All of this is made by design! The controllers don't want you to go out, having fun or shopping. These freaks want you to stay home, feeling scared and miserable.
Our city tried to decriminalize certain types of crimes but it was narrowly defeated. Those who want the crime to be rampant have a long range goal of more control over citizens. When crime gets out of control and citizens finally demand relief, you will find more laws that take your freedoms away in order to ‘protect’ you.
My cynical side is telling me it’s by design. Crime goes up, real estate prices goes down. Once it gets cheap enough and bought out then we’ll see a massive crime sweep with new owners who got a sweet deal. Wow, for ten years I walked through that Rockefeller mall on bad weather days to get to work. Up until 3-4 years ago, every space was occupied and the lunch crowd was huge. I left town 3 years ago and can’t believe how things have fallen apart.
Had the grandkids staying with me all last week. One of the things they wanted to do was go to the local mall which I haven't been to in over four years. So I decided we would drive over and take a walk, as I pulled up to the Nordstroms entrance there was a crowd of blacks, 10-12 standing outside, sitting on the planters, smoking etc, so I passed it by and drove to the Belk's entrance I used to use because it was far from the food court. But once again there was a bunch of blacks standing around. That was it, the mall has had quite a few gang incidents and supposedly installed some sort of weapons detection system, told the kids sorry but it's not worth the risk. On a side note a few years ago the Durham NC black community decided they were going to boycott that mall for an entire weekend. It was great, Nordstroms reported their highest profits of the year due to almost zero inventory shrinkage, most other stores experienced the same.
I'm amazed that Manhattan hasn't imploded yet between the shoplifting, the subway issues, ridiculously high rents, stores closing their doors, and so on...
Not to mention the scene is dead. The kids are lame. The clubs got stale. Entertainment in general has collapsed. I need to start a family soon, the party is over.
In Tokyo they have huge mall in their subways I was amazed, clean and no crime because Japanese has respect for there country. Something sorely lacking in the US. The big melting pot is not always ideal.
Man, it breaks my heart to see any like this. Thank you for getting the word out, Cash, you rock. One can only hope that your nuanced analysis of the different crises reaches some of the authorities willing to help turn this around.
You're going to find out who caused this mess much later when the prices of all those buildings are super low and someone starts buying buildings for a fraction of what they're worth.
Lol. I said the same thing about San Francisco. Some mysterious corporations will buy up all the good properties for dirt cheap. Later, miraculously the the city will get tough on crime and turn everything around.
Yep. If you want to know who is doing it, figure out who you aren't allowed to criticize. There is no way that the people doing this didn't know what the results would be. This is the result they want.
For a civilization to thrive. One must have law and order, people will have to feel they are safe. Second; One must maintain and proper upkeep of the infrastructure. And third: the actual citizens have to be of good moral character.
Another aspect of this is that the closure of these stores is the lack of taxes which is paid to the government. The loss of the business and sales tax revenue will cause the government to reduce spending or operate in a deficit. This is a chain reaction issue. I won't go into the impending financial disaster NYC will suffer.
The thing with "dead malls" is that the only "dead malls" are those that you have to drive to. City malls have never been dead, and what has happened in NYC has a lot to do with people not being able to afford to "live" in those coffin-sized apartments. People aren't going to visit these commuter stores if they can't afford it. Non-violent crime comes in three flavors, "desperation (eg homeless)", "planned (organized crime)", and "opportunistic (people who get their adrenaline rush from high risk/extreme activities)". The "not putting people in jail" is intended to not punish desperation and opportunistic crimes with jailtime under the assumption that they wouldn't do it if they weren't put in the position to commit the crime. Organized crime on the other hand knows what they are getting into. So if the city isn't putting people in prison, they will just keep doing it, knowing that the risk is low that there will be any real penalty to it. I'm not sure how NYC is going to be able to fix this without rounding up everyone who commits a shoplifting crime and forcing them to "work" for the city (eg cleaning up litter) until they've paid off the amount of property loss to the merchant.
Watch videos of the metro in Mexico City, Guadalajara, New Delhi, Medellin, Moscow, Shanghai ect… Even “3rd world” countries have better public transportation than the United States.
