A legal rep of an European firm once told me about how indian government requests are kept at the bottom of the queue because our babus demand fortuner at the cost of an Alto and that too with all the weirdly strict sub clauses.

@@PSP-lr7ms Either you are kidding Or the point completely flew over your head. The main problem with this system is there is no incentive for any business to offer any good service or product because they know that they are not going to get a fair price, but on the contrary it incentivises scammers or substandard producers to dupe you with shady products because he knows your only focus Is price and unrealistic expectations and not the quality Or durability of it. This tendency is clearly understood by the Russians as they sell you bare bone products to win the contract and after you are locked in they pile on additional equipment to make money(for ex vikramaditya deal, su30 deal, ak203 deal). Hundai and suzuki also understand this, that's why they sell you one of the most unsafe and cheap build quality cars in the world to indian consumers but gullible Indian consumers are happy to get them cheap but they don't realise the dangers of unsafe and cheap build quality cars.
Plus if you think this is a good way to negotiate then the results go opposite to your conclusion. Nobody takes us seriously and we end up getting nothing sacrificing capabilities. To further elaborate my analogy of demanding fortuner at the alto price is that nobody can make a full size SUV at the cost of a small hatchback, so looking at the budget you should aim for the best hatchback and not the SUV. If somebody is offering you an SUV at a cheaper price, don't fall for it, because it's not an SUV but just a blown up hatchback which is exactly what is going on today in the Indian market i.e cars named SUV which other than ground clearance don't have anything related to SUV's. So you end up buying an expensive hatchback. Who's at a loss now?

@@PSP-lr7msthere is difference between bargaining and being stupid. What's the point of bargaining if you lack capability itself. How is it good that more pilots of IAF are martyred due to faulty equipment than actual enemy losses.

@@PSP-lr7ms Either you are kidding or the point completely flew over your head. Because this system doesn't work, nobody takes you seriously and secondly nothing gets procured compromising capabilities. Because the fundamental problem with this method is there is no incentive for any business to offer any decent goods or services because they know they are not going to get a fair price. But at the same time this incentivises fraudulent and shady business practices as they know your priorities and they can leverage this to dupe you. The Russians understand this, that's why they lowball the initial price to win contracts and then rip you off with add-ons that you didn't pay attention to( imagine Vikramaditya deal, su30 deal, ak203 deal). Even Maruti-suzuki and hundai understand this, that's why they sell one of the most unsafe and cheap build quality cars in the world india. But indian consumers are happy to get them cheap and then pay the price in high maintenance or worse, with their lives.
To further elaborate my analogy, there is no way you can make a full size SUV at the cost of small hatchback, so if someone is selling you a SUV at price of a hatchback then it's not a SUV but a swollen hatchback which is exactly what's happening in our auto market filled with cars which other than ground clearance doesn't have anything of SUV.
If your budget is hatchback then try to get the best hatchback not a full size SUV.

There are few things we can deduce from open source info
    1) IAF is not going to replace aircrafts by categories, for eg. All An32's are not going to be replaced by a similar category aircraft, same is the case for Il76.
    2) They are trying to come to a optimal weight which requires maximum attention and rejiging the numbers and composition of the fleet according to that. And it seems that for heavy category c17's will continue in a specilised role due to their numbers and it's the medium and light categories(c295) where we will procure bulk Aircrafts for doing daily cargo haul. The light tank is an important consideration as the earlier failed project of Indo-russian MTA weight requirement was just 19-20 tonnes and today it is 26 tonnes. Plus c130's primary role in IAF is special operations.
    3) i remember reading few years back about how Airbus showed the IAF brass A400's capability of short takeoff from austere sandy runway and IAF officers present there were highly impressed. Offcource it's high mounted turbo jet motors help.
Although C390 will still be a sane choice.

Well TBH Airbus A400M is my perosnal favorite but still I will say IAF should not be ignoring Embraer C-390. As A400 is the flagship Airbus transporter there is no way it will assemble A400 in India. No conpany will make their flagship product outside their home. Nissan wont make GTR at its Chennai plant or Toyota wont make its Supra in India. Also there is no infrastructure or supply chain in India that can support production of a big aircraft like A400. Embraer on the other hand is a much smaller company. So they will be happy to do a deal to favor us as they want more business. And if it works successfully then Embraer might transfer technology for its E Jet family of airliners which will be useful for UDAN scheme. Its definitely going to be interesting

Again putting all eggs in one basket is dangerous, hence Embraer in forray , besides Hercules and Airbus 400m is for competition between US giants. Also with Advancement in drone technology tanks have taken back and if you have urgency to transport tank via airlifting then it means things have gone far worse and such requirement is only needed when you want offensive attack. Indian military and NS policy doesn't believe in offensive war and neither does it have such capability against China.

The reason is its versatile performance, It can work as Heavy cargo lifter, Aerial Re-fuller. Since its a more efficient with its 4 Turboprop engines it is much more efficient and gives higher redundancy and lesser cost of Maintenance. So IAF should not make delays like they did with C-17 platform and just conclude the purchase ASAP. It is worth the money considering its capability and Efficiency.

Maybe IAF is looking to acquire both C390 & A400M to replace the whole fleet of AN32 or maybe they are looking to give a different role to C130 and may use A400M as a tactical lifter. Kuch procurement projects handling me MODI Govt. & Rajnath Singh ji, congress ko takkar de rehe hain
Kam to krte hain but na IAF ko or nahi Def. Ministry ko pta hota hay ki "KRNA KISE HAY"
Yeh MTA proj. me jo update aya hay isse SINGLE VENDOR SITUATION hi ayega & ultimately yeh tender cancel hi hona hay

We should buy new il76, its quite ridiculous to see our govt and forces trying to replace a 50 ton plane with an overpriced 37 ton , hope we dont reduce our capabilities due to fear of sanctions.

For fighters, its better to make a broader requirements because you want test them all and induct which will fit in need.
But for transport, such things are just weird and showing policy failures.

I am not favour or Agree with Air cheif decision. In war time or galwan time situation china y-20 single fight transfer more troops and assets as compare to india we need multiple flights. ladkha terrains everyone know it. Also this air cheif is silent as compare to last 2 cheif. i don't think they drag local nd import deals. Poor planing we are watching

Embraer C-390 is the best choice for IAF because we want complete production line in India with full TOT which provides multiple usage for IAF and help in civilian transportation too.
Also India and Brazil are BRICS members and as per 2030 new World order, C-390 could be clear winner here. Afterall Geo politics matters. Embraer could help us to establish big aviation sector in India and will promote next generation technologies from India ‼️
Deep state elements could have the same plan. Hope information is clear. Jai Hind 🇮🇳

What need take that .and locked Martin compalsary call to india. India request is simple a defence industry need . How catch this . Simple advice. When you produce in usa 🇺🇸 then that only purchase devolaped country. Reason is expensive. Now that problem india solving.
    India provide standerd employes.
India locked Martin joint production throw expensive of wepon is reducing. Then it possible to export to African market . Just understand 5 gen fighter jet not purchasing Africa they purchase 3 rd generation. Fist understand market .
This is government to locked Martin deal . Last boing and india did deal now locked Martin time .
Proper time achieve the expansion. And profit dable.
F35 we will join production doing. How indian offer. That is the way of future.
