Thank you for the comment Cheryl! Luckily the insides of these apartments will look much nicer than the outside, as is the case for most buildings in China!
I absolutely love cities like this, it seems so crowded because of the buildings... Weird to say but it brings me some sort of comfort? I love small or closeted spaces. I know it might seem weird to others, might look disorganized to some but this kind of space makes me happy! Especially when it rains :)
It’s a human instinct to prefer closed areas over open areas, since our ancestors were more likely to survive in smaller, more closed places than open and wide places. Very cool fact to learn and it explains our comfort for places such as this.
Chongqing is a mountainous city, just like Japan is an island country. The distance between buildings is very close, and there are few spacious roads. I don't know if it's because I am from Chongqing or because people instinctively prefer narrow spaces (similar to sleeping with doors closed), and I also feel very comfortable with this feeling 笔
Definitely Chongqing under the rain looks even prettier than on dry days. Watching, I remembered the original anime 'Ghost in the Shell' from 1995. Congratulations for your decision to walk in the rain to film. Really, thank you!
