Just been doing a bit of looking around and such and I know it’s over used but the UK already only has 1/3 of the homicide per capita rate of the US and, not only that, but they have an equal number of knife deaths also. Why is that if guns prevent violence and deaths? Shouldn't it all be the other way around if that were true? Clearly it is showing that the guns are not doing anything to change the homicide rate, you are simply getting the same amount of knife-related homicides as we do, but you also have all the inevitable gun-related ones on top of that now too. How can that ever be argued as a peace-keeping success? Would there be even more than the current +200% homicide rate if there were no guns in there? Are Americans really that bloodthirsty that it's just those guns that are keeping them "only" ending more than 3 times as many people as we do and what is preventing them from ending even more than that? I refuse to believe that for a moment. "And why would I want to take away the tool that will protect me?" Yes, why would you indeed? What do you need to protect yourself from that absolutely requires a firearm at a minimum? That's the rod for your own back that you have created by allowing so many people, including the overwhelming majority that are either completely stupid, or dangerous, or even both, to easily arm themselves with a tool that makes ending a life as easy as merely having to move their finger slightly. Now you have to live with that threat and so you can't give up your guns for fear of being faced by the criminal one. Wow I've been thinking about the PPK and this video pops up. I thought it was due to my search history but the video just uploaded 15 minutes ago!!! Thanks for the video!!
That's how I treat my single action revolvers. That pulling back of the hammer is mentally "flicking the safety off" for me...and that puts me in "firing line" mode where I focus TWICE as hard about stuff like "it's loaded"..."not pointing it at anything I don't intend to shoot"..."keeping my finger off the trigger until I'm ready to fire"..."checking the area behind what it IS pointed at"...weird stuff like that. @@dboy6400 Exactly. I've never thought of the "safety" on a DA/SA semi as a "safety." It's a decocker. Drop the hammer, flip the decocker back to "off" and holster the gun. It's ready.
You're 100% correct about the double action pull being made for a quick first shot. If you have time to slowly pull the trigger through double action, you have enough time to cock the hammer and fire single action.
You can’t shoot the PPK like it’s a modern gun. There’s a thumb rest on the grip panel because of that. I don’t disagree with Lucky Gunner on it being outclassed bu modern 380 options, but I do think it’s a viable option personally. If it wasn’t for the price I’d say people should consider it. I got mine inherited so it’s budget for me to carry
@@MLGpromyass - Haven’t shot PPK, but I hear it’s similar but nicer than my P64 in 9 makarov. I really enjoy my old gun, it points naturally and helps me work the trigger right. Stiff DA pull, but interestingly it doesn’t seem to hurt accuracy. Safety is tatally unintuitive, so if I carried it would do so decocked and unlocked. I don’t carry it because (1) no night sights and (2) cold re-blueing would not stand up to my sweat.

@@MLGpromyass Ha that pistol is not outclassed. Only in size, but you're compromising a lot for that. Not worth it. You will not find a better shooting .380 aside from similar offerings (maybe). I had a glock 42 as a pocket carry recently but would much rather carry a Walther PPKs any day, and I don't hate my Glocks.
I have a PPK stainless that I’ve carried for years. Love the gun! He’s right, it’s shape lends itself perfectly for point and shoot. He didn’t mention it or maybe the PPK/S doesn’t have it, but mine has the chamber loaded pin by the hammer so I can verify the chamber’s loaded while still in the holster, by just feeling for the pin protruding out the back of the frame. Lol I'm sitting here watching this video while my PPKs is sitting on my desk beside me...how fitting! You're right about the sights, they look like they're going to be garbage but I tell you, the how this firearm naturally points it brings them up quickly and they are extremely accurate! And don't feel bad about the mag release; I have XL sized hands and I have to break my grip ever so slightly to drop the magazine. Fun review, I'm glad you took the time to make it!
I got a PPKS .380 in 89 for my ankle/vest gun when I started as a cop. It became my regular off duty carry. Still carrying today. I'm more accurate with it than any other pistol I own.
yer killin me here... My EDC is a PPK made in Ulm post WW2 and inherited from my father. I love it, not just because my dad bought it in Germany after the 2nd world war, but because it is double action and has a decocker and a safety. It is very safe to carry, it conceals well and easy to employ. I used to carry a 1911. With age that got uncomfortable. I went to a CZ 75 compact as an EDC. Similar features as the PPK. It comes down to training and muscle memory. Yo get used to a gun as you shoot it and carry it and even a Walker Bulldog can be your gun of choice until it isn't comfortable anymore. Love your videos and this channel.

And contrary to your opinion, I find taking OFF the safety during the draw to be intuitive with a upward sweep of my thumb - very easy and very quick. I DO agree that it's easy to get on target quickly and instinctively even with its 'cheap' sights because it points so well. Liked the video, especially your 'build'.
that thing is really pretty, gotta be honest tho, I love my Bersa Thunder 380. I've had it nearly 25 years and its a great shooter when I can find ammo. Let's Go Brandon!
Walther makes several gorgeous pistols. I had owned one of them, a TPH 22. It held 10 22 LR Stinger rounds and never mis-fired or jammed, and it was dead accurate to boot !
Love mine. I was shocked at how well i shot it for a small pistol. Appreciate more weight of a steel pistol, found follow up shots were great and out of the box functioned well. No hand bite also
I owned the PPKS for many years and used it as my backup gun when I worked security. It was also my go-to pistol for keeping up my time on the range. Unfortunately I sold it when I moved to Europe and I've always been sorry about that. It was extremely dependable second only to my Ruger standard model for reliability. It also was a beautiful pistol and fit my hand wonderful. If you're lucky enough to own one be happy even though it is an older design from a different era I would buy another one in a heartbeat.
I used to think the same thing, it's like the Golden Gun but holds 7 rounds in the magazine. Why would I want or care to beat Train on Secret Agent in a crazy time to get the Silver PP7? Oh, but then I did. Silver PP7 gang, what's up. If you're still playing GE and have a GameShark, get the code for the debug menu and by pressing L and R at the same time on controller 1, you can enable all guns and max ammo (not infinite, but you can just enable max again if you manage to run low) within multiplayer and have everything. Interestingly, if you kill another player that was holding the Gold PP7 or Silver PP7, if you run over it, it will say "Picked up a Gold PP7"/"Picked up a Silver PP7". You'll also have access to the phantom, watch laser, tank, taser, and shotgun. And multiplayer recognizes all of them.
I own a PPK that was built by S&W under license. Looks just like yours, just not an "s". I love mine. Its accurate and compact and has become my go-to carry piece. Yeah, it was the Bond movies that piqued my interest, but that was all. I fell in love with mine just because of what it is.
I have this gun, one thing to note in all the bond movies the walther ppk is black. My walther ppks is indeed black and not the shiny zinc plated version. I love the ppks it’s one I carry often. Great video! You need to remember the bond theme is with brass instruments next time make a trumpet sound with your mouth it will sound better!👍😊
Pro tip: The PPK was designed around .32 ACP. In that or .22LR, it's a very pleasant gun to shoot. And quite accurate. Walther would start with the .22 PP as the basis for the Olympia-Modell...which was in turn the origin for the postwar Hammerli 200-series pistols of legend.
I had a couple of these in the past. Contract manufactured by S&W, I think. Each one "OK", but I ended up getting rid of them. They were a bit too picky on ammo choices. Seeing this one makes me want to give it another try.
I considered removing material on the bottom edges of the dove tail, but just sold it instead, because if that didn't work out I'd screw up the resale value. As it was, the shop I sold it to for half what I paid ended up selling it on Gunbroker for more than I originally paid for it.
Don’t overthink it and just get it next time! Do a little research tho, there are some made by Smith & Wesson that are very good. Mine is one of those and it is surgically precise. I forget which import was considered not so good, but there is one, interarms I think, that is not considered as good. I can’t say first hand because I have only shot my own.
I have a German version that I bought back in the 1970's and I have an Interarms version that is Stainless. HEAVY for an ankle holster and big enough that I carry a Glock 30 because it's almost the same size and weight.
@@Courageous_Lion At the time I didn't know the difference between a PP, PPK or a PPK/S, but I did know what a P-38 was. Mine was a 9mm kurz. For those of you from Reo Linda that's a .380.

People truly need to understand what/who these guns were manufactured for: police and military. This gun was designed to function well under austere conditions between the 30s and 90s, and it DID and still DOES. These guns were never designed to be for competitive shooting. They’re tanks and gorgeous pieces of machinery all at the same time.

The Germans have the design from Lugar which was to point naturally with you eyes closed and when you open them you're on target approach. The PPK/S continues the tradition of point and shoot. ♠️🎩☯️

Great video with some fun. I was lucky enough to inherit a 1943 PPK in 7.65mm and love it. Opened Pandora's box and now have several other Walthers!
You're 100% correct about the double action pull being made for a quick first shot. If you have time to slowly pull the trigger through double action, you have enough time to cock the hammer and fire single action.
I have the PPKS in 22lr. So fun to shoot. Love it. No misfires with CCI MINI MAGS.

I'm glad to see some love for the PPK, Lucky Gunner was making me feel bad for liking this pistol so much. Lol
@@finngamesknudson1457 hey man modern guns are more practical. For me it’s a situational choice of convenience and money. The hard thing about not having hella money is your CCW is just one do all choice if you can’t
@@MLGpromyass Ha that pistol is not outclassed. Only in size, but you're compromising a lot for that. Not worth it. You will not find a better shooting .380 aside from similar offerings (maybe). There are Brownings, FNs, and Berettas I believe which would compete... but these are all older designs that fill the hand better than the silly new pocket pistols. I had a glock 42 as a pocket carry recently but would much rather carry a Walther PPKs any day, and I don't hate my Glocks.
@@majorpwner241 sorry lol I forgot to mention I use mine because I inherited it so it was free haha
Excellent design.
Let’s go Brandon.
PPK/S also has that loaded chamber indicator
mine too
@@mrgirth6510 I'm pretty sure that's a feature of the entire PP series, even though the PP itself isn't manufactured anymore.
In 9 minutes, Colion casually goes through more .380auto ammo that I've seen in stores in the last 2 years combined.
I have a PPKS and I love it. But I haven't shot it for MONTHS because I don't know when I'll be able to get more ammo for it...
Trick is to reload 380. No big deal. Was my first pistol and learned to reload for it. That said my Ppk is totally reliable with all ammo , fmj, lead reloads and hollow points
Lucky 380 has came back. At least here in Cincinnati. Although its $10 more a box than 9mm.

Admittedly I don't own a PPK/S, but do own two PPs - one in .22LR and one in .380ACP. I teach people with the .22, and practice with it and the .380, which is my daily carry in AIWB mode.
I have the new Walther PPK/s as well. It’s such a gorgeous and soft shooting pistol. It’s insanely accurate. I definitely love carrying it.
The Walther PPK's are a total gem!💎 I'de love to shoot this one! Colion knows his stuff!
I fell in love with the ppks when I was a kid and saw it on bond. Now I own 1 and I love it.
The gun was designed for up close holy fuck scenarios. It does it's job perfectly.
like my neighbors evil cat? asking for a friend
I picked up and shot my new to-me PPK yesterday, I'm hooked. Great shooter it's the only double-action carry gun I own now so it does fit a new role.
This is the Rolex Explorer of guns.
No hand bite also
I think that is awesome work.....Good for you Colion......
Dude every footstep is nothing but shotgun shells. It’s like you’re walking a beach except ammo instead of crustaceans
Thanks Colion
I owned the PPKS for many years and used it as my backup gun when I worked security. It was also my go-to pistol for keeping up my time on the range. Unfortunately I sold it when I moved to Europe and I've always been sorry about that. It was extremely dependable second only to my Ruger standard model for reliability. It also was a beautiful pistol and fit my hand wonderful. If you're lucky enough to own one be happy even though it is an older design from a different era I would buy another one in a heartbeat.
Looks good , fits good, balance good, Accuracy very good...its fantastic.
You built your own PP7? Cool! I want a gold one though, shooting through doors is over rated if you can drop 'em in one hit as soon as they pop out.
👍 GoldenEye reference
Lotta good that'll do you on the other side of the armored glass in Facility when I've got the Cougar Magnum.
You are right the PPK and PPKS are beautiful firearms that function beautifully as well.
I own a PPK that was built by S&W under license. Looks just like yours, just not an "s". I love mine. Its accurate and compact and has become my go-to carry piece. Yeah, it was the Bond movies that piqued my interest, but that was all. I fell in love with mine just because of what it is.
I have a Walter ppk and a bersa thunder .380 n I love them both . N I love that shirt!!!
Bond. Colion Bond. No matter what, the PPK has always been a "sexy" gun. I enjoyed the video when Colion assembled the pistol.
Wait, you're telling me your pp is only .22 inch?
I wish they'd release it in 32 again....

I had a couple of these in the past. Contract manufactured by S&W, I think. Each one "OK", but I ended up getting rid of them. They were a bit too picky on ammo choices. Seeing this one makes me want to give it another try.

Im just saying, I didn’t talk about James Bond. You did 😂😂😂
Excellent video as always brother!
Not as much the slide biting, the actual dovetail edge cuts my hand. Smoothed and rounded the dovetail on the left side and it no longer cuts my hand.
I considered removing material on the bottom edges of the dove tail, but just sold it instead, because if that didn't work out I'd screw up the resale value. As it was, the shop I sold it to for half what I paid ended up selling it on Gunbroker for more than I originally paid for it.
Black model pistol? How did you do it while maintaining the finish?
No. Stainless steel model.
I just found your channel and you had me at Walther 👍🏻 You have fine taste in firearms sir. Subscribed!

Don’t overthink it and just get it next time! Do a little research tho, there are some made by Smith & Wesson that are very good. Mine is one of those and it is surgically precise. Have owned mine since 1985. Classic and reliable.
I have a German version that I bought back in the 1970's and I have an Interarms version that is Stainless. HEAVY for an ankle holster and big enough that I carry a Glock 30 because it's almost the same size and weight.

Did you get it in .32 ACP? Because that's what Bond had. LOL! At least in the Bond books.

At the time I didn't know the difference between a PP, PPK or a PPK/S, but I did know what a P-38 was. Mine was a 9mm kurz. For those of you from Reo Linda that's a .380.
That's right. You went to my home town of Ft. Smith, Ar. to build that one. Beautiful part of the country.
Bond liked the PPK, and despite the art, I always felt Archer would use the SIG P232.... Or I guess the P230.
Found your review of one of my favorites and subscribed. Good work on a classic firearm. Yes, in the hot humid weather where I live during the summer, I pack a PPK and also a PP in .380 even 7.65 with good ammo ( FIOCCHI 60 GR SJHP pretty hot stuff). Just enjoy the weapon when carrying it for defense. Shoots very well even at distance for a so-called pocket gun.
Welp, found another gun to add to the wishlist

Damn i just love the look I AM FINALLY GONNA GET 1 hey Christmas is here thats my excuse 2 get me over the line.
It’s still on one the best looking ccw sized guns…the new micro nines are more practical, more ergonomic etc…but for 99.99% of us, we will never shoot our ccw gun in anger.
I get everyone wanting it cuz of bond, but I remember wanting one after Decaprio wielded this piece in the departed.
Very nice thank you for showing it on you tube have a good night 🤠

Humming music… you’re my favorite.
The Germans have the design from Lugar which was to point naturally with you eyes closed and when you open them you're on target approach. The PPK/S continues the tradition of point and shoot. ♠️🎩☯️
