@@jx8960I would think so. They had received a class action lawsuit for throttling in the past where they've been paying out in since August. So, I would sure hope they don't try that again. Or replace the battery if it hits like 90% life in under a year or something like that. Only time will tell.
The regular 15/15 Plus are great upgrades relative to last gen models and how they fared against their predecessors. But the lack of high refresh screen is just crazy. It is really a shame how a word PRO gets dragged through the mud. High refresh screen is not a pro feature and neither is always-on display or action button. Details matter and it is for an average consumer misleading at best. Call it differently but don't use a word PRO in the name. Or do really differentiate the phones by PRO-level features.
Same here, and I am used to 120hz for years and game usually on 144hz, for bigger screens like TV and monitors it's a huge difference but on phones where 90% of the time you're either on social media looking at still images or watching youtube which is capped at 60fps, you will not care.
The plus model this year is a much more compelling choice! I personally prefer the pro max model but for those wanting to save some money this is the best year to upgrade.
@@hayward5337tbf if there is nothing wrong with you phone (not broken, good battery life…) You shouldn’t upgrade. Unless you absolutely want a small camera upgrade and the USB-C, but at the end of the day the choice is up to you! 🙃
Without zoom the Plus has equally great photos and even the Pro Max goes to 60hz in low battery mode. With the same speaker quality and display while giving 2 extra hours battery life (not to mention the always on display also consumes battery, albeit little). It is now no longer a superior or inferior phone to the Pro Max, a matter of preference. I love light phones and 201 vs 221g is a noticeable difference, as the weight is something you will feel using and not using (in pockets). I'm going for the 15 Plus money being no object, and would only go for the Pro Max if I used the Pro features (transfer speed, heavy zoom shots, the extra space), etc. The phone is reached the point of minimal updates for the everyday consumer, so I hope to use this phone for the next 4-5 years. The next evolution will be folding phones, which Samsung has paved but not perfected yet.
As a longtime android user my kids convinced me to get the 15plus .My daughter always making fun of android but I noticed my one plus 7t pro was a little faster going thru apps and photos. But lacked battery life.
Thank you for covering the quality when taking pictures of text/documents! I use my phone to take pictures of ingredients on product boxes. Good to know about this before purchasing iPhone 15 Pro Max! Definitely going for iPhone 15 Plus now. ☺️
Plus 256 GB cost 999$ For extra 200 dollar - base 256 GB - titanium - A17 - 120 hz (imp) - action button (idc) - transfer speed via cable (idc) - Better camera cons - bit less battery (due to 120hz & always on display ) - I do worry about that bend test If you have extra 200 go for Pro If not go for 15 plus (for common user)
I upgraded from 11 pro to 15 pro and... honestly 11 pro still looks and feels more premium to me. If it wouldn't have cracked screen and camera lens, I would never upgrade. Not to mention 11 pro battery still holds longer than brand new 15 pro. Yes camera is a lot better but .... mixed feelings so far.
I’m in this situation right now although my phone doesn’t have any cracks (no screen protector) the phone looks stunning even after four years. My only issue is that the battery life is at 73% so I have to constantly change it especially when I’m playing mobile games. Other than that I’m still debating if I should get the new phone or keep my 11 pro max especially I love the green color)
@genesisloveless1 Idk how it's possible but my phone even after 4 years says 100% battery life. But I never used it for gaming or any other battery intensive software.
@@BoywithLoveeee I was going to upgrade from iPhone Xr to 15 pro. I got hesitant after I heard about battery life and heat issues and then got a 2nd hand iphone 13 pro. Camera improved massively each generation from iphone 10 to 13 but since then it were only minor improvements. The 13 pro costed me exaclty half compared to a new 15 pro but the improvements from my previous phone to 13 pro are definitely larger than from 13 pro to 15 pro. The phones lose most of their value in first 1-2 years, which means i expect to sell it in 1-2 years for almost the same price as i got it for. Just a reminder that 2nd hand might be an option.
I switched from 12 Pro, wanted a bigger phone like my old 8 Plus, and was unsure, and ended up getting the 15 Plus with 256 gigs. I really have to say I absolutely love it, and I don’t regret not getting the Pro Max at all, the 15 Plus does absolutely fine, the only really noticeable thing is obviously the camera, but heck, it is doing well enough 🤷🏽♂️
For the first time this year, I opted against the pro model. I believe the 3nm chip project hasn't truly reached its completion. Unless you're an avid iPhone gamer or a telephoto lens enthusiast, the pro model might not appeal to you. Thus, you enjoy a longer battery life.
Also, the real issue with this A17 is that the node that was used for this phone wasn't even the original one intended for the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. They used the N3 (N3B) node which was just supposed to be a testing node. The real one that the A17 was supposed to be made on was the N3E node which now will be used in the IPhone 16 linup.
@trichi827 You're not wrong here. I said it that way because the N3B node doesn't have anywhere to go off from it, unlike the N3E, which has been said to be as such.
Thanks for the video. I have just ordered a 15 pro max and am excited to receive it. To help with future videos, I suggest researching the difference between storage (capacity) and memory (RAM), as you have confused these terms in this video.
If the base models had ProMotion, I’d most definitely get a base model iPhone. For me ProMotion was worth the extra cost (as well as titanium). But that’s just me
I do feel that the standard 15s got a lot more improvements relative to the 14s last year. The Pro models not so much. The standard Pro has nothing extra of note and, although the Pro Max has the x5 zoom, it is not well implemented. The range just below x5 suffers and, honestly, I am still EXTREMELY disappointed with Apple for not catching up with zoom capabilities that Samsung has had for years.
So glad I went with the 15 plus. The guy at Apple Store said pretty much what you said. All I care about is the camera, but don’t need the 5x zoom in, don’t need all that extra space, nor do I care about extra battery time. Save that extra cash. Thank you for this video.
uhm, you do realise that if you went with the PM you would get worse battery life? congrats, you got the phone with the best battery life on the market.

If you spec both the Plus and Pro Max out at 256gb, it's a $200 difference. Also you have to pay an addition $30 for the Plus if you don't buy it activated on a carrier which you don't have to on the Pro Max.

@@TRiXz_2KFor battery life: Yes. But we also need to compare speakers, flashlights, overall camera quality since they have similar if not identical camera hardware etc. With the 14 Pro costing just a tad more, the average consumer will be wondering which is best to spend their money on.
I had a promotion 13 pro max from launch up until a week ago i just upgraded to the regular 15 plus and let me tell you you hardly notice the refresh rate and unless you need the camera updates for video or photography i think the regular 15’s beat the pros this year
I have gone pro every year since 2020, but the addition of Promotion to the pros has forced me back on the standard models. 120hz itself is not a problem, but the refresh rate constantly changing gives me motion sickness. For as much as Apple prides themselves on accessibility you'd think they'd throw in a toggle to lock refresh rate since this isn't some ultra rare condition. That said, I LOVE my 15 and I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. Pictures are gorgeous, battery is excellent, screen is bright and beautiful, speakers are loud and clear, it doesn't sag my pants pockets like the previous pros, I am just super impressed with it.
You can turn off 120hz. I have the 15 Pro and turned it off. Settings > Accessibility > Motion > Limit Frame Rate It sets the maximum frame rate of the display to 60 fps.
@@calvee1100 Unfortunately the frame rate still changes even with that setting on. It doesn't lock it, it just limits to max frame rate to 60hz but it's still variable from 1 to 60hz. Believe me I tried everything to use the pros lol

What many if not most reviewers do not talk about often is the flashlight difference. I compared my 14 Pro’s flashlight to my parents’ Regular 15’s and it was superior. I imagine it’s the same with the 15 Pro’s and Regular 15’s.
I haven’t had many iPhones in my life. I had an android then last year I bought a X and in two days my iPhone 15 Pro Max is coming. Honestly, so happy.
I normally go with the base models but this year I went all out and got the 15 Pro Max. Now I’m thinking I could have just got the 15 Plus. I just wish the colors weren’t so muted and LOVE the natural titanium I got.
Well, they fixed the battery issues on the Pro Max since the battery test video was made and I have watched a few videos where the Pro Max won. Apparently, the overheating bug was affecting the battery life but that seems to be fixed now. So that helps the 15 Pro Max cause. The original battery test was embarrassing.
I still think that the base iPhones should have 90hz screen at least and then maybe put a 144hz or 165hz screen pro motion on the pro models, still a big difference but that you're still getting a smooth premium feeling screen on a $800 phone. I just feel this shouldn't stil be 60hz on any phone at this price range and I think that if Samsung did this with the base S24 series, there would be a massive outcry of angry samsung users. But they'll keep getting away with it because people buy them so loyally.
In my country (India) it’s not even a contest , the plus 256 go sells for inr 99900 which is USD 1200 , the pro max costs about inr 159900 who’s about usd 1922 , there is a gap of around 722 usd 😀
4:30 yes I'm here after i got to know that 15 plus bettery is way better than any phone , i watched that comparison in different indian channel who just released his video ❤
Seems like the 3nm thing isn't fully optimized and 15 Pro doesn't feel like a big upgrade either. I'll definitely go with 15 or 15 Plus. The plus is surprisingly light. Plus, the colors are way better than the Pro's. The aluminium feels better too and no fingerprints!
Apple may have stopped selling the 14 pro, but every cellular carrier has them at a discount, with same CPU as the 15 non-pro, but has all the pro features. Please compare 14pro with 15, since they have the same cameras & CPU
I am still confused about this decision, i am still on my 12 pro max which i didnt like because it was always overheating but the 120 hz on the pro max is still making me confused about the choice i want to make
@@heaviest.pockets same here, but when you think im paying already a lot and can add 200$ for a better screen and specs, better than paying now and imagine that they will include this 120 hz on the 16 in 11 months its confusing me

After many generations of having a pro max I will choose this year to save $300 and get a plus because I barely take photos, don’t play games or stream movies or any of the other features that are better on the pro max. I’ve been wasting money.
Good review, you compared the main camera of the iPhone 15 with the iPhone 15 pro, which has a telephoto lens, it is clear, but the main camera of the iPhone 15 pro is a little inferior to the main camera of the iPhone 15, it is immediately visible ... And in other reviews ...
The 15 Plus can make more sense compared to the 14 Plus, which was an all-time embarrassment. Because the 15 Pro has a lot less battery (compared to the 15 Pro Max) and is not the no-doubter compared to the 15 Plus that the 14 Pro was to the 14 Plus.
I think 15 pro max is worth it for the money to buy rather than 15 plus, it's only $200 difference and same 256gb memory and you got 120hz refresh rate, better camera and advance chip.

Or do really differentiate the phones by PRO-level features.
apple is just a tired company, i guess.
You can make it with 60Hz, even after having a phone with 120Hz. I’ve done it and I’m here to tell you that everything’s gonna be alright.

Same here, and I am used to 120hz for years and game usually on 144hz, for bigger screens like TV and monitors it's a huge difference but on phones where 90% of the time you're either on social media looking at still images or watching youtube which is capped at 60fps, you will not care.
@@Hhhh22222-w thank you. For what I use my phone for, 60Hz is fine. I’ve had the ultra and the pro max, just didn’t justify the extra cost.

The plus model this year is a much more compelling choice! I personally prefer the pro max model but for those wanting to save some money this is the best year to upgrade.

I was going to upgrade from iPhone Xr to 15 pro.
Mate... your 11 pro does not have better battery than a brand new 15 Pro... come on hahah
This year is the plus definitely. Already got it.

Those 5x portraits are nice. $300 would be very cheap for a 120mm lens, so that’s one way to think about it.
If the base models had ProMotion, I’d most definitely get a base model iPhone. For me ProMotion was worth the extra cost (as well as titanium). But that’s just me
Maybe it's not being ProMoted well

I do feel that the standard 15s got a lot more improvements relative to the 14s last year. The Pro models not so much.
The standard Pro has nothing extra of note and, although the Pro Max has the x5 zoom, it is not well implemented. The range just below x5 suffers and, honestly, I am still EXTREMELY disappointed with Apple for not catching up with zoom capabilities that Samsung has had for years.
The new pros actually got a new chip instead of the recycled a16 tho & have ray tracing which is silly imo to have in a phone but it’s there.
So glad I went with the 15 plus. The guy at Apple Store said pretty much what you said. All I care about is the camera, but don’t need the 5x zoom in, don’t need all that extra space, nor do I care about extra battery time. Save that extra cash. Thank you for this video.

I saw on another review that when you use the action button to open the camera app the same button can be pressed to take pictures also.
