3 things that make me sad about the game :
- Rinea’s death
- It has lower score than Dates
- It isn’t the latest 3DS game because it does not star Corrin, according to IGN

On the topic of people mourning Celica and those lines being unused, Fernand actually has a line for him mourning Clive, all of these unused lines are actually fully programed into the game and can be triggered with a tiny bit of hacking (like removing Celica's Lord Status so she can die like a regular unit and let the map continue).
It would imply that the characters would die in the game, but it was changed last minute, or that they could technically die "normally".

i could honestly really imagine them being playable,they probably either were planned to be bonusunits if you try to revive them using the revivefountains,or the story was supposed to conclude diffrently.its a shame really

Great video! Lost content is always interesting, especially Fire Emblem.
Echoes was my first real FE game. A lot of people will say the map design and strategy is archaic. I agree, but the maps were so cancer thay you'd have to use your intellect to get around them. Like making a formation with tanky units outside and fraile mages inside. I like how the game doesn't give you an easy way out of conflict with stuff like bullshit stat boosts from pairups. And they force you to power through maps yourself with you own strats. Like funneling with dread fighters in front with mages in back on the hallway castle map.
If you enjoyed the map design's difficulty (or bullshit as many players consider it) might i recommend playing the Tellius games (Path of Radiance & Radiant Dawn), if you can find it for a decent price or have no qualms with emulation. There are plenty of maps that actively impede you and give the upper hand to the enemy (especially with RD) plus the games have a great stories and imo, the best group of characters of all the western localised games.
Jaxon Moreno A lot of the stages are just flat plains with 5 Paladins. There not challenging or fun.

My major gripe was that many of them were big maps with few enemies. But I otherwise agree, the “bullshit” map design made you use your intellect and an effective use of your units to go through
Jaxon Moreno Yeah binding blade isn’t the best example of great map design either.
The music in this game is just... Everything fits exceptionally well in the situations you encounter. Compared to the other games, Echoes has the better. This is my opinion.
One of my favorite fire emblem, i hope the next fire emblems will go on the same way like echoes => no waifu, no pairing x kids system, dungeon explorer, different route, more of a classic look.
Don't forget fully voiced characters. Heck even the dlc characters had voice.

I think this guy meant like those obvious dating sim shit with your waifu and be able to marry them. Though Echoes does have that mechanic, it ain't that much compared to Fates and Awakening, like to the point where you marry them.

Wasn’t Berkut supposed to be a player unit as well? And Fernand was too, but he was used for the Rise of the Deliverance DLC.
Both may have had plans at one point. Fernand cannot level up or mourn in the results screen during the DLC
Vthepizzaboy maybe there was gonna be a path you could take at the beginning where you could rescue Mathilda before meeting Clive (in Act 3, she says that had she been there, Fernand may not have betrayed them)?
And for Berkut, maybe Alm could have carried an order from Rudolf telling Berkut to join him?

The voices for celica's death were dubbed in english not because it was still planed but because they dub everything incase it gets called apon by the game later on ans they didnt know it will have an english line to play

@@JaDX243 Fae ends up getting cucked by Celica and marries some unknown nobody though. I can't recall their ages but Clair ends up with Gray if you complete their supports.

I bought Awakening and descovered the series because of the husbando / waifu stuff that sounded fun. Echoes is my favorite because there's none of this. As much as I like the pairings, the lack of it made for much more geniune and interesting conversations and character development. That aside echoes art style and music are so beautiful. And despite the maps being bland the gameplay it top notch. My favorite modern era fire emblem so far.

Make sure Alm and Celica stick together, and slowly clear out all enemies except for Jeda, and you should be good
Celica has a death quote because in the post game (after you beat main campaign) you get some content where you can join armies and Alm is always main lord from that point on, leaving Celica as a normal unit who can die.
If I remember correctly, it didn't matter if Alm or Celica died, it was still game over. I never beat the post game because of that, but it's been a while

From what I recall, I'm pretty sure there was a "Switch" option in the world map menu that allowed you to change who the main lord was at any time once you're in the postgame.

I wish I could rate this game a 10 out of 10 like most in the comments but I found the endlessly repeated open field maps poor and some of the other maps extremely tedious. I get the map design is a relic from the 92 game, but it doesn't make them any more fun.

btw,those lines for if celica dies would have made sence for a point after celicas story ends(since after entering dumas dungeon,she is not needed anymore to save valentia.she already brought the turnwheel to where alm is at that point).of course,there is no fight for her to die in here,since the only fight is against duma and he just ends the game.
maybe they intended there to be at least one more fight between her joining and duma and those lines could both happen there and in postgame.however,i can only speculate since we dont know anything about this
The Fates vs Echoes debate depends totally in personal criteria, while Fates has a Shitty story writting but has one of the best level desing and gameplay and OST. But to me they're both great because of Echoes characters, Story, Villians and Lord(Alm, not celica) are the greatest in 3DS if not in all of FE, it lacks in Map design and "balanced" bosses (I mean, those cantors on Celica's route we're just total BS)
Echoes story and villains are still poor so Fates is better.

Alexa Calamari I think people harp too much on "Corrin sucks because he's too basic" when a lot of the lords in the series can fit that description, and they lack turning into a dragon. I find the 'good'/'bad' story argument extremely subjective, because it's as if people are saying, "I would have done the story differently, therefore the one provided to us is bad." But yeah, I'm a little sick of all the fan service in anime-style stuff in general, so Shadows of Valentia was a good break. I love all the FE games except for Heroes because the combat system is just too different, mostly because damage is guaranteed.

there is this rainbowsage-dude who is actually a dragon(? why and how tho) and is basicly not-athos in terms of role and powers.not-athos also just doesnt tell us that there is a threat to be stopped and azura should just spit it out,because screw logic.also,the guy was part of a war that created some of the gimmicks...yet it doesnt actually have an explanation or any kind of relevance beyond that anankos was somewhere in there.
honestly,i rather take fe6 here.its basic,but it makes sence(ironicly,roy is 1/4 dragon).it explains exactly why we should care,what happened and why it happened like it did.we even get actual relevancy for the war in that game in both story and supports.plus,we know why zephiel declares war on humanity while garon basicly is just....possessed? why is he possessed even? if anankos has that much reach,why isnt the entire thing rigged instead of just that dude? its just eh

Did people really like Echoes more than Fates and Awakening? I really loved Fates and really disliked Echoes :/
Echoes just felt like there wasnt much class variety and the maps were very very annoying (looking at you, poison tiles)
I can see what you mean (especially poison tiles), battles could be a bit tedious... but they also kinda felt more raw and realistic. It depends what youre into, i rather liked the game mechanics. The game just has a different feeling imo, instead of very high fantasy with a huge variety of types of magic and creatures, everyhing is more low fantasy and believable. I loved all 3 games and in Awakening/Fates i deifinitely likes shipping units together and the variety of units and classes, but Echoes on the other hand has better story, units with decent writing who i can care about and also imo a bit better art.

Echoes was so boring to me.
I've defeated Fates 4 times and enjoyed it every single time. And I couldn't even finish Echoes my first play through. It got so boring and had no replayability whatsoever. Plus the game just looked empty and gameplay was just so bad.

@@thelaw6941 I actually feel it's more of the opposite. By that I mean, Echoes relied way too much with it being 1:1 with Gaiden that the open and empty spaces did nothing but hurt the gameplay as a whole. That may be seen as a strategic placement for some, but I found it more to be a tedious chore to do instead.
But that's just my opinion. It still has the best story imo out of the 3DS games and the full voice acting was great.
I still prefer gameplay over story. I'm not saying that Fates and Awakening are good or that FE doesn't need a story to be good. I'm just saying that if you're going to make a game where the gameplay isn't fun but the story is good then i would rather have Echoes to be an Anime than a game. because then i would've enjoyed the story a little bit more than i had while playing it.

Nope. I enjoyed Awakening and Fates and despised Echoes.
Barren and desolated maps, atrocious gameplay mechanics, tedious enemies, choppy 10 fps cut scenes, absolutely no replayability, etc.

_xhihx_ Oh come on! I'm an Awakening/Fates 'apologist', but even I liked this game. I preferred the previous, games' skills system, pair-up system, and online multiplayer, but this game was great too! And yes there is replay ability, because Deen/Sonya and also the Farmer's Pitchforks reclassing.
