    I am using Tamron's G2 versions of the 24-70mm f2.8 and 70-200mm f2.8 and feel there is no need to upgrade. My clients are happy, I'm happy.

    I too owned and sold the RF 85 1.2 & the RF 70-200 2.8. Selling them was 2 of the WORST decisions of my little life… I now own the RF 28-70 f2, RF 100 macro and the RF 15-35. I won’t be selling those and plan to regain the 85 and 70-200. Those lenses are simply ASTOUNDING and Selling them was a huge mistake.

    He’s right. I own pretty much most of them, owning RF lenses is literally car money. There is a quality difference but it’s negligible to the client.

    Used EF lenses are really cheap right now. I think it’s a good time to invest in some of the legendary lenses like the 135 f2, 85 f1.2, etc. while prices are low. I bet you they will become really expensive again in a few years after some RUclipsrs rediscover them for their nice rendering and that little bit of magic/imperfection, that the newer RF lenses lack. Just like with FD lenses and basically every other vintage kit.

    • @PrinceMeyson
      @PrinceMeyson  2 месяца назад +4

      I honestly doubt they’ll become expensive again. Technology is moving at a very fast pace and companies like Tamron and Sigma will eventually have the go ahead to make RF lenses and at cheaper rates. Why would you buy a big lens with an adapter when you can get a smaller one for the same price. That’s my thought process though but hey I don’t know the future, you might be right after all.

    If you’re shooting something like high key natural light portraits, the RF 85 1.2 is incredible, since it produces little to no chromatic aberration vs the older EF 85 1.2, which has a lot of purple and green fringing in high contrast areas. On the other hand, If you’re shooting headshots with a 100 macro, in studio, using strobes at f/8 or higher for instance, you’ll see very little difference between the RF and EF versions.

    Great video. I have a r6mk2 and a bunch of rf lens, but those 1.2 lens like you mention are amazing but theyre way too heavy for my fun use, candid of my children friends and travel. So i recently picked up a m6mk2 and been using it daily and enjoying it so much more than my r camera. Most people on social media where i share my photos wont motice any difference at all

    I have the R5 too and I have just been hoping I'll get my money up soon enough to be able to purchase some of these RF lenses. (Actually all the three lenses you mentioned AND the 28-70mm f2 😂😂). I know, I know. It's expensive, but that's just the ultimate dream I aspire to right now instead of changing camera bodies. Thank you for this video, Prince.

    I had the pleasure of attending a Canon sponsored workshop earlier last year and they had all the L glasses you can dream of. I chose to try out that RF 85mm 1.2 took a few shots and immediately gave it back. I told myself these fools are really trying me to get in more debt. That lens is fantastic it gave my Canon R new life...maybe Canon will roll out a line of f/1.4 L glass like the 35mm they just released. That would be awesome.

    You can buy 1 piece of elite canon glass that will outlive 4 cameras. Heck EF still works great with RF cameras. You don't need to get canon glass but you NEVER hate using it.

    This is a great video. I have an R5 and came from a 5D IV. I have many classic EF Lenses. The RF28-70 f2 is worth the upgrade. I don’t think I’d upgrade the EF100 f2 or EF16-35 or EF70-200 I own. I’m happy with the image quality and don’t use them as often. The RF800 f11 has been amazing for Bird Photography. If you don’t sell Bird pics but love taking them you will be pleasantly surprised if you buy it.

    Great topic of conversation, Once you go RF its hard to go back to EF. When i started to build my team of lenses in the R series lineup, It was my preference not to invest in EF lenses. No one was making up to date / new EF lenses so i didn't want to invest in old glass. Not saying there is anything wrong with adapting that just wasn't anything that I was gonna do.

    My thing is that with EF onto R cameras you need an adapter, which is putting additional glass between you and your subject. I have the adapter, I am only keeping it for lenses I get at a bargain price. If I NEED a lens, it's gonna be RF, if I just want it, probably just EF.

      The EF to RF adapters have no glass in them, at all.

      I have, and will keep the RF24-105 for its versatility. I just don’t think the improved performance justifies the exorbitant price tag on the RF line up. We should always remember some of the most iconic pictures have been captured on an EF glass.

    I still buy EF lens. Not RF. Except Mirrorless you can not use them any where. Price is just to high. Not worth for so much investment. Client do not care what you have. They need service and quality.
    I use converter EF lens to RF body. RF price too high, just rip off. I also use other brands cheaper than Canon
