College Sports is more business than sport which I get when looking at the awesome facilities and campuses. I used to forward to the Sooner Schooner and the other halftime traditions when watching a game
This clip of the Texas A&M Band just made my day. Like someone else said, if this band did a Super Bowl halftime show it would be the best ever by far (maybe cut the lights and add some LEDs on each band member).
I watched this entire clip from beginning to end. It was very satisfying to see and very impressive! Hoping we get to see this band go the Rose Parade in the near future. It will definitely wow the huge audiences there! Great job, Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band!!
Same here. The words go through my head and the mess that became Vietnam War. I think how horrid our soldiers were treated. How the liberals of Hollywood and the media honked on and on about the war. Sigh, how teenagers were lead astray by outside influencers, paid to break down our society . They have succeeded. 😢😢
I have never see them and this was one of the most wonderful things, the timing the Precision my father was in a marching band marching band and later the military don't know if he ever saw them but it would have been very proud two of watch this can only hope my surviving family down in Texas saw this was incredible thank you you make me proud to be an American
This is simply the absolute best college MARCHING band in the country, no other can do what they do,That be that exact and precise. NOBODY out of step, turns sharp as a cutlass. My dad is an Aggie.
I am a big sports fan and have enjoyed many halftime band performances, but this was the best I have ever seen. Precision, difficulty, great sound - and I have never, ever seen lines of band members so perfectly straight - perfectly shoulder to shoulder beginning to end as this performance was. Big kudos to every member of the band, the director and support staff. It was simply one of the most amazing shows I have been a witness to in my 81 years!!!
As an Alabama fan this makes me proud to be an American! I would love to visit Kyle field just to witness the band and proud fanbase 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
It's especially gratifying when RUclips reactors from other countries react to US marching bands and drumlines. They are usually gobsmacked at the show they can put on.
The absolute BEST marching band I've ever seen! Just the choreography alone is totally out there. Musta taken hours and hours of practice to achieve this level of precision. WOW!
From a LSU Fighting Tiger fan, the Texas AM Band is so precise that no one can match them in marching or playing. These folks are simply the best period! Cannot wait for their show in Tiger Stadium this November and those who don't watch are missing out!
Being a Buckeye fan, I thought the formations were pretty cool and precise, but I have to brag on The Ohio State Marching Band. Their formations can't be beat!
@@BuckeyejonicholsI’m a University of Tennessee Pride of the Southland Marching Band fan, and I have to agree with you about the OSU Marching Band-phenomenonal!
That would be debatable. They march a straight military style, no color guard, no silks, no drum feature. All 6-5 steps, same tempo, follow the leader drill, step 2 and step 4. Drum arrangements are from the 60's at best, music is traditional march music with no variety 2/4 or 4/4. You can love them for what they are but what they aren't is a modern marching band that plays much more challenging music and drill. It doesn't mean I don't like them, I like them a lot. They are a great band for this particular school and they are full of tradition. There's a lot to be said for that.
@@budcunningham6732 Ohio State broke away from the traditional Big Ten style bands in terms of marching (half time at least). Because they are an all-brass band, they have a big sound which projects to the crowd.
My son’s great uncle Lt. Col Joe T Haney created the Texas A&M Aggie band. We were lucky enough to walk in behind the band to watch a game. Both Joe and Mary were great hosts, we stayed in their home when we would drive from Ft. Worth to College Station.
I'm used to seeing marching bands moving in thins lines to form words or animals, but marching with thick lines, then doubling back on itself was wild. Very impressive. That had to be tough to learn at first, especially with over 320 members.
They actually step through each others legs. Doing what the computers say can't be done , 2 objects occupying the same space at the same time! They 😊truly are the spirit of Aggie Land. The Corps of Cadets, the soul!! TEXAS A&M University has become a huge school, but it remains a family. When I meet another Aggie it's like meeting a long lost brother or sister. We share certain beliefs and traditions unlike any other school. We are patriotic, but not blind to faults. We love God, Country, Family and School. The last two are basically the same. Whoop!!
They have to learn a new one every week. I was in a dorm close to their practice field in the 80s and could never take a nap in the fall because they practiced for hours twice a day
Yeah, those were good ol days. Worth the extra hours of practice. Taught me what can be done with a group of motivated and organized people! This applies to life too.
Whenever I had a job applicant that had Marching Band experience, it always peeked my interest. Those who have been members of Marching Bands are eminently trainable, know how to cooperate with team mates for the greater good, and were highly disciplined, AND were used to difficult assignments! Oh, don't forget the part about competently playing a musical instrument during the entire march! It wasn't a perfect meter, but it was pretty darn close!
Wow! If the NFL gave a band like this an opportunity to plan and perform a Superbowl halftime show, they would not disappoint. This is a whole new level, and if any of the performers suffered a wardrobe malfunction like what happened in 2004 during the show, nobody would even notice.
I am 74 now! Was born in 1949. I remember it was normal to watch marching bands at many a college football game. Then came the future. Gone were the marching bands replaced with screaming dancing people jiggle long to awful non memorable music. Singers attempting to reach the highest note for the national anthem, with a strong wiggle at the end. That's not over yet, but until then this band made me cry with all of its nostalgia brought back to home! Please no more rock stars give us back the bands.
They do a different show EVERY week. Usually a morning and evening practice on weekdays. So... 10-12 hours of *very focused* rehearsal time on the practice field and many more hours of music practice.
I remember in the 1960s, bands would form birds in flight or rocket ships, taking off for space. Those were the great days of football halftime entertainment😅😅😅😊😊😊
A shame we no longer see bands performing halftime shows on TV. Now all we have is these ex-football players who just need to go get a real job who feel they are the go-to-experts.
Does anyone remember when the television stations played the half time marching bands ? Now all we get is comentary, commercials. Go Aggies
Yep, loved watching the bands when I was a kid.
I wish they'd still show the marching bands.

Fantastic band performance and I don't usually watch but this band deserves the recognition. Great job.
Went clear out there from VA to see them...very impressed!!

The good old days with a proper football half time, not that stuff they do nowadays at the superbowl.
Wow this is what the nfl half time needs talent
Amazing. Feeling like cheering up in the bettlefields

Wow!!! It's so so amazing 👏 😍
fantastic.
Awesome!!
I do. I wish they still did
Most people watching this have NO IDEA regarding the total-immersion lifestyle that underlies Aggie Band performances.
Much more talent on display than during a ballgame
It's obvious you know nothing of music. The baggies do not even have a music department, much less real musicians
Good performance
Oh my God. They are way better than my country's K pop. Awesome
Very impressive formations. I wonder how much time they spend learing drill
