Do a search and see how many videos stop at removing the internal door handle cable. It almost seems as if it is the forbidden zone. "Don't remove the complicated door handle cable."
Thank you for showing me a video with every step in it on the door panel on this specific vehicle you are the man for showing me every single step double thumbs up awesome 😎
You can use trim tools and attempt to remove it from the top, but it is easier to follow the panel removal procedure. Look for the long rectangular pins with clips on the underside of the switch plate. Some have white plastic on them and some have black metal. Carefully push up on these from the underside to remove switch plate.
There's no specific cover behind the panel that protects your switched/electronics. The multi-layered cloth type material behind the panel is an insulation. It might offer some protection. The plastic liner only covers the outside lower 1/4 of the door. Unfortunately, you will have to remove the panel to replace any liner behind the door panel.
Just out of curiosity, why did you need to remove the door panel in the first place? I'm looking to remove mine because the glass doesn't act like it rolls up quite all the way and it shakes and makes noise every time I go over a bump. Hoping there's a manual adjustment in there to tighten it up in the channel some. Thanks
I removed the panel in order to completely remove the window glass. I removed the glass to tint it. I was able to take the window indoors and get a much cleaner tint install. There is another video on my channel that covers the window glass. ruclips.net/video/LT-qJr8Z41o/видео.htmlsi=3KCElE-FywnMiYo3 It will more than likely be your window regulator that is causing the closure issue. The window glass locks in place with plastic clips that aren't adjustable. Check window channel for obstructions. Reset window motor/regulator- turn key to accessory (not start). Push window switch all the way down so window goes all the way down. Quick pull the window switch so the window goes all the way up without having to hold switch. As the glass approaches the very top, pull the switch up and hold for two to three seconds. If window bounces back down a little, pull the switch again and hold for two to three seconds. This procedure is resetting/relearning stop point for window. This may not help the 1st time, but try it again.
Do you know if that clear plastic film that seems to have some some of adhesive can be removed and put back together? Or do you have to replace it once to remove it?
If you heat it up with a hairdryer it will bond again. If it doesn't you can buy some butyl sealant tape... auto parts store or home improvement store,
Do you know if you can change out the plastic piece next to the lock/unlock switch that touches the brown leather? The piece that would be wood in the platinum or carbon fiber in the limited.
I don't believe you can change them out. On the backside there are posts that are plastic welded (mushroomed) in place. You could remove them, but you have to have new ones that you could plastic weld back in place. If you look up these specific replacement pieces you will see that they are only covers that go over the originals with 3M tape. I'm going to remove mine (although trying to avoid) to find a rattle I believe that's coming from behind the panel. When you took yours off, did you see anything that be loose enough to banging around?
You may have one of the door panel retainers broken off at the bottom inside of the door. Also, if something got slid between the rubber seal and the window from the inside, it could be sitting somewhere inside your door causing the rattle. Or, you may just have a cable loose that is causing the noise.
@@vtxrider1800r The quality control just isn't there like it used to be. I had a 2010 Platinum for 11 years with no problems and no recalls. This one is problem after problem.
It is amazing how it is made out to be complicated. I think some people get overwhelmed by the number of screws around it and think it involves removing all of the screws.
OUTSTANDING VIDEO and you are correct NOBODY shows how to take the cable off the handle! Thank you VERY MUCH, you have saved me a lot of time.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Love the enthusiasm! Glad to help out.

Thanks for the video. I really need to just replace the drivers side window switch assembly. How did you do that?
