when i was a kid, i love riding my bike at night time exploring my city(small town in china), feel like the city is mine, especially when it is dark and raining.
My mother grew up in yuki, ibaraki and i was born in london, and every summer until i was 13 she would take me to yuki to see my grandmother, my cousins and a few friends. I can easily say these were the best times in my life and i can still remember the smell of the streets in summer during obon, the laundry detergent my grandmother used, the sounds of walking into a 7eleven, or hearing announcements at a train station. Japan truly is where my heart and soul resides and i hope i get to walk on that flat yuki land agian. 😁 also, fantastic video! extremely calming and reminiscent 👍
Cause the suddle ASMR undertones are very trance like. It sucks you in & keeps you there, like when you're getting a massage & don't wanna move. So amazing.
Mad respect for you walking for a whole hour in the rain, props to that because you're probably sick at the moment if that's the case then hope you feel better soon.
One of the things I like to do when I travel is to just walk about in rural areas. Just to like soak in the atmosphere and general vibe of the people living there. So far Japan has been my favorit to do this in
Walking never felt so good as when me and my wife went to the wrong hotel after landing in Tokyo and had to stroll for almost two hours to the right hotel with an app like google maps that could not show us the route nor our exact location (consequence of not having internet) but did show north, south, east and west. It was like an urban jungle adventure, with a smarthpone instead of a compass. We were carrying quite heavy luggage and backpaks and hit more than a few streats with dead ends. Other streets took us too much east or west before we could turn left or right to correct our trajectory. It was as dark as in this video (thanks god no rain). We loved every second of it. This reminds us so much of that first day in Japan. Oh, and I decided that I will marry my wife after a month of walks like this one around Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka streets. Sharing this experience with her really changed something inside me, strange as it may sound. Thank you for the channel.

And the sound of rain is comforting :)
I was thinking 'walking around the backstreets at night isn't safe' and then I remembered it was Japan, where 4 year olds walk to school by themselves. It's a whole over world
Dude u dont have to stay in an expensive af hotel or take a guide in order to enjoy japn, if you do ur research and save mons u can pull it off one day.
You definitely don't know what it's like to live in the third world. For example here in latinoamerica, you're lucky if you have money to eat, pay rent, taxes and still manage to save something by the end of the month.
Something is so humbling abouth the look of urban japan, the look of it all gives me a feeling of excitement similar to going out when you were a kid, i would like to live there one day.
Oh dear... Another person actually thinking it so good. Consider all aspects of life please, like paying taxes, or having to pay the pension - mandatory even for short stay foreigners. There are far too many things you are NOT thinking about.

As someone who lives in the US I can tell how respectful the culture is where you live. There isn’t a single piece of garbage anywhere on the ground. It’s sooo much filthier on streets here.
Thank you for making these videos. You might not know just how much they mean to people. I really wanted to go to Japan this year after years of saving, but life got in the way. Not sure when I'll get to go now. But your videos make it a little easier

Looking at this makes me feel right at home, even though I was born in London, its Japan where my dreams lead me when I sleep. What can I say, my spirit knows these roads even though I've never been to Japan. Sun sand and sea will never feed my soul like this video does... When I die this is where my spirit will rest.. Such a simple video yet so monumentally powerful of someone just walking and filming with a camera at night... Priceless!
Being a country boy, my only experiences with cities are places like Memphis Tennessee and New Orleans Louisiana. Im amazed by how calm and quiet and clean everything is there in Japan, no run down building, graffiti, gunfire. I couldn't stand to ever move away but I would love to visit Japan atleast once!
I miss Japan so much. I went there for 2 weeks in 2019 and it was the best time of my life. I walked the streets of Ikebukuro at night for 20 minutes and I loved every second of it. I felt totally safe and had no worries.
@Kami Same happened to me. This girl who apparently goes my way kept looking behind at me, which made me feel a bit uncomfortable as I just wanted to get home as soon as possible. It's crazy how girls have to be soo self aware here in America...
Try being a Muslim male in this day and age. I grow a beard and get called a terrorist. Brad Pitt grows a beard and gets called the sexiest man alive. I wouldn’t hurt a fly but I look like a criminal. I guess it’s the genes 🧬
Everything looks so neat and tidy. No rubbish on the roads and cars neatly parked away. It is almost cartoon like. I didn’t expect Japan to look like this as it looks quite pleasant and ordered.
As an American, what immediately strikes out at me is A) how clean the streets are, and B) How people just leave their stuff unsecured outside overnight. I saw multiple bikes with no locks on them, flower bouquets and plenty of trinkets on street-side floor level balconies. It's like crime doesn't exist there, like the idea that someone would just walk by and snatch your stuff is unheard of.
i lived in Japan between 1955 and coming back to the States in NOv 1957. Yes I was amazed by how people in Japan left their areas so clesn unlike many Americans . It is a cultural thing which unfortunately so many in thre US don't teach their kids. I learned this growing up. There was stlen property investigated by Japanese police when we lived off Tachikawa AB> POssibly it was just curiosity which led someone to rnter our car geside or house in KUnitachikawa one night as what was taken was inexpensive.
yeah that's what actually first caught my attention, those bikes. here in california even if you put some lock on your bike it would still end up getting stolen.

Thank you so much for this video Rambalac it is so relaxing and beautiful
The peace of waking at night without worring or looking back is priceless. Here in Brazil that's not possible due to the violence!
Great video! Hope to see with my own eyes in the future. Love Japan and its culture

It's normal, U only appreciate the things U lost
You can't walk anywhere, get a car or die lol. Welcome to America.
@@ShaferHart Brazil it's just like US, but in hard mode. Here every street is 200% much dirty, people throw garbage everywhere. Not all streets are asphalted, and while in US your only option is to get a car or you die, well, here in Brazil your chances to get a bullet in the head still pretty high even inside a car. And at night, don't walk on the streets for more than 10 minutes, or you'll get robbed, and most of the time by a 14 year old kid. So don't do that, with friends or not.
And for last, I've forgot to mention that you're poor too, so if you get robbed just one time, you loose, because you don't have nothing left to survive.

Im glad you didnt slip while walking

What a beautiful dark night. Wow
This rain sounds great.
A lot of times, rain sounds like white noise, and then I start thinking about out of tune TV's and radios. This sounds distinctly like rain and I love it
