If I had the money, I'd be buying Universal stock right now! They're about to get a whole lot of new visitors since they still treat guests like guests instead of doing class warfare in their parks! I personally know several families who used to be annual pass holders for Disney, have cancelled those and are getting the Universal equivalent of it. I bet Universal is cheering Disney on, because they (Universal) are about to be laughing all the way to the bank!
The reason why they don't tell you is because it's probably going to change daily hell it's probably going to change hourly depending on what people spending more money on which one has more people riding it which one has more people buying the skips for it
6k for the Disney Star Wars experience Yes a family of four you get four hessian sacks and the best straw money buys you and the lice are extra you find em you bought em.
It makes it even doubly awful that they’re using the Robin Williams Genie character as the face of this. Robin Williams HATED how Disney was trying to monopolize him while he tried to record for another movie.
Disney lost me when they decided to lay off their workers, while giving their higher ups bonuses. Like why give your management a bonus when you are firing your workers.
I had a friend who worked at the mouse house during Eisner's reign. he went to ONE employee meeting, got egged by the employees and never went in person again. and they FIRED all the housekeepers for asking for a quarter raise. A QUARTER. then gave Eisner a million bonus.
Didn't robin williams revolt against disney for the over marketing of his likeness in Aladdin? Looks like that is deffy the least of disney's worries nowadays.
Robin Williams got screwed by Disney. No one knew how well the animated Aladdin movie would do. As such, Robin Williams was only paid $70,000 with NO residuals for home releases, merchandising, etc. If Disney has no problem treating Robin Williams like s**t, what makes you think that Disney cares about the general public?!?
Didn't Disney just have one of it's workers arrested for Pedophilia? I know there was quite few. Beginning to see a pattern here of them hiring sick weirdos at their parks and letting them get away with this sh*t. Wonder if the Bob's have some shady skeletons in their closet.
There is no real Disney World. It died out over 10 years ago. I wouldn't go even if tickets were only $25 each. Something tells me it still won't have the magical look or feel of the very early 1990s...
Disney: "We're going to have our minimum wage workers fill out a privilege checklist" Also Disney: "We're setting up a class system to cater to our richest customers"
The only "privilege" Disney cares about is racial, because it's something they can market. Class privilege does them no favours, and highlighting it actually hurts them.
I remember going to Disneyland with my family in the 60s (yes, I’m old). There was no Disneyworld yet, and Walt was still alive. We were a poor family, but we still were able to go. We watched “The Wonderful World of Disney” (which later was renamed “The Wonderful World of Color”) every Sunday in front of our black and white tv. In those days, they issued ticket books (the E tickets got us into the best rides). Even though we were poor, we were still able to get in and have a wonderful time. Disney was a better company when Walt was alive.
And that's the way it will always be. The original CEOs are the creators, the reason we love their product is because they made it and it was good. Walt Disney was not a business man, he was a dreamer that was also a doer, luckily his brother was a business man and thank God for both of them. Walt Disney was one in a billion. He lived in the right places at the right time, born brilliant and simple at the same time. He was the American dream, he was the personification of it. And to him, money was just a perk. In his childhood he went without often, and had his entire life to make up for it. Everything he made was a love letter to his childhood and America. There will never be another Walt Disney. If I were Disney's CEO, I would have the worlds worst case of Imposter Syndrome. No way anyone can live up.
Same. We went in the early 80's and the last time I went was 2008, in November and it was busy enough. Can't imagine going now and having to use a phone? E tickets were great. I'd even prefer the old fast pass.
My mother actually met Walt a couple times when she was a kid, and every time we did our annual trip to Disneyland she'd see the latest prices and say "Walt never wanted the ticket prices to be so high, if he were alive he wouldn't have let them do this!!!" That was 3 decades ago. RIP mom.
Yep. He would be ashamed… it’s sad seeing how Disney has just gone so downhill. They are disgusting. Definition of an evil corporation. The greediness and the way they treat there employees. Pay the fat cats a ridiculous amount. Sorry, isn’t enough for your loss. ♥️♥️♥️ sending you love.
To be fair, moving from a ticket system to an all-inclusive day pass makes way more sense and is easier to use. What doesn't make sense is charging an all-inclusive day pass AND THEN adding a ticket system on top of it.
Supply and demand. Them theme parks are bursting at the seams. If they didn't do this then there would be a waitlist to go there. I't do be greedy of them to not invest in building another theme park tho. They could cheaply buy up land in a Midwestern state somewhere and people would still flock there.
The best thing about not visiting DisneyLand for about a decade, is that I still have good old memories when Disney was a friendly company. I’m going to keep it that way.
My first trip to Disneyland was 2005, and my last trip was in 2015. I'd almost be afraid to go back. Would I spend a couple days if I happened to be in LA? Sure. Would I make a special trip to go and spend a whole week like I used to? Even if I could afford it, probably not.
Same here, last time we went was in 2000 when my kids were 6 years old and we haven’t been back since and won’t be going in the future. Such great memories and if we go back again they will be ruined so we will never go back there.
Well there goes my plans of staying at a Disney hotel for a week while going to Disneyland. Oh well, I could always do that with Universal Studios. Either that or do the same thing with the Cabana Bay Resort while going to Universal Florida.
Took my daughter to Orlando for the first time this summer. We got to ride three things in Disney World. It was hot, crowded, and miserable. She loved Universal. We’ll be going back there.
My last vacation was to Universal to check out the Harry Potter section and I was thoroughly impressed. I haven't been to Disney since 2008 and I'm definitely not going with things the way they are at Disney.
Good choice, they'll be opening a Super Nintendo World come early 2024 (was supposed to be 2023 but COVID happened) which is rumored to have not only a Legend of Zelda park but a Pokémon themed one as well.
At Universal it was relaxed & way more enjoyable. WDW you have to come up with an attack plan to get the most for the amount of money we paid. Stressful
I never understood roller coasters. Just never could enjoy them. Waiting end time in line for one when I could watch the entire movie is beyond my understood of logic.
If you wan't to go to Orlando period the best time to go is between the end of January and the beginning of April. The parks will still be relatively but busy no where near as bad a peak times and the weather is much more mild as well.
Nintendo gives us variety that focuses on fun. Nintendo even allowed uncensored games from different companies. Nintendo themselves should make M-rated games since nobody is mad when Toei Animation mad eDragon Ball and Pretty Cure.
I'd never gone to Disney or any amusement park, I always wanted to with more and more reasons. Now it's looking like I've no intention to go even though finally I have the money to... ...I'm going to go to Japan instead, just gotta wait for them to re-open.
why would anyone go anyways? they adopted woke bullshit, no way in hell id go to any theme park that pushes pandering ideology down your throats, Disney can burn all i care
As for me, I moved on from Disney and went to smaller amusement centers like the Boardwalk, Pier 39, knott's berry farm, Great America amusement, e.t.c. In short, f*ck #DismalDisney Can't believe I bought Re:Mind for this, but at least I got that for Square-Enix instead of Disney.
At this point if anyone wants a Disney experience just go to the one in Japan. Disney doesn't own that one for some reason so the prices are a lot cheaper AND the attractions are a million times better, the entire trip and stay would still be cheaper than going to Disneyworld. Just learn some basic japanese phrases and you're set!
I can attest to that! Before Covid hit, I was in Japan and got to visit Tokyo DisneySea and I had so much fun there! Have you been to Tokyo Disney Land? I'm curious as to how that park stands up!
Yes yes & yes! Their foods are AMAZINGLY CUTE, their ears are $13 (usd conversion) and their hotels are off the wall, in fact they have the only hotel that’s INSIDE the park. Disney Sea is the ultimate Disney park and omg would you believe it, actually cheaper than Disney World state side?
This is just Disney acting like Prince John while dressed up like Robin Hood. ”No, no, I’m not robbing you, I’m helping you! This is for your benefit. I’ll simply need a small contribution in order to give you a more magical experience!”
Prince John is an all too fitting character to describe Disney as.........They even yell "MOMMY!" and start sucking their thumb if you hurt their feelings!
I went this past April and I was so excited when I found paper maps at Animal and Magic Kingdom and could put my phone away, getting an experience that was more in line to when I was a kid along with a sense of adventure.
I could have sworn when i was 8, we could get the fast pass and it was more or less unlimited, I think there was just a wait time between, we went on a lot of rides then and it was great, but that was also well over a decade ago
It used to be that you could have as many as you wanted as long as you only had 2 or 3 at a time. I was like 12 then so I only kinda remember but it's the only time I liked the whole fastpass system
"let us install spyware on your phone with access to your bank account so we can charge you whenever you go on one of our rides" Ahh yes, what could POSSIBLY go wrong with that?
"It's super convenient! I don't even have to make a transaction! Disney just automatically charges me when I step on the ride! So magical!" - Pixiedusters, probably
I went a lot as a kid, we lived 15 minutes away in Westminster. We aren't even poor and can't or simply can't rationalize the price for our own kids. Going to the Bahamas for two weeks with my in laws and my husband's grandmother cost us less than 4 days at Disney for just us and the kids. I don't want to go on vacation and not be able to afford everyone who lives in our home to go, just to go to Disney. Our next vacation is going to be Japan. Still less than going to Disney.
I have my memories of going as a kid, but the cost of everything plus the experience is just awful. So many more interesting things to do in this world and for less money.
This is kind of how they used to operate up to around the 1980's. You paid a small entrance fee and bought tickets to get on the rides (a typical ticket package had A through E tickets with E being the good rides and A being things no one would want to ride). When they went ticketless they jacked the entrance fee up through the roof. Now they want to have both a high entrance fee AND you have to pay for the rides. Really just a total rip-off.
In the late 80s, I could get in for $20. The minimum wage was $3.35 an hour. That was 6x the minimum wage. Today that would be $78. That that was AFTER the ticket books of the 70s.
how many times do people have to say "That when someone SAYS something, doesn't mean it's true. Action speaks louder than words." And Disney keeps proving time and again they don't care about people or their fans.
What did Barnum once say? "There's a sucker born every minute." If you're still giving money to Disney after all the crap they have pulled, well, you deserve to be fleeced.
Couldn't have said it better myself. After I seize Disney in a corporate takeover and make it great again by draining the swamp of the two Crooked Bobs and their followers, I will replace Walt's abused "Disneyland will never be complete" mantra with "There's a sucker born every minute" because Disney can survive on its name alone as the masses are idiots who will come no matter what. But at the same time I will also utilize the famous motto of the great Louis B. Mayer at MGM: "Do it big, do it right, and give it class."
I was always in the camp of I’m okay to pay a little more for a more “VIP” experience. But over the years, quality of food has gone down, crowds have gone up, merch isn’t that great, perks are less and less, and prices are STILL continuing to go up, I understand inflation, but this is beyond ridiculous.
Poor robin williams must be rolling in his grave. He felt so betrayed and hurt by Disney using his character to market the movie and now they are using that character to make people pay for stuff they use to have for free.
@@SamtheBravesFan paper fast passes at Disneyland California were free. The digital version on the app was part of maxpass for $15 per person per day. The digital fass pass was more of a convenience thing that you were paying for, though it was a little obvious that this is the way they were going to go eventually
When I was a kid, my family of 4 could regularly spend a week at the Polynesian Resort. Now my dad makes more than 6x as much but we all have to chip in to stay off property, off season at a cheaper moderate resort. Their price has increased MUCH faster than people's income.
Reminds me of that episode of Rocko's Modern Life where they see a ski resort that advertises "Everything is $5" and when they get there they find out EVERY THING is $5.
...and how. It’s no wonder people regard that series as ahead of it’s time. I’m glad I decided to sign a petition that was made to boycott this system, because I don’t want this to ruin a Disney World trip I plan on taking in November later this year for its 50th anniversary, as it happens to be the same time of year as that trip I remember taking 25 years ago for its 25th anniversary!
First, thank you for perfectly representing my frustration! I work in a corporate environment, and my guess is that Disney knew people would hate this and be angry. Unless the amount of people that cancel tickets outweigh the amount they will make with the extra fees, it won't change. "Customer satisfaction" only matters if it adds revenue. They don't care if we are happy, they care if we are wealthy enough to pay lots of money.
The Genie App would only work, if the guest does not have to pay to enter the theme park. That way you pay for the rides you want to ride, or the souvenir you purchase.
Morons and whales are stupid enough to buy games then pay x20 that price on microtransactions. Why wouldn't they milk the morons. Wait until Disney starts offering loot boxes. Maybe you'll get exclusive $2500 merch signed by Rose Tico!!!, but probably it'll be a dollar tree sheet of stickers.
Um, that happened last year already. AP holders at Universal are already complaining about ex-Disney fans flooding into the park and this was in January 2020, wayyy over a year and a half ago! I went and they weren't kidding. Diagon Alley was flooded with visitors by 2 pm and this was the "off" season!
I mean me and my husband are planning our kids first universal trip because of how pissed we are at Disney. My heart breaks that Disney is pricing us out. Our universal 4 day resort stay with 4days of park to park tickets is only costing us $1500 and that’s without the express pass which we are ok not buying. And with airfare we at $1800-$2000. Our last Disney trip which was last October was $5000. And that was at a value resort and single park tickets for 5 days.
Anybody who upvotes that new Genie system needs to get their head examined... I don't understand why some people won't admit these changes are not in their favor. You have to be delusional to believe that Mickey is thinking of your personal comfort and that these changes will make park experiences more pleasant.
I used to go every year and it was becoming a family tradition, but with these changes I think we’re done. There’s just no value there anymore. As a family of four we can go to a tropical destination for the same price. I will now be seeking alternative vacations. I love you Disney but we gotta break up. It’s you , not me.
I understand how this makes you angry. I’m angry as well. But I have 3 grandchildren so far, with hopefully more on the way, where else can I take them like Disney? I don’t like Universal. I don’t want Disney to destroy itself. I want it to correct a horrible decision.
We are long time annual pass holders here in FL and we are for the 1st time seriously considering not renewing. The magic is gone. Disney has always been my happy place but with these changes especially these virtual queues that I have traveled to park, stayed in hotel to be present in park to hit a button, done. I bring my grandkids only to disappoint them as rise of the resistance fills within seconds & grandma could not pull off a boarding group. Now the ride I was looking forward to Ratatouille will do the same. Done.
I am so glad I got to enjoy Disney in the 80s. I got into the park for $25 I went when they actually had an off season and I rode everything. No gouging just fun. Funny thing is Disneyland has not changed much since the 80s.
Disney should go back to having an off season and charge less money, like they used to. Of course, that's never going to happen, htere's too much money to be made running the park like it's Summer 365 days a year.
1980’s also. We went on a Wednesday with rain sprinkles. Disneyland had announced the day before the park would be closed due to the rain forecast. In the morning, with a better forecast, they opened. We rode everything. Biggest line was 3- 4 people. Great day. Zero desire to go now. The crowds and high costs aren’t appealing.
Not changed much since the 80's? Dude, it's changed too much. My first trip was in 2005, but if I could go back to any point in Disneyland history, it would be 1992... Just after Fantasmic opened but while classics like the Tahitian Terrace, Swiss Family Treehouse, Country Bear Jamboree, Fort Wilderness, Peoplemover, Main St. Electrical Parade, and Pirates of the Caribbean were still there. Basically, when that "Day at Disneyland" video was filmed :)
The elites definitely know what they're doing. White collar crime all around us. Pushing us towards a hopeless system for anyone under the 1%, time to hope and pray we get out this hell hole sooner than later!
Prices are going up everywhere because Democrats have created inflation which drives up the price of everything. Our country was energy independent before Biden stopped all drilling of oil and stopped the pipelines costing thousands of American jobs. Biden would rather buy oil from the Arabs this is why gas is going to keep rising.
Imagine the following event: You’re paying $6 for a dole whip. Mickey is standing behind the counter. He’s about to hand you the dole whip, but then all of a sudden he retracts his hand and exclaims ”Haha, I’m sorry, I forgot to add the extra magic topping”. He then drops his pants and takes a shit on top of the dole whip. He hands it to you again and says: ”Haha, that will be an additional $3. Have a magical day!”. That’s basically what this feels like.
It's more like you are about to be handed your dole whip when someone jumps in front of you having paid an extra 6 bucks to cut the line. Then you find out that was the last dole whip and the vendor vanishes before you can ask for your money back
I love Disney World, was fortunate to have many vacations there as a kid and as an adult. In the last year, my desire to vacation there has completely disappeared. Took my daughter to Busch Gardens Williamsburg in 2019 and would opt for that over Disney anytime. Leaving for Universal in a 2 days and am thrilled to not be stepping on Disney property.
Kinda telling that they used the 2d likeness and not the recent, will Smith, genie. More evidence that nostalgia is being compromised for the sake of profit, and their efforts to make "new content" cant stand the test of time / isnt wanted
@@retromeister3709 I know you're right on both accounts, I'm just disappointed that they are willing to use it as marketing but felt the need to reboot the movie anyways. Like if the character was beloved and they felt the need to change them only to later resort to using the original, it shows how transient the do over was... making the motivation of fast cash even more apparent and disconnected to the integrity of the ip (even more apparent than it already has been)
i learned a long, long time ago while i was an assistant manager at a pizza place how to ruin your business. so, this place never had good pizza to being with, the only thing worth eating was the stuff we'd make for ourselves, fare definitely not on the menu. even then we could only make it as good as the frozen, cheap ingredients shipped to us in plastic bags. it turns out it's really not difficult to wreck a business. start off with a subpar product. then, while customers don't return no matter what kind of deals you offer and sales drop like a rock, you decide the best way way to shore up falling profit while increasing your margins is to get even cheaper ingredients that makes the product that much worse and raise prices. after putting all your money and effort into the wrong categories you can sit back and enjoy the slow decline of your business, reveling in your failure and incompetence. you'd give yourself a bonus if you could afford it. any of this sound vaguely familiar, di$ney?
My son had a Make-a-Wish so we went to Orlando we got a fast pass at Disney and a Fast Pass at Universal. The Universal fast pass we got on the ride almost immediatly the Disney fast pass instead of waiting 4 hours to ride one ride we waited 2 hours to ride
@@jimthar17 Yeah the only thing they did that was really cool was send Disney characters to the Make-a-Wish village we stayed at. So we met some of the princesses and other characters without standing in a huge line
Obi-Wan: You were the chosen one! You were to destroy the Sith, not join them.! You were supposed to bring balance to the force not leave it in darkness!
@@ifloridawarriorcatfan9918 seems that way with most major companies, it may last one more generation but then the business majors take over and try and make as much money as quickly as possible, don't consider the long term and get out before the bill comes due.
We'll gripe and complain about it now but when all is said and done the majority of Park goers will pay. Only way this will change is if we just quit going.
I'm not going. I'm not supporting this system. Disney was made for everyone, but esspecially the working man. And by giving them money through their resorts is a slap in the face to everyone that's got to scrape money together to have even the most modest of trips. Even if I had money to burn, I wouldn't do it. It isn't fair. And this is one of those things that's just got to be fair. It's a vacation location for God's sake, a place for families, honeymoons, getaways, and for the love of Walt Disney. Which is why I go. I'm just sickened by the incredible amount of greed. Not shocked, but sickened.
Chapek has to go! As soon as I enter the park paying 20 + dollars to just park the car. Perceived value is really important I'm more willing to buy food and merchandise if I think I'm getting value for money. I will spend less overall when I feel I'm being robbed at every turn
Why do I even have to take my phone into Disney? Most of us use our cell phones for work, or as a lifeline. Why do I want to look at a phone to make Disney reservations?
XXI century, laws are seriously behind - believe in UK, if you're homeless, can't open bank account, and without bank account you won't be able to rent a place (there are charities that help in those areas)
They want to track your location in the park through their app and have unlimited access to your bank account every time they want to squeeze just a LITTLE bit more money out of you.
@@insertname7325 I'm sure the vast majority would prefer to have a tenant with a bank account who will pay by standing order. No ones saying being homeless and having no account will make it easy to rent a place, but who would expect that to be so? My point is just that there's no rule or regulation that says you must have a bank account to rent property, its up to the landlord and tenant to negotiate themselves. Given the "flexibility" cash payment would allow in tax and accounting, I'm sure there's some of it going on.
My friend said that paying to ride wasn't news, but this... This. As an autistic MAN requesting Fastpass to skip the ride line because of my sporadic nature growing over the years, THIS is unacceptable by far! Again, paying to ride is not news, but this is greed and gluttony at its worst!
I've had a pass since 2006 (Premium) and the wife since 2012. I'm done. I want to see them fail now! They have finally transitioned from Anakin to Vader.
When my parents took me and my siblings to Disney World as a kid it we road every ride we wanted without issue, crowding or fuss and it was the most magic experience I've had. Now I won't even consider taking my kids here just because I doubt I could afford to make it worth the trip, we'll be going to Universal Studios from now on instead.
Disney's Genie Service = Disney only wants rich folks and influencers at their parks. At this point, is it cheaper for the family to just go on a Disney Cruise?
It's really not that much money when guests are already staying on site and buying 10 day passes for their whole family. No one is stating that now that people can get more done in a shorter time they don't have to go every day for a week which actually saves money. This is just annual passholders complaining that they can't go and hang out with their loser friends and suck up ride capacity and park reservations from people who are spending thousands on vacation.
Yep this broke me! MY family use to plain a trip that would be 7 to 10 days every other year. There usually is 18 of us total. I am just tired of the add ons. PArking at the hotels. Paying more for rides. Enough! i will go somewhere else with that money.
YT is at it again… I just got hit by a 67 minute ad. Every time I try to listen to your guys’ videos while working, I get hit by ridiculously long ads and have to stop whatever I’m doing to hit the ad skip. I don’t seem to have this problem on other creators’ channels.
OK I live in a Disney house. I have a Disney family. I proposed to my wife in the castle. We got married at Disney. My granddaughter is 15 and she has always had an annual pass. It just seems like Disney isn’t fun anymore. And it’s breaking all of our hearts
Sounds very similar to my life, although I live in Sweden and me and my wife never got married at Disney. But I did propose to her in Epcot, and we spent our honeymoon in Disneyland.
1. Raised theme park parking fees 2. start charging to park at the resorts 3. charge a cost of a used car for star wars hotel 4. no more free magic you way 5. no more free magic bands 6. pay per ride 7. I cancel my reservation for Art of Animation in just 9 days.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Finally as a person of the more "sophisticated affluent" crowd I have been loath to stand in line with common riff raft just to partake one of Disney's attractions, but now I can flaunt my superiority over the rabble by using pocket change to rightfully access the front of the line while they cry tears of the poor wasting a lifetime of savings standing in queue just to finally sit where I did hours ago. Excuse me as I have an invitation to join Scrooge McDuck swimming in his money vault. (His is nice but so much smaller than my vault.)
Remember when there was a huge scandal about rich people hiring disabled people to skip the line? And those people said,"This is how the rich do Disney." Disney said, "Ok, let's find out how to create a better caste system, while avoiding negative press." Disney, you failed again. God, I hope people actually boycott them for this
One of my friends, who is a diehard WDW fan and had another AP the day they were available again, tried to tell me this new money grab was all the fault of the people who were hiring disabled peeps to skip the line 🙄 She’s delusional.
Given how the hyper expensive Boo Bash evenings have been quickly selling out, I think that (sadly) there will be plenty who will pay Genie to skip the lines,
@@rydz656 I wonder why people waste their time on Social Media. I am sure you can make money, but most can't. Simply go outside, heck even a mall...they need people to buy things again. I enjoy going outside and it's something I started doing 3 years ago to get exercise. I actually lost 80 pounds by stop playing videogames, doing keto and simply enjoying the world.
I remember the heady days when a park ticket was $35 for an adult. The price of food in the park wasn't $20 for a 1/8lbs burger. When rides were part of the price of admission.
@@JoaoGa210 There was an admission ticket, but it was relatively low, with tickets on top of that. In 1971, an adult admission was $3.50 ($27.58 in today's dollar) plus $4.95 ($33.37 today) for a book of 10 tickets. They switched to an all-inclusive park admission and ride pass in 1982, which ran $12.00 ($33.95 today). It went up by $1-$6 every year, which finally topped $100 by 2016.
I remember going as a kid & I mother decided instead of splitting the last tickets evenly between me & my older brother. He got to ride the ride that took most of the tickets. Smirking at me. Me a cheap ride. I was 6 & I got real mad & walked away into the crowd. I was hiding & saw my mom, my Aunts & Uncles cousins scrambling looking for me. My grandmother yelling at my mom this is all your fault. I eventually came to the bench after 15 minutes or more. my easy going Uncle was sitting at a bench & I calmly sat down like nothing was happening. this reminds me of the santa clause movie where jack frost took over being santa and charged the parents for going to the north pole with their greedy kids and the elfs where miserable . Disney is just ridiculous with their prices as it is and they just keep raising it even more
i have several friends who are Disney nuts. one family was figuring 250 a day a person not including travel and hotel. they were trying to get a hotel close or on the area( i don't have any idea about it) but they were so expensive even with the 'package deals" . they waited years to save up. kids put birthday money in, found money, change out of pockets, surprise money, money left over after the weeks budget. seriously saving. took 10 years with airfare and price increases. they came home and the kids said it was ok but would have rather gone to a great wolf lodge or worlds/oceans of fun because of how close they are, an hour away. they could have ridden way more rides, gotten more food (teenage boys) and a lot less stress. mom was glad to have gone but said never again. no more busting ass saving for a decade when they could have used half of what they saved or less and had a much better time.
A couple of things. When I worked at WDW back in the 80’s thru the 2000’s, the company always said “ we are the finest in family entertainment” What the cast members said, yes that’s true but not our families. LOL. Disney is the Lexus Lane of theme parks. They don’t want middle class people. Hell no. We called Disney the Anything For A Buck company. If Walt was alive he’d be so ashamed. We asked What Would Walt Say. Hell no one at Disney even remembers or knows he was a real person. LOL. So Sad. Ive not been back in years now, I guess I wont go back. Oh well no great loss. So SAD.

I had a friend who worked at the mouse house during Eisner's reign. he went to ONE employee meeting, got egged by the employees and never went in person again. and they FIRED all the housekeepers for asking for a quarter raise. A QUARTER. then gave Eisner a million bonus.

Robin Williams got screwed by Disney. No one knew how well the animated Aladdin movie would do.
My mother actually met Walt a couple times when she was a kid, and every time we did our annual trip to Disneyland she'd see the latest prices and say "Walt never wanted the ticket prices to be so high, if he were alive he wouldn't have let them do this!!!"
That was 3 decades ago.

Good choice, they'll be opening a Super Nintendo World come early 2024 (was supposed to be 2023 but COVID happened) which is rumored to have not only a Legend of Zelda park but a Pokémon themed one as well.
At Universal it was relaxed & way more enjoyable.

After their "Starcruiser" debacle, Disney needs to wring as much money out of their guests as possible.
According to my experience with Roller Coaster Tycoon the next step will be endless queues and rides that all explode.
Remember how Gaston got a couple of cheap shots on the beast only to get choke-slammed to the bottom of a ravine?
Disney’s gonna fall.
Chapek has to go! As soon as I enter the park paying 20 + dollars to just park the car. Perceived value is really important I'm more willing to buy food and merchandise if I think I'm getting value for money. I will spend less overall when I feel I'm being robbed at every turn
More like Cheapek.
@@Mardukson Not true, there's nothing stopping any private landlord accepting cash rent if they are willing.
@@-yeme- I've yet to find one who'd actually accept that.
Seems like Disney took too much inspiration from EA in how to sell a gutted product, then sell you back everything they took out
My friend said that paying to ride wasn't news, but this... This. As an autistic MAN requesting Fastpass to skip the ride line because of my sporadic nature growing over the years, THIS is unacceptable by far! Again, paying to ride is not news, but this is greed and gluttony at its worst!
$10 bucks says they turn off likes and comments.
How much are American prices for Disney Cruise Denise? Can you give me a rundown and the conversion in Canadian money?
@@Thomasmemoryscentral Sheesh , look it up yourself.
Cheaper than star wars galaxy cruiser at the very least.
This backlash wasn't surprising. There's only so much nickel & diming you can do to the guests!
We are way past nickles and dimes at this point.
YT is at it again… I just got hit by a 67 minute ad. Every time I try to listen to your guys’ videos while working, I get hit by ridiculously long ads and have to stop whatever I’m doing to hit the ad skip. I don’t seem to have this problem on other creators’ channels.
ClownfishTV should put their videos on Rumble.
Universal it is! For the Fans fest next year in Orlando, I'm not going anywhere near Disney.
Guests: "Gimme magic."
Disney: "sorry, we're keeping it real, gimme your money."
1. Raised theme park parking fees
2. start charging to park at the resorts
3. charge a cost of a used car for star wars hotel
4. no more free magic you way
5. no more free magic bands
6. pay per ride
God, I hope people actually boycott them for this
Remember when rich people could hire poor people, to go to war, for/instead of them, when they or their offspring were drafted. It never changes
One of my friends, who is a diehard WDW fan and had another AP the day they were available again, tried to tell me this new money grab was all the fault of the people who were hiring disabled peeps to skip the line 🙄 She’s delusional.
Given how the hyper expensive Boo Bash evenings have been quickly selling out, I think that (sadly) there will be plenty who will pay Genie to skip the lines,
I watched the second episode of What If, and immediately canceled my Disney Plus subscription. This is not the Disney I grew up with.
All their ”What if…?” Episodes are abour race or gender swapping. That was not what the original What if…? comics were about.
@@animationfan957 If that's the case, how can anyone distinguish between the What If story lines and the main story lines?
I wouldn’t go even if I were the richest person on the planet. Disney is grotesque.
At the rate we are going, there will be a Pay to enter the line or in 'kinder' words, approved to get ready for the attraction.
Done... Disney, we're breaking up. Just talked to my CC reward points. Going to use them at Universal. BYE FELICIA
Solution: Parks are free. Nature is free. Fairs are free. National Parks are awesome.
Come on cat ladies, simply don't go.
People are stupid once in large crowds, it'll never happen.
Word.
@ Mark M what wrong with videogames?
@@Mark_Knight I still play video games daily and I've lost over 100 pounds on Keto in a year. Seems like you just don't like video games
I remember the heady days when a park ticket was $35 for an adult. The price of food in the park wasn't $20 for a 1/8lbs burger. When rides were part of the price of admission.
The good news is the majority of people are not as dumb as Disney wants them to be.
A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals- Agent K
I miss the early 2000’s
When you need to hire a project manager to plan your vacation, its not worth it.
FINISH HIM!
*Fans proceed to brutally destroy mickey
FATALITY!
The more Disney damages itself the quicker it will drop off the face of the earth. It is precisely what they deserve.
Disney used to have pay per ride ticket system until 1970s. But this is crazy.
But I heard that you didn't had to pay to enter the park, now you have to pay to enter the park and ride
He said I understand why u left your mom wasn’t being fair to you.
This new genie system is making me walk away from WDW it made me remember my 6 year old self. Walk away just walk away who needs this unfair system. 😡
@@CoryTheRaven like i said, I've heard, it doesn't mean it was true 🤷🏽♂️
this reminds me of the santa clause movie where jack frost took over being santa and charged the parents for going to the north pole with their greedy kids and the elfs where miserable . Disney is just ridiculous with their prices as it is and they just keep raising it even more
These were the same people who were giving Critical Race Theory and equity training.

@@taags Ironic since their company is run by wealthy white men.
Florida is total garbage. It’s so god damn hot in this piss stained state. Where are you getting your crack?
No more poor people at Disney parks!
i have several friends who are Disney nuts. one family was figuring 250 a day a person not including travel and hotel. they were trying to get a hotel close or on the area( i don't have any idea about it) but they were so expensive even with the 'package deals" . they waited years to save up. kids put birthday money in, found money, change out of pockets, surprise money, money left over after the weeks budget. seriously saving. took 10 years with airfare and price increases. they came home and the kids said it was ok but would have rather gone to a great wolf lodge or worlds/oceans of fun because of how close they are, an hour away. they could have ridden way more rides, gotten more food (teenage boys) and a lot less stress. mom was glad to have gone but said never again. no more busting ass saving for a decade when they could have used half of what they saved or less and had a much better time.
So SAD.
For an app that is named after a being that gives anything, it sounds more like they are taking away things from us.
When Disneyland opened in 1955 there was a plumber strike and Walt had to make a choice drinking fountain or functioning toilets.
I thought calling executives insensitive shallow levelheaded knaves was a stereotype but they deserve every millisecond of that name
