Stop trying to avoid the anxiety attack (or work up to not avoiding it) it can't hurt you. If it's not rational, just let it happen and don't react. Eventually, your body and brain will recalibrate, and you'll stop having panic attacks about things that should not induce panic. If the anxiety is based on an actual threat of potential real harm (an anxiety attack alone does NOT constitue a real threat) *then* take measures to avoid the threat.

It is having methods prepared before triggers and flashbacks.
For example Mel Robbins talked about it - to enter already prepared to not get triggered before any social situation. Your own decision beforehand can prevent dysregulation pattern occurring later on.
      Another method is writing.
That you put on paper your thoughts and clarify what is bothering you, what is actual problem - what you think causes it and what can you do about it.
I do this through blog - and it helped me tremendously.
Anxiety springs up due to toxic people. Predatory personalities do have influence on our mindset more than it is acknowledged.

The big thing that has helped me with social anxiety. is learning people are thinking about themselves. People are too wrapped up with themselves. That's why I don't take it personally if people laugh at me or don't want to talk to me. I still struggle with social interactions . Like keeping conversations going . But I don't beat myself self up about having social anxiety anymore as I understand I can't help it . People who are naturally out going don't have the struggle with interacting with people . Because they don't have the fear of social interactions. Like us with social anxiety do. If people show disrespect they lack respect. That's why I don't take it personally if people are disrespectful. Or over react and make a fuss about nothing. I can accept that Im shy and socially awkward. But I always try and make small talk with people.

I always find it funny how it is the people who don't suffer from anxiety that claim these things. It's not that simple at all. I can go into a situation thinking only positively and I still feel anxious. It goes much deeper than your thoughts. In my situation anyway. I don't expect to ever get to the bottom of it so I just get on with it.

Thinking of something different can be useful but if that's all you do it can be damaging in the long g run.
I used to always distract my mind when I had anxiety but that won't always work. What worked best was meditating and actually paying attention to my anxiety to face it so I would no longer fear it. To surrender and understand that it's okay to feel it and that it will pass. I don't have to do anything or "distract" myself. Just recognize it and let it be. Do this enough and you come to almost be friends with it and it is no harm to you.
We all want to run away from uncomfortable feelings but thats what got us here in the first place. Learn to face it and overcome. Same attitude applys to anything in life. We are problem solvers so when we avoid every uncomfortable feeling then we can only trick our minds for so long.

You can challenge your anxiety when you are not feeling anxious, and use what you found out in time of anxiety. This helps! For example, I used to believe I am inferior to others and unloveable so I would feel anxious being around other people. I captured that thought and brought it home, where I don't feel anxious, and challenged why I feel this way. Once I could see in clear sight that I am worthy of love, with enough evidence to back me up, I could use that info in time of anxiety.
Two even more important tools are, mindfullness and deliberately acting and thinking calmly when in panic. First helps to capture a thought from going too deep to cause anxiety in the first place. The other helps to calm down after anxiety has begun.
This has been God's present to me and I am so grateful for His teaching. Anything is possible with Jesus.

Like if I need to say something, or appear, it will be my lower lip. If I am driving, it's my leg. But I have always tried to make myself calm and saying positive things to overcome the situation at that moment. Anyway, when she said about changing the way you see it, actually I have been practicing that by myself and it really have helped.

Dealing with the attacks has become a lot more manageable knowing that the Jesus knew how it was to be human that He "sweat blood" with the magnitude of anguish and fear he felt before His crucifixion. You can be delivered from it in this world. We are to overcome ourselves in this world with the help of the Holy Spirit. I don't know what kind of anxiety you are going through but I used to deal with social anxiety stemming from childhood abuse and low self esteem. Once I figured out my identity and worth in Christ it helped tremendously. Another thing is to NOT believe in the lies of satan. But for this you need to be pretty sure about your truth in JESUS. Then the lies of the enemy lose its power. And in times of crisis (and at all other times) we look to Christ with absolute thankfulness. We renew our mind with the word of God and the prophecies of God. We keep feeding ourselves the Scripture and it goes away. There is hope for you, too and may the Lord show you your way to healing. You can look up Cindy Rivera Guzman (I hope I didn't butcher her name) she has a series about overcoming anxiety with the help of the LORD. It has helped me tremendously.

Lemme tell you something, for some people such as me thinking about something else only triggers the: "but what about this" thought in our heads. It takes alot to remember something positive but only a little to remember something negative and same goes for forgetting. Really the easiest way is just to let it float away on it's own but even that wont work for some people so really it all depends. Personally i am constantly aware that i am overthinking and that its not real but i still cant help but think about it even when knowing its stupid. Guess i just cant catch a break huh.

I don’t get how one would go about thinking of other things while in the midst of an anxiety attack??? Too bad this video clip wasn’t longer and explained more. I personally didn’t find it that helpful…actually made me anxious and kinda down, since no clue how to do this when in the middle I’m freaking out! So makes me feel there’s something else wrong with me? 🤷‍♀️

Remember, the difficult part of anxiety is the feeling, not thoughts. Even if i change my thoughts, the feeling of anxiety will remain. This method can't reduce anxiety but can stop us from getting anxious. But after we get anxious, this is useless.
I somehow managed to reduce that feeling through deep breathing. Practice it. It will surely help you. Forget everything and everyone, breath deepy and fully until you feel relaxed. Could be 5 times 10 time or 30 times. Just until you don't have that felling anymore. It can reduce anxiety.

And when I think about it different and make myself not to be bothered about it, i get weird head sensations that makes me feel like i am standing up, like i was kneeling before with one knee then i just kind of emotionally, mindfully, everythingly😂 stand up.
    Its the best feeling
And i love to get that feeling
    Its like fear leaving me
    Its sooo great and unexplainable

I wouldn't divert my thoughts. This could lake things worse. What she is saying is actually looking at the situation from a different angle. Self acceptance is key and it means accepting you have anxiety. Embracing it and showing yourself self compassion, self soothing really works. In other times questioning the lies that anxiety brings and using the valuable answers in times of anxiety helps tremendously as well. You are lived and worthy. Just as you are now.

Yes, there are tools you can use while in the middle of an anxiety attack…… Xanax being a big one. (If you have a humane doctor) So you don’t feel like your tripping on bad acid for 45 minutes 🙄
    “Think different thoughts”
    “Smell peppermint oil”
    “Focus on your breathing”
Pffffffffft, I’ll stick with my meds.
Sometimes I wonder if the people speaking have even had a panic attack and what list of meds have they tried ?
    Hmmmm ? ❤️

My meds have helped give me the space I needed to calm me down so I can start to think and reinterpret past events, triggers in a different way. Like learning that its my lymbic system in over drive when I have a panic attack and not anything weird but there is a logical reason even if I don't know what it is right away.

Meds are temporary and using xanax long term can causes dependencies and make things worse.
I am prescribed xanax. Got so bad after a few ER visits and my doc prescribed me them but I only take it when I absolutely need it. Used to be so bad I needed it every other day but now I am to the point of rarely taking it. How? You need to change your outlook. For one distracting yourself from anxiety is probably worse long term since you are teaching yourself to run away. That anxiety is scary. Anxiety is actually VERY normal. We just now process it differently.
Next time when you get anxiety try to meditate on exactly what you are feeling and surrender to it. You know damn well it won't kill you so just let it be. Dont fight it. Dont do anything at all about it. You don't have to do anything anymore. Just be present with it and let it be. You aren't trying to make it go away or stay. You just do nothing and let it be. It will pass eventually.
Do this enough times and anxiety starts to become A LOT less scary and you learn to live with it again. Also important to keep improving yourself in any way in life to build back that confidence.

I read somewhere, this guy wrote what his therapists told him that it has something to do with adrenaline and cortisol. Meaning that it's actually hormonal. Especially with women, I am definitely going to check my thyroid soon. If hormones are f....ed up and heart rate is slow, then it's not pumping enough blood to the brain and that's why there are anxiety and panic attacks. The things that could help, magnesium, myo inositol, folic acid, regular excersise. All of that actually regulates hormones. Good luck!
