She wasn't an actual data scientist. She got into DS as an analyst and the bar for data analysts is much lower. To her credit, finance majors make the best data scientists when they crossover. She had a great bachelors AND she took the Masters bridge classes. She was ahead of the game to begin with. Do the work people. Get the degree. If you already have one, then it's possible to self-teach yourself data science and still maintain credibility.
Extremely MISLEADING to show this talk to audience today. She applied and did all those things at a DIFFERENT era. The market has CHANGED. Her opinions and tactics are mostly irrelevant and inapplicable now. (sorry not sorry).
It’s funny because I thought that 6 figures was going to be the point where I’m set. But today, with no kids, one car payment, rent, retirement plan contribution, and almost no savings, I’m barely in the green
I’m don’t want to be THAT guy, but I’m going to be that guy. I’m a freshman in high school rn and am tryna go into data science. I’ve done three data science/ml/ai bootcamps and two udemy courses on data science and ALL the libraries mentioned in the video (along with TF and pytorch). I’m currently doing some projects with ai/ml, but I don’t know where to go next. Can you please give me advice on what choices I can make now to get ahead?
Bro if you're a freshman in highschool you have a ton of time. Soundd like you're doing everything right. Just make those projects and practice the ML skills. Use kaggle data sets to practice on or scrape some data you're interested in. But make those projects, they can even be small mini projects to just solidify a new concept you learned or to just mess around with. You got this 💯
@@Rooftheus You will be ready to apply for internships and jobs by the time you graduate, if I was you I would start working on a resume and apply to as many as you can when you turn 18 (100+ aplications). Honestly if you are doing all that you should consider college. With the work you've put in you will probably excel and might be able to leverage that to get a lot of scholarships. Community -> University is worth considering. Good luck and keep up the hard work!
Fortunately for me when I got to the U.S for my masters in Business Analytics I also got scholarship at bootcamp for Data Science and Machine Learning…
I have a question if you get a degree in data science then you can choose to be data scientist or data analyst or they are completely different waiting for answers
Bro I love you, but becoming a data scientist with 0 python, 0 maths, and 0 machine learning in under 6 month it’s not the rule at least you are an outlier. Good video tho. Hitting the like button for the algorithm 🗿
@@catman8623 and yet several people have done it. Look on RUclips and you will see several people that have already done it. Try actually doing some research next time.

If you get a full ride or pretty close to it.

Thanks! We actually address the skills you need in this video! We mentioned the languages and types of skills u need
They do some people feel the need to comment without watching the whole video... why can someone tell me
Bro is FAANG without degree possible?
Yes it is. Look on youtube for people doing full stack without a degree. You will see several videos on people doing it.
No
