When I turn the ring the screen gets darker, but the focus plane stays the same until I press the shoot button halfway. Only then it shows the real aperture set with the ring. Is it me, or should I get the right aperture on screen all the time so my focus peaking is true to what I'm going to shoot?
I'm new with the lens, so I don't know if it's caused by a firmware update.
Hey can you review the Sigma 18-35 F/1.8? I know it doesnt have native support for fuji but would love to hear your thoughts.
Been using it since I got my xt3. Works like a charm, great for video but will miss the af though.
how is micro contrast?
ken i have a nikon 70 300 4.5-5-6G VR i can sell it for 300$ where i live. I was thinking on buying the nikon 80 200 AFD for 400$. Do you think that I make a good decision? Is the 80 200 better than the 70 300? I will shoot portraits and events
@Prashanth Panicker ditto ditto ditto and ditto. 80-200mm is bigger, heavier, n yes slower, but it renders soooooo much better.
@@akunosenshi With 80-200 (no different) you will get more itneresting images, in fact, you willg et more usufel photos, they always will looks better then from 70-300.
Well, I hope it is the newest version of 80-200 which is better, not the pump one. 👍🏻
@@nerdMike as people say, best is a version 3, AF-D, not last one - not AF-S version, because of AF motors of them broking often. Adn there is no different in optical quality in fact, or maybe just a very little different.
@@kobakakhidze100 I was meaning the AFD with dual ring . Low price here. 👍🏻 can find if lucky maybe the first afs 80_200 with slow af for that price but it's not 2.8.
Fuji opened up their mount to third party manufacturers so maybe I'll wait for the Sigma trio (16mm 1.4, 30mm 1.4, 56mm 1.4) and their made in Japan, not CPP-virus capital of the world.
Same here. But in my case im waiting for tamron or tokina. Not a big fan of sigma
@@Stories_4_Everyone The Tokina versions of these lenses look quite nice actually, I wonder if they will coat them differently to reduce the flare issue..
sigma = JUNK
Thanks Ken. Now the next 23mm 1.4!
Thanks for your efforts Ken. Great honest review. Will definitely get this for my Eos-M6ii
Nice review mr Ken !!
I wanna ask, is it worth if i sell my fujinon 35mm f1.4 to buy this lens? Is viltrox 33mm really better?
Hi if you can then buy the viltrox 33mm 1.4 and compare using it with the Fuji 35mm 1.4. Both lenses have their own character, you may like and keep both lenses or maybe just one lens this way you can test without any regrets. But for me I have the 35-1.4/ 35-2 and now the viltrox 33-1.4 and I love all three lenses.
Do you have a sample raw photos available for download?
Any comments on the VILTROX AF 23MM F1.4 XF-Mount?
its coming
Ken, again a great review. I just bought my copy and can't wait to get it. Stay safe!
Fast moter in it for vid?
According to one of Andrew's review of this lens, he said viltrox 33 mm f1.4 has chromatic aberration and Fuji 35mm f2 has none with test shots.
33... lol. Nothin about you, it's just that that number has been following me since 2015.
They always die or kill or rise up or are disappeared at that age. Numerology is powerful.
How about Viltrox 23mm 1.4, 33mm 1.4, and 55mm 1.4 to their countepart Fuji XF Lenses soon
I appreciate your efforts and your honest reviews :)
What about the famous character shown by the fujifilm 35mm f1.4? After this, fujifilm won't sell a single 35mm f1.4. They know they have to renew the older lenses, 35mm, 18mm, 27mm (they won't do the 60mm macro because they have the 80mm)
Thanks for your review on this lens. Very informative.
aaaaahhhh I just got an me email saying that my order will be refunded as they sold out.
that sucks.. how long ago did you order? I ordered mine about 6 days ago and no indication of it being sold out.
@Comfy Reviews ordered mine a week ago from aliexpress,
still hasn't shipped :-(
How is focus breathing? If there is a much breathing then is unusable for video.
please compare this lense with xf 35mm f1.4
Instantly subbed. Cant believe i havent stumbled on to you before on YT
No weather sealing I assume?
i just didnt mention it, but nothing NOTHING is weather sealed
@@KenTheoriaApophasis thank you i thought that is what i read/heard but couldn't find it readily. also, i did mean weather resistant (rather than sealed), but faster fingers than mind at times.
Think Im gonna try this lens, Ken. Thanks
Great info! Did you try it for infrared? ……..Please? lol
I have the 23mm, the 33mm and the 56mm lenses from Viltrox. I am going to get the 85mm II version.....I understand that you can actually change the f1.8 to an F1.6 via an upgrade. Not sure how they did it but I have friends who have done it and they do say it did work.
I wonder when camera companies will upgrade their cameras and lenses to focus on FACE DIAPERS? To quote Billy idol.....
"Eyes without a face....got no human grace....eyes without a face. "
yeah but it doesnt really change anything
@@KenTheoriaApophasis I figure the only thing it changes is the indication of 1.8 and makes into 1.6. So what it does in effect is make an 8 into a 6. Could it be the new math that everyone talks about?
Which is better 33 or 23? I have their 85 mk2 and it's awesome.
Wish they come up with 100 -400 mm for wildlife
