The house band here is really doing a remarkable job recreating The Motown Sound and the guys are amazing as always. I love The Mike Douglas Show. You have to imagine, this was daytime television, so the majority of the audience was going the be the suburban housewife or suburban dad who might have been home on this day. Mike Douglas introduced a LOT of the newer music to these adults, these moms and dads who might not otherwise know who these artists were. It's like a talk show today introducing the newest in Hip Hop or Rap or Pop to an older audience who might not know the music their kids are listening to. I didn't really appreciate Mike Douglas back then but I do a lot more now.
