These prices sound nice until I realize they're in USD not CAD lol. I'm leaning toward buying the 3s though, since my only experience with VR is phone VR from a long time ago, and Fresnel lenses will still be a massive upgrade from the crap that made me think VR was a gimmick all those years ago.

The continuous IPD adjustment missing from the 3S was the deal breaker for me on that, otherwise I totally would've gotten two 3S headsets. I had a similar problem with the dark edges. I fixed a lot of by adjusting how far my eyes were from the lenses. Then I think I just got used to rest. I now prefer the Quest 3 lenses. But they weren't a clear winner. They have greater sharpness, but they have different type of lens flare to deal with instead of the godrays and their max brightness isn't as high. There's just a different set of tradeoffs. If you end up with a Quest 3S with older lenses, don't feel like you're missing out too much. Amen on the controller rings. I'd love to go back to the ring controllers. They were way more reliable.

Great review - I noticed you mentioned the lowest the PPD goes for the Quest 3 is 53. Question - in my headset it show the lowest being 58 then "min" - is this normal? Does anyone elses Quest 3 actually show "53" on the screen in the headset on the screen when you adjust it?
@exozoid7883 Hi exozoid - thanks for your message. I know that it shows it on the screen, and mine does, but when I adjust the dial, the lowest number it shows on my screen is 58, then it shows "min" Example : My screen says : 60, 59, 58, min. It doesn't say: 58,57,56,55,54, down to 53. I'm just wondering if that is normal or if anyone else's Quest 3 actually shows the numbers all the way down to 53 when they adjust the dial
@@gregfreeze8649 I forget where my numbers stop. But I can tell you they claim a larger range on the Quest 3 than you can actually adjust. That's because the Quest 3 pancake lenses still allow you see clearly when you're a little off center. You can't be way off, but a little. So while you can't adjust down to that lowest IPD, if you're eyes are at that lower level, you should still be able to see clearly. That lets them claim a larger range than yo can actually dial to. So your experience with the dial is normal.

So what’s really better thooo I’m thinking getting one I have two 2 bit controllers are fucked up and have stickdrift and I need to know what’s better tho the 3 is 500 or less and 3s is like 300 so idk
I have Quest 2 w 512GB, and I am glad I paid extra. However, as you have stated, I am playing less and less of it. It is not everything it was hyped to be. I was really excited to hear about the upgrades. But feel like it is only gonna let me down again. The amount of games that are out for it just do not make sense to me. Then I learned that I was able to link it to my computer and that changed a lot of things. When you link it up it no longer really uses the headset and relies more on the computer so for now I think I am just gonna hold of on buying something new with upgrades since my Quest 2 works pretty good. The only game I am really looking forward to seeing in VR is the new FPS Body cam. That game looks insane. Playing it in VR would need more space than I currently have dedicated to my play area. We will see. I really like your review and think it helped make my decision to hold off. Thanks.
What's the game you were talking about in which you are in a human body, fighting viruses and bacteria. I went back and could not find it again. Thanks
As someone who owns a Quest 3 and a PSVR2, if you have a PS5 the PSVR2 could be the better and cheaper option. If you just care about solo immersive gaming then the PSVR2 will be the better and cheaper option. It has eye tracking, headset haptics, advanced haptic feedback, better graphics, better field of view, better audio quality, and used OLED panels so the colors are significantly better, and blacks actually mimick darkness instead of a dark grey light. If you care about mixed reality, youtube, netflix, need it to be mobile, or dont have a ps5 you should go for the Quest. Both are great.
depends on if being able to see the screen-door effect will bother you (where you can make out the pixels of the display). It's not Vision-Pro quality. The Quest 3 is not that far off though. But if you wanna just have the ability to watch RUclips on a big virtual screen, they can def do that.
from my personal experience, you don't notice the screen door effect. its good for watching short videos, but your forehead goes numb if you watch hour long videos.
Body tracking is still holding back VR... If more games could utilize body tracking there is a giant realm of gaming possibilities... SlimeVR is making that a lot more affordable but it's literally just getting off the ground in usability and between that and the price of the headsets that's a lot of money to put in for the VR experience with rather limited (some would say Indie) games available. In fact a lot of people say that the best games are found inside different VR chat platforms (not sure if that's the right word for it)... some might chime in with how great some of the other body tracking is but it's very expensive for full tracking. And all of it is just expensive in general.
Luxury brands only change their strategies for the super rich...The price increases of Fendi, LV, Givenchy and the like are nonsense. Therefore, those ordinary rich people or middle- and upper-class people who can really afford it need to think twice before buying it. If they are just looking to save face, they will buy from kislux .
As in the quest 1? If so, definitely. I remember when I got a quest 2 after using a quest 1 and the difference was very noticeable. I got a 3s last night and I’ve racked up about 6 hours of playing time as of today. The 3s is definitely better than the 1 and 2, and I’m sure the 3 ks an even better upgrade
Okay, so I'm here as a complete "noob". Ive been a gamer my whole life, but my tech knowledge stops around the PS4, but I have a son who's wanted one of these for a while now, and honestly, I have always wanted one, lol. Now that he's a little older, and with Christmas coming up, can anyone say if we would even notice a difference between the 3 and 3s? Id almost rather get x2 3s for the price of one 3. We have no frame of reference, and im assuming theres going to be another initial cost for some monthly/yearly subscription to even play the games? Or is it free and the games cost money?
He would notice minor differences if he plays the both of them. The 3 had pancake lenses, while the 3s has the same fresnel lenses as the 2. The both use the same graphics chip, but the 3 has slightly better resolution due to the lenses. There is a subscription fee, only if you use Quest+, but outside of that, a one time fee for games, typically ranging from 9.99 - 59.99, but most are in the $10 - $30 range, and they offer a lot of deals and sales. And there are plenty of fun, free games and apps to choose from as well. All-in-all, they'll have a blast with either headset. Maybe even more of a blast if you decide to pick up two 3s, and join in on the fun.
I've worn my glasses with both and it's fine for what I've used them for. The 3 has a glasses spacer built into them which makes it a bit more convenient while the 3S comes with a glasses spacer you pop in. - Josh
I’m getting the 3s because rn Amazon has it for 299.99 plus 3 months of meta quest + Batman Arkham shadows. And $100 credit for Amazon. I was a little bummed out because I thought it was the 3 but I’m still excited to get it for a good deal
I know wealthy women who carry replicas. The main reason they gave is that they just understand the value of money and don't want to spend too much money on bags... so more people choose fashionable kislux bags. However, they do spend a lot of money on fine jewelry and other things.
I have the Rift S which stopped working (probably cable) and I would stay with it forever if it kept working, now I'm still breaking my head over if to get the better FOV headset as Quest 3 or the lesser lenses via Quest 3S... I - really - don't - know! I'm planning on playing driving simulators among the rest...
I had the Quest 3 for a month. It's a fascinating device. However, I was let down with two factors; 1. Multi-tasking let's you detatch up to 3 programs with 3 more attched programs. 2. The pass through was no where NEAR as good as I expected to be, especially with seeing the passthrough on RUclips videos that made it look WAAAAY better. Useable, but far less than expected. I sold that a few days ago and got The Quest 3S just today as of me typing this on The Quest 3S. The passthrough quality between the 3 and 3S is as trivial as you implied. I was actually overwhelmed by the minimal difference. But I noticed more perks on the Quest 3S that you didn't bring up; 1. Because there are TWO handtracking sensors (vs one on The Quest 3) making for noticably more accurate tracking and input functionabilities. 2. Passthrough button. You can still double tap on the Quest 3S, but there is also a passthrough button making for a more convienent switch Storage is for me personally a trivial matter as if I am using a phone/tablet because I don't install too much games. But when you can get The Quest 3S for 60%-80% of the price of The Quest 3 (128GB-256GB respectively), I'd say you're doing yourself is an overwhelming favor. Meta did WELL with their pricings (at least AFTER Quest 3's price dropped ;P).
People if you can afford it, GET THE QUEST 3!! My friend was going to get the “new” 3s, and when I explained it’s actually just a cheaper version, he got the quest 3. The biggest reason I say get the quest 3 is my motion sickness went away pretty much 100%, and Im sure it’s the lenses and frame rate. Just my two cents.
The fashion world changes quickly, and high imitation allows me to change styles frequently and keep up with trends. Friends, let me unveil the mystery of kislux for you. Hopefully you guys didn't spend too much money on fine jewelry and stuff.

Thanks.
The only problem for me is i just dont have the money for Quest3
I just got my quest 3 finding lot of pressure on eye sockets an heavy on head.
What's the game you were talking about in which you are in a human body, fighting viruses and bacteria. I went back and could not find it again. Thanks
I also wonder if I will use it enough to make it worth while
Love the vid! might actually get the more expensive one. The lense i think is pronounced frenel. The s is silent
Thank you for your efforts
Quest 3 is worth it for the pancake lenses. They are top of the line and make a big difference.
Why does no one talk about corn with these reviews? I just wanna see some 3D diddies tbh
Interesting

Getting a quest 3 soon as my first ve
Are they also good for watching video?
depends on if being able to see the screen-door effect will bother you (where you can make out the pixels of the display).
Pronounced Frenel lenses. It is a silent S. Minor suggestion.
Came here to write the exact same thing. Fresnel = "Fren-elle". Named after the French physicist (Augustin-Jean Fresnel) who invented them.
Can you switch the lenses on the quest 3s?
Sadly no
Luxury brands only change their strategies for the super rich...The price increases of Fendi, LV, Givenchy and the like are nonsense. Therefore, those ordinary rich people or middle- and upper-class people who can really afford it need to think twice before buying it. If they are just looking to save face, they will buy from kislux .
I have the original quest is either one an upgrade?
What do you recommend for a first time purchase for a 9 yr old???
Def the 3S
Anyone know if either of these do well while wearing glasses?
I've worn my glasses with both and it's fine for what I've used them for. The 3 has a glasses spacer built into them which makes it a bit more convenient while the 3S comes with a glasses spacer you pop in. - Josh
The quest 3 has 110° horizontal and 96° vertical, and the quest 2 and 3s have 96° horizontal and 90° vertical, not 96° and 96°
Its pronounced freh nell lenses.
I’m getting the 3s because rn Amazon has it for 299.99 plus 3 months of meta quest + Batman Arkham shadows. And $100 credit for Amazon. I was a little bummed out because I thought it was the 3 but I’m still excited to get it for a good deal
Is it worth it to get the extended warranty?
no, at that point i would recommend to get the quest 3
for me the quest 3s and quest 3 are minor price difference by 100 usd btw i live in czech republic
So which one is better the 3 or 3s
if your looking for alot of space, the quest 3 would be a better option.
It depends id think you’d be happy with rather one
So.. in short?
uhh I have apple vision pro and vr 3s and vr 3 and vr 2 and vr 1
I'm getting the 3S I 'm only using it for VR Chat
$60 referral bonus on the store as well if you sign up using a link for referral. Let me know if you need one
I need one?
The s in fresnel is silent
Thank you so much god bless you✝️✝️✝️
I thought this video was 6 months old
WHAT IF YOU AHVE GLASSES
Im not sure which one even after watching the vid
Got the 3S from Amazon Warehouse Deals, but I'll return it for the Quest 3. Thanks for the info.
I know wealthy women who carry replicas. The main reason they gave is that they just understand the value of money and don't want to spend too much money on bags... so more people choose fashionable kislux bags. However, they do spend a lot of money on fine jewelry and other things.
hearing that the 3s didn't have a headphone jack immediately turned me off from it. Thank you!
diddy would need the lenses to be touching..
Why have the called the worse one ‘S’ that’s bizarre
Very common for consoles. S for slim
@@Nik-Dybdahl s for silly
I have the Rift S which stopped working (probably cable) and I would stay with it forever if it kept working,
now I'm still breaking my head over if to get the better FOV headset as Quest 3 or the lesser lenses via Quest 3S...
I - really - don't - know!
I'm planning on playing driving simulators among the rest...
I had the Quest 3 for a month. It's a fascinating device.
However, I was let down with two factors;
But I noticed more perks on the Quest 3S that you didn't bring up;
1. Because there are TWO handtracking sensors (vs one on The Quest 3) making for noticably more accurate tracking and input functionabilities.
2. Passthrough button. You can still double tap on the Quest 3S, but there is also a passthrough button making for a more convienent switch
Storage is for me personally a trivial matter as if I am using a phone/tablet because I don't install too much games. But when you can get The Quest 3S for 60%-80% of the price of The Quest 3 (128GB-256GB respectively), I'd say you're doing yourself is an overwhelming favor.
Meta did WELL with their pricings (at least AFTER Quest 3's price dropped ;P).
So basically the 3s is a waste of money. Save up another month or so and get the 3
people complaining about the 128 GB Quest 3 meanwhile I'm still out here suffering with a 3 year old 64 GB quest 2!! lol
50 seconds in is enough for me to make my decision. I can’t stand the lenses on the quest 2
OMG this guys eyes are beautiful
Yikes... I payed $700 even for the quest 2 at BestBuy... in 2022 🤕
People if you can afford it, GET THE QUEST 3!!
100 likes and he buys me an meta quest 3s
only here to choose for a gift
I hate watching reviews for gifts I'm buying other people because It makes me want to get one too XD
