In regards to "finally he uses his force" - Obi-Wan has used the Force multiple times throughout the prequel movies. For example, in the beginning of this movie when he and Anakin landed on Grievous' ship Obi-Wan set down his ship and then immediately did a gigantic flip, sticking the landing, before taking down a bunch of drones. The Force is how he did that flip. Another example was when he fought Jango Fett in Attack of the Clones. He used the Force multiple times in that fight. Unless I'm misunderstanding what you are meaning by him finally using the force.
Also regarding you mentioning Obi-Wan's teaching style and abilities. The prequel movies do not do Obi-Wan justice. The Clone War animated series adds so much more to Anakin and Obi-Wan's dynamic as well as how impressive Obi-Wan is. Additionally, in that series it is revealed that Obi-Wan knew about Anakin being with Padme. Obi-Wan and General Grievous met in the Clone Wars series hence the way they greeted each other.

I saw this in the theater at a midnight screening when it came out; It really felt like the end of an era when I watched it. It's amazing how much better the CGI is, only 6 years after The Phantom Menace and 8 or 9 years after the Star Wars Special edition.

"The dark side of the force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural..." One of my favourtite lines in all of Star Wars over the last 30 years, i've been into this. And he was right. These powers are real, but forbidden and highly dangerous.
By the way you probably don't know: Darth is a Title and a Name for the Sith. It is an old word for "Darkness" itself created by ancient Sith.

    Couple of things.
"Leave him, or we'll all die."
"Then his fate will be the same as ours."
They do all three die on a Death Star, with Obi dying on a first one (left out), while Anakin/Darth and Palpatine/Emperor dying minutes apart on a second one.
The guy that greets Obi on the Utapau (white face with vertical lining) is the same actor, that played verti-pilot in Mad Max, Train Man in Matrix Revolutions, and Mouth of Sauron in a deleted scene of LOTR: Return of the KIng (beheaded by Aragorn near the end).
And an interesting theory about Padme's death. It was not of breaking heart. Palpatine never *_truly_* explained to Anakin how exactly to save lives of loved ones, and since Force is something that 'surrounds us, penetrates us and keeps us together all through the galaxy', it is a high possibility, that he's used Force to transfer Padme's life to keep Anakin alive. That works two-fold for Palpatine. A - it does confirm for newly formed Vader, who've felt so far that she was alive, that she did in fact die, which reinforces the deception of Emperor and clutches over Anakin. B - Palpatine truly believes that it will drive Anakin to any means necessary to keep doing what's morally right, as he thinks. That because Jedi and all that they fought for took away the only thing that's mattered in his life, after the death of his mother, he will not stop until 'peace' is kept, no matter the cost.
Not to mention, if you actually listen closely, with a good 5.1/7.1 in your earphones, you can actually hear that for some time during the putting of the mask on Vader, we don't hear his heartbeat, only it starting when the helmet is locked in and he starts breathing. One could say that it was the moment that Anakin died and Vader was truly born.

    Obi-Wan always knew.
There’s a deleted scene where Obi-Wan tells Padmé: “Anakin has loved you since the day you met on that junk shop in Tatooine. We… pretend that I don’t know, because it made him happy. You made him happy when nothing else ever could.”

32:12 Now let me point something out about General Grievous. He _looks_ pretty intimidating with four lightsabers, but he's not trained with the Force, so there's _no_ way he can use them to their full potential. That's why the advantage remains with Obi-Wan.

    • @lazyperfectionist1
      @lazyperfectionist1 5 месяцев назад

32:15 "He's gonna give Darth _Maul_ a run for his money. He's got _four arms."_
Yes, but he's not a Force sensitive. Darth Maul had the Force. Obi-Wan Kenobi has the Force. General Grievous doesn't, so Obi-Wan can take him.

In the animated short movies from 2003 and 2005 Mace Windu (Samuel L. Jackson) had almost crushed Grievous' chest with the Force, hence the coughing, but still. Grievous is like a 90's cartoon villain and looks completely out of place. A placeholder until this movie gets intense....

23:46 "With all due respect, Master, is he not the chosen one? Is he _not_ to destroy the Sith and bring _balance_ to the Force?"
🤔 What is meant by the word "balance?" Balance is a state of equilibrium between two or more opposing forces. What are the forces out of balance within the Force?
Observe that the Force is _always_ kept curiously vague.

Chronlogically, Solo comes next, then Rogue One. Those are the two spinoff movies. I consider the Obi-Wan Kenobi series to be a kind of prequel movie, so you can watch that after Solo, where it falls chronologically.
If you are REALLY invested in this universe, you could watch the Clone Wars, which fills in a lot of interesting blanks but has a LOT of filler in it. Seven seasons of it can be a bit of a slog. You could just watch the Clone Wars feature film, which is really just the first few episodes of the show put together. It'll give you a basic idea of the situations, characters and plots of the rest of the show.

Keep in mind that George Lucas had nothing to do with the creation of the sequel trilogy. It is not the story he planned to tell. In fact, Disney actually rejected his story treatments for the sequels in favor of letting different directors make up the story of each film as they went along, and it shows.
Watch everything else first if you want. The animated shows, the live action shows, the silly Droids and Ewoks cartoons from the 80s, the terrible Star Wars Holiday Special from the 70s, the ridiculous Ewok TV movies, and leave the sequels for last, last, last. They're the last thing in the current timeline anyway.

Anakin - best in offensive lightsaber fights (this is why he is never send to fight gen Grievous)
gen Grievous - he is one of the best lightsaber fighters in star wars, he is ruthless, cunning and smart, also he is best Confederate general
Mace W. - he is good in offensive lightsaber fights but not as Anakin but Mace is one of the best offensive force users he can use even dark powers

Battle of Coruscant seems to draw its inspiration (on colorimetry and general ambiant) from the video game Homeworld 2 (3d Space battle Real Time Strategy game).
Check out the 2003 Clone Wars animated micro series that was the very first appearance of Grievous and showed his real potential as a anti Jedi killing machine !
Magna Gard droids have a second head at crotch level.
Episode 2 deleted scenes showed Padmé's bedroom at her parents' on Naboo. Watching her belongings, we see that she's quite into desperate causes... and Anakin IS a desperate cause !
Naboo monarchy is elected, not inherited, they go through political school first. And on the contrary, Padmé is very compationate with desperate cases. However, Tatooine Tusken are universally hated.
If you like political backstabbing in a sci fy environment, why not checking out Dune? It's on an other level.
A dropped subplot would have made Padmé and Obi-Wan potential lovers that would have made Anakin jealous. But as it could have thrown a shade on Luke and Leia's true parentage, they dropped it.
