This is a very well made video. Comparison tables make it very convenient for the viewer to understand.
It is clear that if we consider the capacity, price, service ceiling and speed C-390 appears to be the most well rounded aircraft as per the needs of Indian Airforce.
Although there are multiple factors which play a part but the price per ton is lowest for C-390 at $3.2 Mn per Ton and highest for C-130J at $4.25 Mn per Ton.

India will most likely go with C-130J Super Hercules. As absurd it may sound, but it is the most cost effective platform for India and also ticks all requirements.
India already operates Super Hercules family aircraft, so the cost of integrating this platform with existing systems, pilot training, and engineering maintenance would be very low compared to something that is completely new like the Japanese and Brazilian aircraft. Indian army personnel are already well acquainted with Super Hercules family aircraft.
Also, when countries spend billions of USD on buying military hardware, they expect more than just hardware. They expect diplomatic support in key areas of interest, like support and a voice in UNSC and other important bodies. Both Japan and Brazil would be unable to provide that. But US and EU can.
The A400 is also has similar advantages, but it is very pricey and hence would not be considered.

Will these be considered only for transport or also be used as refueling tankers and AWACS platforms? I think from the logistics commonality angle it would make sense to decide on a common model to help maintain them cheaper and keep them in the air longer at a lower cost. Running costs are at times more important than just the buying costs. That I guess was one of the reasons we went in options besides the Russian jets for fighters.

With the issue of low numbers of C17 (IAF didn't give a repeat order), the IAF may be forced to buy the best available platfrom, without thinking about the price. This makes the A400M and C-2 Kawasaki. Also, with USAF also thinking of increasing its airlift capabilities, their is a chance of restarting the production of C-17 Globemaster, a chance India shouldn't miss.

      @lightyagami5483 Год назад +1

thats what I said to another commenter above too, for 3 A400Ms we can get KC390s, but thing is Embraer is blacklisted
I mean if they get unlisted then surely we can do this deal and also get Netra Mk1s back and even more in numbers, but I dont think its gonna happen
thus C2s are better, if they are offered to India
C2s too are expensive but deliver well too plus now its Japan, we are diversifying otherwise buying too much from Airbus can be harmful for Indian geopolitics as its controlled by the EU
      I think C2s in 20 numbers seem nice, we should buy 30 more C295s and 30 more Do228s so total 80 done, and thus 10 C17, 10 C130, 20 C2, 80 C295 and 80 Do228 can make us have 200 Planes
currently IAF has 250 planes for transport and maybe IAF wants to make it 300
so the remaining 100, which are gonna be replacements for An32s, but bigger than them, just a little bit shorter than C130s, should be developed indigenously, we are assembling so many planes man, the Japanese copied the globemaster and made C2 which is smaller yet good, also the Italians copied the C130JSH and made a much smaller C27J Spartan
why cant we also make the same as them, I think we can, we need dedication

India can go for the Embraer family, because maybe in the future India can buy a stake in the company. Going for c130 is foolish though there are reasons to buy that model having 12 nos. Aircraft have hardly 4 decades of service and by that time India can build infrastructure to design and build aircrafts of all types from fighters, strategic airlifter, air refuellers, and awacs. India is already making for Airbus (c-295), and Boeing (f16 wings and Apache fuselage). Mahindra can have a tie-up with Embraer to build aerospace infrastructure and produce c390.

    • @lightyagami5483

yeah that seems nice, but bold of you to think RAF likes IAF, those Brits are of no one, they are racist AF and will not like to give them to us considering the Safran Deal and how nowadays we are countering Britain in almost everything in geopolitics
as per me, even though your idea seems nice, but I think the following is gonna be the scenario
      10 C17s
      10 C130J30s
      20 KC 390 or A400M or C2
      80 C295
      80 Do228
and next 100 are gonna be indigenous, it should be, we should do it to replace An32s
btw as you saw, we already have 50 Do228s and 50 C295s are on order
maybe as per me, we should actually continue to buy those for 30 each, and then 20 to be bought for that MTA programme, total 80 as mentioned
also this would make the price come low
and this seems most realistic scenario as per me
btw Embraer is blacklisted and we are already gonna use C295s, A321s, A319s and A330s of Airbus, and Do228 is also european, thus I highly suggest us to buy those 20 remaining ones as C2s only, the price is more but performance too
then for the leftover 50 to 100 more planes we might need, I suggest to make them indigenously
we are making so many planes from every where under license, I believe we can make 100 planes of our own
      lets hope for the best
btw your idea too was good but nah not happening as per me

okay so I researched a bit more after writing the first comment, and now it seems nice, Japan doesnt have enemy stance towards India and we have a common enemy China, and Embraer is blacklisted, hmm... perhaps 20 to 30 C2s now seem good, also A400Ms will make us a puppet of Europe kinda, like we are getting Airbus 295s, then A321s being upgraded for AWACS, then A330 MRTTs as refuelers, man, if we buy A400Ms too then we are screwed thus yeah, as Embraer is black listed then C2s are much much better if bought in smaller numbers

@@sarants4488 yeah I think we can buy the A400Ms too, I will tell you how
we bought 50 C295s to replace our HS748s
maybe we are gonna place an order of extra 50, making it a total of 100, and also further make 50 more Do228s to bring them up to 100 as well
in this way we are gonna retire An32s of IAF completely with these combined 200 aircrafts
Rest, as IAF currently operate 250 transporters, so 200 done here, and we have got almost 25 aircrafts already, around 12 C130s and 11 C17s
so maybe an order of 50 C295s and 50 Do228s is given to save up costs and replace An32s, and for MTA we MIGHT choose 20 to 30 A400Ms only and not beyond that
considering C130s being only special mission like, and C17 production being stopped, this might be it if we think via the 'AIRBUS IS ALREADY MAKING FOR IAF' route and proceed for a continued deal
OTHERWISE most possible option for taking in KC390s also exists, well because, A400Ms job is already being done by C17s, and also to diversify options and take up knowledge from a lot of countries, we might lean more towards it, given that C2s are very EXPENSIVE
so maybe this can happen too otherwise next option is just A400M

this would make us a slave of western planes, bro we are gonna use atleast 10 AWACS based on A321s, we might also make A319s and A330s as AWACS, and we already are buying C295s, and also, 10 A330s can be bought under Refueling tanker procurement
bro, this is being overdependent on Europe, plus even Do228 is European, plus we are gonna develop engines for AMCA Mk2 with Safran and already are gonna buy 114 + 26 Rafales, doesnt this show we are into Europe a lot, making A400Ms will be a diplomatic blunder and these westerners will get an excuse to use India as a puppet
idk whats gonna happen, Im now against A330 procurement btw, coz that too will put us back in their shoes, thus KC 46 A or B767 upgraded tanker lifter makes more sense now with Boeing, being too much with Airbus can be harmful

I think going with Airbus would be good choice because TATA might be able to absorb some tech and we can create an aircraft manufacturing ecosystem similar to our helicopter, submarines and Aircraft carrier. cant agree more, why buy more A400Ms and be over dependent on Europe
C295s and Do228s are already from Europe
C2 or KC390 is more better, also C130s are special ops aircrafts, not proper cargo lifters, plus such a large number of planes taken from USA is gonna make us slaves of west in cargo transporters category
thus C2 and KC390 are much much better
I would argue to just buy 30 more C295s and Do228s to have a fleet of 80 aircrafts each, and then these total 160 planes can easily REPLACE our An32s which are 100 and HS748s which are 50 so total 150 being replaced asap in next 1 to 2 decades
then the remaining 20 planes, as total are 80 to be ordered and we can think of getting 30 of each as mentioned above, can be C2s or KC390s or maybe even A400Ms, but then the number is small and cost doesnt matter
personally C2s and KC390s will be better, why buy A400Ms unnecessarily and become over dependent on Airbus
if I am not wrong, 6 A321s are gonna become Netra MK2s and also maybe 6 additional, plus if IAF brings back dome like AWACS idea on A330s then total 10 to 15 new and only AWACS for next 3 decades of IAF, along with A330 MRTTs which we are thinking of buying asap as refuelers, is indeed gonna make us over dependent on Airbus
I think IAF, PSUs, Private players too and especially the government knows this, hence a bit of time is being taken to think about something better
it would be nice if we buy less numbers from outside for the moment and try to use the old planes for a bit more time and in the meantime make our own cargo lifters for the total renewal

1 KC 390 is 85 million dollars, so 4 will be 340 million dollars, meanwhile A400Ms are at 140 million dollars, so in that sense, its not equal at all
btw yeah for 5 KC390s we can get 3 A400Ms, but the price of A400M is more coz its better
btw as per me, we should collaborate with Japan, and thus build C2s instead, they aint used by many, they wont be exported much, only Japan and India will work on it, and Japan wont bully us, it cant, coz we are allies against China, so that makes it better
although these jets cant be bought in 80 numbers, at most 40 can be bought, but I think only 20 will be bought, rest small scale planes will be bought a bit more in follow on orders, and the remaining planes needed can be replaced by Indigenous options in next 2 to 3 decades, this would be better and as we now know planes from all countries, we can make our own, given that HAL delivers, btw its TATA making them all, so I hope TATA, L and T, etc can work well too, and HAL supports them with tech they have already developed to be integrated, win win

Now the time has come where Brazil and Bharat has to come together as part of BRICS nation which has promising future and win win situation for both the countries.
