  • QUIT SEARCHING and Swing YOUR SWING BETTER today!
    In this video I talk about a subject that isn’t discussed enough in golf…..GREAT RHYTHM! What is the difference between RHYTHM & TEMPO? What is great RHYTHM? And, what drills can we do to develop this underutilized skill set.
    If golfers spent more time working on their RHYTHM and less time filling their head with irrelevant swing thoughts they would start to SWING THEIR SWING where it really counts….on the golf course!
    I can’t stress the importance of this video for every golfer out there who wants to find the best version of themselves out there. I’m confident if you follow the BLUEPRINT I give you in the video you’ll start hitting the ball further and straighter and with LESS EFFORT than you ever have before!

    I have said it before and I’ll keep saying it, Andrew is a phenomenal golf instructor. I have been a Golf Professional for 30 years and I just love how he teaches. I find myself learning from him all the time. Outstanding Andrew, truly. Being a great instructor is not just knowledge, his verbal pictures and delivery is exceptional. Well done Andrew, I’m definitely a fan.

    Awesome video! I liked how you clarified the grip pressure, that’s something I’ve wondered about.
    Keeping joints/forearms soft but speeding up the arms and keeping solid grip pressure is something to work on.

    Again great video, I think the chief difference between Andrew and other YT instructors is how well he tells the story, with every instruction he usually immediately tells you (or shows you) how to correctly interpret what he just said. That is soooo valuable. PS: I can't see for sure but the sound of that iron is very familiar, do you happen to play the same i525 like I am Andrew? For me personally that helps too, because I can recognize the sound it makes on a pure strike in the video giving me an instant fuzzy feeling. Lovely.

    "when to create speed". this reasonates hard. i keep hearing snap hard with the hips. yeah, when i do that it doesn't help, it just makes me spin my hips forward. this idea of 'separation', is problematic. watched a video from Padraig Harrington and he said it's wrong thinking. it needs to be all linked and timed together.

    Hi Andrew I have watched several of your videos and love the way you teach the game I am a little confused when you talk about minimal tension in your shoulders arms wrist hands and trying not to be so aggressive when you begin the downswing recognizing that your arm speed should be at its greatest from the top of your backswing to about when your arms are parallel to the ground I find it hard to understand how you can have soft body parts and swing your arms at maximum speed starting down can you please elaborate

    Andrew,
    Can you use this release with distance wedge shots

    • @AndrewEmeryGolf
      @AndrewEmeryGolf  Год назад

      Michael, for FULL shots it’s ideal with any club. As I get closer to the green I adopt a more “supported” release pattern! I never drag the handle but I do adjust the length of the finish position based on the distance I’m trying to hit the wedge.
      I usually align left and hit fades for miniature wedge shots. Thanks for watching! 🏌️‍♂️⛳️🙏🏻

    Each golfer has a rhythm that suits him. You can't copy someone else's rhythm. I get more ball speed with the feeling of a slower tempo in the backswing. To each his own. Find your rhythm.

    I am still puzzled. When l was practicing at our club the distance l was registering for my 7 irons creating the farthest is 115 yards longest only ( it showed on the data machine) though l was using 4 or 5 on my grips and swang faster . Perhaps l was using practice balls. You may think because of body twisting, it wasn’t because l know l can twist my body rightly , and my linear to angular was right watching your video. I am quite sure you have a very good instructional video if not the best will surely 1/2 behind that’s what l can vouch you as an golf instructor. About 9 to 10 instructional coach l have/ had followed. I like gills file because of his methodical instruction especially the placement of balls from using edges, irons, and drivers. I thought before that if you want to want to go to intended target you used your feet to do that but it wasn’t it is your shoulder.

  • @mikerodrick2430
    @mikerodrick2430 Год назад +1

    I don't believe I've ever heard an instructor say to hold it as a 6 or 7. Actually quite the opposite. Holding it that tightly makes it impossible to keep tension out of your arms & hands. I can't feel the weight of the clubhead with a grip that tight which is my indication of proper grip pressure. The trick is to hold the grip & squeeze as little as possible if you want speed.

    • @AndrewEmeryGolf
      @AndrewEmeryGolf  Год назад

      Hi Mike - thanks for your feedback. I think context is key here……
      In my experience it’s easy to conflate a firm grip pressure with locking the joints in the wrists, elbows and shoulders which of course is a disaster. I’m a huge proponent of activating the joints and it is a (skill) to mobilize the wrists while maintaining good grip integrity!
      Bear in mind that a (consistent) grip pressure throughout the swing is important. If you’re moving the club at well over 100mph you don’t want to be gripping at a 4/10! If you’re putting and require very little leverage of course you do.
      It’s an interesting topic for sure. Just remember if you start at a 4/10 grip pressure with a driver, you’re ironically highly likely to increase dramatically as you change direction which could influence the release negatively! I hope that makes sense and thanks for your comment. Best! 🏌️‍♂️⛳️🙏🏻

    • @AndrewEmeryGolf
      @AndrewEmeryGolf  Год назад

      Hi Michael, that’s the point. Most swings have a violent disruption with the body in transition.
      That often causes excessive tension in the joints. If you relax your arms and swing easy the ball mysteriously goes further!
      Less tension allows the arms to swing freely and the wrists to articulate which creates a lot of effortless speed! That’s what this video is demonstrating.
      Thanks for watching.
