@@cbfranco3307I mean, by that logic, whose to say ol Morton Sr didn't become the Dry Bowser that's a separate character? Maybe he just likes being a skeletor. XD
Because Bowser said that he has 7 childs in smb3 and because Miamoto meant, it's not true, the Koopalings have to bee adopted. But adopted kids are part of a family, so the koopalings are part of Bowsers family.
I'm gonna say that the first two were fake bowsers made by Kamek using a different process than Bowser's turning minions into himself. Hence why they actually died. Then the last one was a collaboration, where Bowser used his own fake Bowser method, combined with Kamek's improvements, to try and create a stronger fake. But in the end none of them could hold up like the real thing.
This ‘Bowser Brother’ may actually have a name, if we believe Miyamoto saying the Koopalings aren’t Bowser’s kids. At least one might the child of this Brother. Morton Koopa Junior. If we go for quite a stretch this Blue Bowser may just be Morton Koopa Senior.
0:07 - "The Koopalings are not his children..." I still refuse to accept this. I had the SMB3 booklet and read it cover to cover. Bowser needs to stop trying to avoid that child support.
Fun fact: in Super Princess Peach, Bowser steals a scepter that allows him to use powers related to emotions. When fighting him, he will use the emotion of sadness which is coloured blue. This powers makes him jump to the ceiling and throw giant hammers at you. Could this be a reference to blue bowser?
The thing is, Bowser's brother isn't actually his brother. He was just meant to be another Bowser clone. The only reason of why his color pallete is different is because of a glitch that happened after it got spawned in the map.
@@TeamBlueToad actually the death animation reveals an enemy if it's a fake Bowser that's defeated, but Blue Bowser revealed no enemy except during his 3rd battle which means there's a real Blue Bowser and some fake ones
Yeah but that doesn't stop what it causes. Sense now it has been referred to as Bowser's brother it doesn't matter if it's a glitch or not anymore sense it has now been given a canon explanation.
I think that there's potential in having a brother for Bowser in how it can play off of the Mario brothers thematically. Like, since the Mario bros are close and work together to achieve a shared goal, the Bowser brothers could be dysfunctional, distant, and have totally different goals. This could even play into how he's rarely ever mentioned or seen.
I just found your channel recently and it’s honestly amazing how many deep and hidden Mario lore you can find, not to mention the wonderful presentation quality. I hope your channel continues to grow for many years to come and the creativity never stops!
I wonder how the Mario series would be different if they kept Bowsers bro around, maybe he could be Luigi’s arch nemesis instead of King Boo or Waluigi
Yo you watch this guy too? Let's go Also I've seen this theory before but what if Bowser's brother (I'll call him Morton because of Morton Jr) became Dry Bowser? Since there's been times when Bowser and Dry Bowser show up at the same time and it's weird as hell, so maybe Morton just never got his flesh back and decided to be a Spooky Scary Skeleton
It would be interesting. While I'm not sure if King Boo would've been made - he still could assuming they don't make Bowser's brother the main villain in Luigi's Mansion - Waluigi would definitely still exist, because Wario would still need a partner for Tennis. (Unless that timeline is where Wario never got his own spin-off series and fell off by the wayside after Super Mario Land 2/Wario's Woods/Mario & Wario)
Dev:damn,i made a Blue fake Bowser Nintendo:It s ok Dev:and forget to add the death/transformation animation Nintendo:let s make him his long Lost Brother Dev:that s why you re the boss
I’ve been a huge Mario fan since I was 5, and somehow I had no ideia about this. Usually the so called “obscure facts” are not obscure at all, but this genuinely caught me by surprise !
Considering how consistent Nintendo tries to keep everything these days, it's sort of wild to me how much they flip flop on this ultimately minor piece of info.
I always thought Bowser’s last alt in Smash was Dark Bowser from Bowser’s Inside Story. What’s confusing is Smash 4’s description. Calling the alt a ‘clone’ makes sense if it implies Dark Bowser, because Dark Bowser’s shown to be a clone of Bowser in-game. However, it doesn’t imply Dark Bowser. The description still references Lost Levels, making it clear that this isn’t who they’re talking about.
5:42 Note how it says "a fake Bowser". One of them. That means it refers to the blue Bowser that turns into a spiny when defeated. Not to the two real ones.
I'm pretty sure all the Koopas are related to each other in some way, including the Koopalings, when you consider that they're all the same species. Blue Bowser kinda looks like the one from Bowser's inside story.
Its not going to happen, but I would love to see him as a bonus character in Mario Kart or the Mario sports games. You could give him a hammer and make him the 'captain' of the hammer bros.
There's already Army Hammer Bro for that, BTW normal Bowser used hammers too, even in more recent apparences like NSMB2 and even Superstar Saga (well I guess the remake counts as a recent release)
My head cannon: Bowser's Brother, was killed by Mario canonically in Mario Bros 2/Lost Levels. With him being dead, Bowser adopts his 7 children and raises them as his own. This explains why they don't appear in Mario 1 and why they hate Mario just as much as their adoptive father/uncle.
Part of me believes that Bowser's "Brother" was the true father of the Koopalings. And that the Koopalings were put under Bowser's care after his Brother's demise. Even more, later on, the "Dry Bones-Bowser" we see at the same time as Bowser in certain games was this "absent" brother. Bowser had been trying to use his magic to revive him, and hense how the Dry Bones Troopas, and Beetles, and Fishbones came to be. This was him practicing the spell over the years before New Super Mario Bros. Then somehow, in NSMB, Bowser Jr. Gets the spell right, and brings back his dad successfully. After that, BJr. tries to help his dad perfect it to bring back his brother (who had been dead for years at this point) but is only able to bring him back as a Dry Bones. Later, one of the Koopalings asks him about the Dry-Bowser, and Bowser, knowing that the Koopalings know their father to be long-dead, lies and says that "he's a close friend of the family."
Then on top of that theory, let's look at the Koopa Kids' names. Morton's full name is "Morton Koopa Jr." Bowser's full name is "Bowser Koopa". And there's a "Bowser Jr." Oh sure, it'd be easy to explain that Nintendo dropped the Jr. From Morton when they brought back the Koopalings to avoid confusion between the two..... But I think that Bowser's "Brother" (And thus the Dry-Bowser) is ACTUALLY named "Morton Koopa Sr."
I think Blue Bowser could be Bowser's younger brother, but I consider Morton Koopa Sr. Bowser's older brother. Moron Sr. is also the father of the 7 koopalings, hence Morton Jr. So, Bowser Jr. is the cousin of the 7 koopalings.
They're NOT cousins, the koopalings are nothing but minions of Bowser,if they are members of the royal koopa family, why does Jr treath them like SHIT in Bowser Jr journey? And why do they call him LORD JR? Why do they call Bowser BOSS or KING if they're his nephews? Why does Kamek give them orders in Bowser Jr journey when Kamek is not a part of Bowser's family, being just his servant? Sure,Kamek raised Bowser, but he was always treated as a servant by both child and adult Bowser, and Kamek himself calls Bowser "your awfulness" or other stuffs. The koopalings are NOT a part of Bowser's family.
Honestly, I think Nintendo don't know what to do with that character. Maybe they don't want him to be noticed because that was just an easy recolor for The Lost Levels and now they regret creating him and try to "explain" in modern time why he's here and why he's just a blue Bowser. Ah, and if he was really, canonicaly, Bowser's brother, we would see him a lot more in recent games (even in spin-off games like idk, in Mario Kart as an alternate skin or something)
"fake" bowser? imagine being overshadowed by your older twin so much the world starts thinking you're a doppelganger I feel so sorry for bowser's brother
What if Bowser's father is Morton Koopa Sr and has the same color skeme as Morton Jr which is why he's called Morton koopa Jr. Bowser's blue twin is the father of the Koopalings and Bowser is more of an uncle to the koopalings than a father which also means Bowser Jr has cousins.
Another theory that's cool to think about is that Bowser's Koopa troop is more of a Mafia with kamek as his consiligere, Blue Bowser as his underboss, Bowser Jr as his street boss, the koopalings as Capo's, and the rest of the Koopa troop as soldiers.
This reminds me of when there’s the fake Mario, in Sunshine, that turns out to be Bowser Jr. I thought it could be a version of Bowser, built like that. But I really love the idea of bowser having a more unhinged younger brother that he hates and doesn’t talk about. Name: Brawler, Bruiser, Tank, Powser, Wowser 😂 (in the same theme as Wario, Waliugi)
I still stand by him name being Morton, since Morton Jr. is one of the Koopa kids, which are probably his kids (as they are confirmed not Bowser's kids).
it could also be viewed that blue bowser is both the brother of bowser and a fake. This blue bowser has 2 different death animations; revealing that blue bowser is real and can be cloned. So technically this blue bowser can be a fake but could also be bowser’s brother.
I remember fighting Bowser's brother in Super Mario 64. I used the cannon in Peach's Castle Grounds to fly into the stained glass window on the front of the castle. To unlock the boss fight you first need to beat the game, talk to Yoshi then ground pound the sun on the first floor of the castle.
Lemme add onto that: The Koopalings In order to have the surname Koopa, they would have to have a father with that surname To rule fiefdoms (worlds) they’d have to be royalty Therefore i propose to you, that the Koopalings are Bowser’s *nephews* and *niece*. The children of Bowser’s blue brother: *Morton* *Koopa* *Sr.*
I thought it was gonna turn out that the reason he doesn't show up after the first game he showed up in, was because he actually died in that one and was never revived.
Fake Bowser from Smash could still be a brother. A younger brother can fake being the older. True identity being unknown also doesn't need to mean that he's not Bowser's brother, it could just mean we don't know his name or anything more about him. I'm sticking with it still being his brother, it's the best way to reconcile the data and I like the idea lol.
The japanese instructions manual for Super Mario Bros. 3 does say that the Koopalings are Bowser's children. They just changed that fact later when they decided to go with Bowser Jr. So, I wouldn't be surprised if Bowser's brother no longer exists.
Its kinda weird how to this day we know just surface level stuff about almost every Mario character. Except for Rosalina, the one (if not) the only character with a backstory.
I wonder what this means about Dark Bowser in Bowser's Inside Story. Looks similar to Bowser's brother, but not exactly. This sounds like a lot of theory potential
Probably just a coincidence, a true render of Bowser's Brother in a modern design would show him having brown skin, only the head and shell would be blue
@@BravosChannel to be fair many Dark Star based enemies look very similar to regular characters, Dark Goomba looks like Galoomba, Dark Koopa (we've only seen him in his shell tho) looks pretty similar to our blue Koopa, Dark Thwomp barely looks any different from the regular Thwomp
@@somegenericguy2909 It's a shame they kept Wario's brother in as an assist trophy and alternate costume in smash bros instead of making him an original character 😞
I always thought the blue bowser in Smash was supposed to be from Bowser’s inside story, also Nintendo recon the Mario series as in Super Mario Bros 3 the koopalings were Bowser’s children and now them are just his generals.
Here’s my theory Bowsers brother Is Morton koopa sr. Unfortunately because there was no lava under him to swim in after he fell he died on impact And after he died he asked bowser to take care of his kids This is why the next game lore wise bowser let’s all of Morton’s kids run his airships And this is why the koopalings are apart of bowsers family but Nintendo said they are not his kids it’s because he’s their uncle
Who else is blue? Some of the KOOPALINGS. The Koopalings can rule castles and lands cuz they're ROYALTY, but if they arent Bowser's kids? and theyre royalty, with the Koopa last name...then whose kids are they?!?! Blue Bowser! He DIES in these games, cuz he doesnt have black magic or kamek behind his best interests. He's royal rivalry, so Kamek lets him DIE. Leaving Bowser to take in the Koopalings. His Nephews, and Niece
They never called him dad, super Mario bros 3 is a play, confirmed by miyamoto, tell me ANY OTHER games where they call him dad? You can't. In Bowser Jr journey they call him BOSS,or KING BOWSER.
Thank you for this video :D My favorite forgotten character, and I find it hilarious that such an important character was haphazardly introduced in SMB2 then immeridately forgotten about. Also, the Koopa kids are probably his children since it's confirmed that they are not actually Bowser's children, but definitely part of the family. One of them is called Morton Jr., so Bowser's brother is called Morton.
The Koopalings are just considered Bowser's henchmen, to my knowledge. In the early days of their existence they were his kids, and I still prefer that myself, but now they're not.
@@INFERNO95 By important character, I mean the fact that he has a very close family relationship to one of the main characters. When most game series introduce such a character, they usually pay a lot of attention to that.
Since we never saw him after Mario 2 (Japan), we can assume Mario (or Luigi, depending which of two you're playing) killed him. RIP Bowser's Brother (No name given) 1986-1986
We need some more lore in Mario instead of just: Red plumber saves girl he's in love with from giant turtle, then go karting and golfing with his friends.
My headcanon is this: Blue Bowser is, in fact, Bowser's brother. Who canonically *died* during the events of The Lost Levels, and The Koopalings are *his* kids, that Bowser adopted afterwards.
If Blueser (that's what I call him) died Kamek would just revive him, and if he did die Bowser wouldn't be playing Mario kart with the dude who killed his brother.
@@cbfranco3307 Nintendo probably just didn't put any lore to Blueser, and Kamek wasn't thought of back then. The first one is more pertinent, and the party games aren't part of the canon.
@@Link_1129 "party games aren't part of the canon" Prove it,then. And don't say "It doesn't make sense with the main series" that's as stupid as saying a SpongeBob episode isn't canon because a different episode contradicts it, Mario is for kids, logic doesn't exist.

But in the end none of them could hold up like the real thing.
how does that explain real bowser dying and always coming back
so blue bowser can do that as well if his strength matches real bowser
@@supermaximglitchy1 Because it doesn't match real Bowser, they just tried to.
Maybe he just used some double cherry power-ups.
I guess the theory make sense except Kamek didn't exist in Japanese Super Mario Bros 2 yet the implication that he exists.
Then that would make Morton the nephew of Bowser.
@bennel3588jr is bowser’s biographical son the koopalings are adopted I do like the theory that bowsers brother are the koopalings real father
I’ve been busy all day with college / uni work and I really needed a break, so this couldn’t have come at a better time, thanks!
0:07 - "The Koopalings are not his children..."
I still refuse to accept this. I had the SMB3 booklet and read it cover to cover. Bowser needs to stop trying to avoid that child support.
I'm still curious about Bowser's wife a.k.a Bowser Jr.'s REAL mother.
I still wish Peach was his wife lol
It's Miyamoto. He said so himself once when asked about it.
Baby Bowser and Bowser Jr look very similar, so Bowser probably cloned himself and raised the clone as a son like Jango Fett from Star Wars.
@@ARDIZsq I am very sure that was just Miyamoto joking around like he always does.
@@The_Yosh agreed
Fun fact: in Super Princess Peach, Bowser steals a scepter that allows him to use powers related to emotions.
When fighting him, he will use the emotion of sadness which is coloured blue. This powers makes him jump to the ceiling and throw giant hammers at you.
Could this be a reference to blue bowser?
The thing is, Bowser's brother isn't actually his brother. He was just meant to be another Bowser clone. The only reason of why his color pallete is different is because of a glitch that happened after it got spawned in the map.
What about the defeat animation? Is that a some glitch?
@@oyoo3323 If i recall correctly, that's how the animation was meant to be for every Bowser. But i'm not sure if i'm right or not.
This could even play into how he's rarely ever mentioned or seen.
i can’t believe this, bowser’s brother merely enables his evil habits. 😔
It’d be cool to see him in a newer game. I feel like they could do a good Job at including him in the story.

I wonder how the Mario series would be different if they kept Bowsers bro around, maybe he could be Luigi’s arch nemesis instead of King Boo or Waluigi
I can see that as well.
Yeah.
That'd have been cool
Yo you watch this guy too? Let's go
Also I've seen this theory before but what if Bowser's brother (I'll call him Morton because of Morton Jr) became Dry Bowser?
I wish this character were in modern Mario games. It would be great to have a different boss for once.
Yeah, “different”

I’ve been a huge Mario fan since I was 5, and somehow I had no ideia about this. Usually the so called “obscure facts” are not obscure at all, but this genuinely caught me by surprise !
Giving bowser a brother would give an excellent parallel for the Mario bros alongside the Wa Bros and Peach and Daisy to an extent
Oh ye
You mean Dark Bowser?
Its not going to happen, but I would love to see him as a bonus character in Mario Kart or the Mario sports games. You could give him a hammer and make him the 'captain' of the hammer bros.
There's already Army Hammer Bro for that, BTW normal Bowser used hammers too, even in more recent apparences like NSMB2 and even Superstar Saga (well I guess the remake counts as a recent release)
My head cannon:
Bowser's Brother, was killed by Mario canonically in Mario Bros 2/Lost Levels.
Mario or luigi or both killed bowser's brother
The koopalings fight the mario bros out of revenge
I think Blue Bowser could be Bowser's younger brother, but I consider Morton Koopa Sr. Bowser's older brother. Moron Sr. is also the father of the 7 koopalings, hence Morton Jr. So, Bowser Jr. is the cousin of the 7 koopalings.
That's what I believe!
YES
@@cbfranco3307 Jesus Christ calm down. It's nothing more than a headcanon
@@cbfranco3307 No need to be so snappy.
Bule browser: forgotten
Everyone in 2021: no

"fake" bowser? imagine being overshadowed by your older twin so much the world starts thinking you're a doppelganger
I feel so sorry for bowser's brother
What if Bowser's father is Morton Koopa Sr and has the same color skeme as Morton Jr which is why he's called Morton koopa Jr. Bowser's blue twin is the father of the Koopalings and Bowser is more of an uncle to the koopalings than a father which also means Bowser Jr has cousins.
Another theory that's cool to think about is that Bowser's Koopa troop is more of a Mafia with kamek as his consiligere, Blue Bowser as his underboss, Bowser Jr as his street boss, the koopalings as Capo's, and the rest of the Koopa troop as soldiers.

it could also be viewed that blue bowser is both the brother of bowser and a fake.
Lemme add onto that:
The Koopalings
In order to have the surname Koopa, they would have to have a father with that surname
To rule fiefdoms (worlds) they’d have to be royalty
Therefore i propose to you, that the Koopalings are Bowser’s *nephews* and *niece*. The children of Bowser’s blue brother: *Morton* *Koopa* *Sr.*
5:10 Among Us reference
Everyone talks about Waluigi and Daisy, but nobody ever talks about Bowser’s Brother.
My theory is that he became Dry Bowser (in some games you fight Dry Bowser as a separate entity from Bowser)

1:59 And then he turned himself into a spiny, funniest shit I've ever seen
I thought it was gonna turn out that the reason he doesn't show up after the first game he showed up in, was because he actually died in that one and was never revived.
Fake Bowser from Smash could still be a brother. A younger brother can fake being the older. True identity being unknown also doesn't need to mean that he's not Bowser's brother, it could just mean we don't know his name or anything more about him. I'm sticking with it still being his brother, it's the best way to reconcile the data and I like the idea lol.
If only mario stopped to ask questions before plunging blue bowser into lava

The Koopalings will always be the Koopa Kids in my book.
I was waiting for a new video! I remember you mentioned him in the most hated Mario characters!
I've long ingored Nintendo on the lore. The Koopalings are all adopted, because I like that idea of Bowser
I wonder what this means about Dark Bowser in Bowser's Inside Story. Looks similar to Bowser's brother, but not exactly. This sounds like a lot of theory potential

Blue Bowser! He DIES in these games, cuz he doesnt have black magic or kamek behind his best interests. He's royal rivalry, so Kamek lets him DIE. Leaving Bowser to take in the Koopalings. His Nephews, and Niece
