really does have such a cyber punk/ steam punk vibe to it. An urban jungle indeed! it's mesmerizing and fascinating watching you walk along these streets!
Thank you for watching! Yeah I just can't get enough of all the levels and layers. So easy to get lost in this city. All the greenery is an added bonus as well.
Wow this is a truly amazing representation of the China I think of, I have never been to China unfortunately but I’m so surprised how relaxed and happy the people are and such interesting buildings, ty so much for sharing this video and I hope you are well right now as we have a changing world right now, love and peace to you all in China 😉✌️🙌🙌
Thanks so much for your long and thoughtful comment my friend! Chongqing in particular has a very laid back atmosphere and is probably my favorite city in China next to Chengdu!

Omg Dudeeee I had planned to go to ChongQing this year to just walk around the city and use their mass transit except you know what happened. THanks for posting this! I'm so happy. I hear the geography there is outstanding. A year or two before I went to ZhangJiaJie and Tianmenshan mountain (張家界 然後 天門山)beautiful part of china. I wish to live in China for a year or two
Chongqing is possibly the coolest city I've ever been to! Very underrated, and I 100% you go see it for yourself when this is all done with. I really hope you have the chance to try living in China, I think you will love it!
I cannot travel so i like to see this kind of video, i find the people keep their place clean, in one area interesting way to put the electric wires on the tree branch along the sidewalk, thanks for filming

I'm surprised by your description, because this kind of area is conceived as " dirty, chaotic, and bad " by some locals and other Chineses.
@@李文皓-e6i it does look very chaotic, but well-kept. like the original commenter said, everything looks very clean. so it's messy, but well-maintained!

I find the concave and tight space between buildings to be intriguing. I would love to walk through the back alleys and stairways to the apartment.
Great quality of the video! Super interesting! Subscribed!
