i mean, it can play some triple a games, we actually had a video of it running gta 5 on medium/low at 60fps, but yeah rdr2 i wouldn't suggest without a dedicated gpu on the side.
It's a dubious claim to make, although I guess nobody is saying "it can all run ALL AAA titles at 60 fps!"... it might be able to run some AAA titles, sure. That Iris 950 will run RDR2 at maybe 20 fps average with all low settings, lowest resolution possible.
Meat Boy is actually a good game to test this with, simply for the sake of seeing if the controls allow for precise platforming. If you can comfortably play a difficulty platformer on this, then I'm sure the controls will hold up just fine for other genres.
Lantern Gamer Eh, I wouldn’t consider it not that funny, considering the whole point of this thing is that it’s being marketed as portable handheld GAMING PC for AAA games. So yeah, at least some Rocket League would have been nice, lol. Maybe something a little newer, but at the least...

@@Altroante That would be bad for performance though. The integrated GPU would perform quite poorly at 1080p, so why spend budget on resolution you can't take advantage of rather than getting a higher quality lower resolution panel?
microcuts are you sure about that? A user that had a 5,5 4K display in my phone (806 ppi) know I can know when is suficient, I would say yes to 1080p but this is perfectly Ok probably they’ll use 1080p panes in the next GPD Win with the very promising Xe iGPUs

I also like to play my RPGs on the couch or in bed and full on gaming laptop are not ideal for these experience (trust me, my balls did not like the heat coming out of my previous gaming laptop) Even when I had my Razer blade, it was not as if I could play it in the plane, too loud, too hot and very unwieldy (trust me I tried). And I already have a switch but it does not have all the game I would like to play. I also disagree with the fact that the switch and the Win max are similar in performance, the switch could barely run Doom 2016 at 30 FPS without some severe visual downgrade (and resolution scaling), while the Win Max can deal with the game at 800p 35-60 FPS on ultra. Now I get it, the switch is definitely the better buy when it comes to price-to-performance and I would advice someone to buy a switch over the Win Max. But as I said earlier, I do have a switch and no laptops. So why not buy the Max ? I mean it can also serve as a laptop in a pinch.
@Tesla First of all the price is NOT 1000 USD, it is 799 USD plus toll fees which might depend on your area or so on. But you would not be giving GPD 1000 USD ... You gotta take into consideration that the size limits both, cooling capability and Battery size. Both of those makes it that it is extremely difficult to add a dedicated GPU which are both hot or power hungry (except maybe the mx250 but this iGPU is about the level of the MX250 in most games apparently so that would not change much) Keeping the TDP of the SOC to 25W is an efficient way to get you 2-3 hours of battery life, my Blade 14 would give me 1 hour to 1hour and a half with a game like Tales of Berseria meaning I would HAVE to get it plugged in to game for longer session. Additionally, the specs are on par or even better than ultrabooks in the 800-1000 USD price and this is ultrabook class device. The switch has 4 Gb rams, 32 Gb emmc, an ARM SOC that dates from January 2015 with a TDP of 7 W (while the X1 was planned at 10-15W initially). Plus Nintendo does not make a lot of money on the console (most previous consoles were even sold at a loss) but on the game licensing, meaning the margin on the hardware is low which lowers the price. The GPD win comes with a newer x64 CPU, 500Gb of SSD, 16 Gb of faster Ram and a larger battery, AND GPD only makes money on the device so the margin should be much higher for it to make business sense. You cannot expect it to be priced competitively with the switch dude, it is not realistic. Unless you would decrease drastically the performance but then you would also decrease the value of the device. And I don't know what planes or train you are using but from my experience, even my 14 inch Blade 2016 was a hassle to set up on a plane or train table. And using a gaming laptop on your lap is a no go if you value the quality of your balls and what they contain, so playing it on the couch or bed while the wife watches a series is a no go. Now I fully get why you don't feel like it's worth it for you and that is fine. But for the rest, I think we can agree to disagree.

Can't wait to see where this form factor goes once Windows and software support fully goes ARM
You would lose compatibility with games, making it completely useless device. Stick with Android if you need ARM.
@@antoniorsoftware did you read my full comment?
If ARM can match performance of X86 I'd fully embrace that future... But until then 👎
His twin brother, Linus, is a big RUclipsr. They look very similar, but Linus doesn't have a beard.
It would be great if someone like Noctua would make quiet, high-flow fans for these kinds of laptops. Perhaps even a squirrel-cage design.
At first I thought Linus is advertising Apple subliminally.
It is, there is a link in the description
Hey Linus
Wanna run Ubuntu 20.04 on the gpd ?
GNOME 3.36 looks great.
@@tokiomutex4148 ya but kubuntu with kde looks not bad too
@@pathseeker5439 KDE best by FAR
I was considering running one of them on virtualbox
Someone hired a personal stylist now.. goodby hair gel and smooth shaven face, hello grizzly beard and textured hair 😂 about time he used that RUclips miney
It's definitely a path to take into fatherhood!
This is actually really impressive imo
I like how Linus just drops his Airpods on the ground like they were trash.
They are trash
I loved and adored the my GPD 2, I'm sure this thing is fun
That thing is sweet!!! I want one!!!!
Nah
I want one 2
still see no reason why it should exists.
Y not
When that tiny laptop has more watt hours than your 15.6"
Haven’t seen Linus in a while and now he’s got a beard. Why does every RUclipsr I watch eventually grow out a beard after I don’t watch them for a while?
Linus: Ruins a RTX 2080 graphics card with hydro dipping.
Also Linus: "These are not cheap. They are 800$."

Dude was just dying to open up the inside as soon as he got it, hahaha. He was on that quickly.
This looks like one of those old car dvd players in terms of size
My man did not just say “competes with triple A titles” and then loads up super meat boy 🤦🏻♂️
We have all been there... "Please still work!" and the classic "Why do I have screws left over?"
Linus: I tried to not expose myself to even PICTURES of the product
Also Linus: knows every single spec and port spec and resolution.
Review guide probably.

Me: b r u h
Those things deserve it
@0:57 laughed at the editing, another reason to subscribe :D
"65 Watts is really small!"
**Laughs in Apple**
Apple still rocking that 5 watt charger on the se 2!
Talking about the physical size.
2010ngojo I was joking about how apple phones only ship with a 5 watt power brick, which is TINY! (Both in size and Wattage)

You mean *cries in apple* then.
2010ngojo I guess...
Gonna say it. That beard does everything for your face 👌.
