You can definitely tell this cop is a vet. With combat experience. Running towards the gunfire with dominance and precision. Then noticing the man trying to kill you is a vet as well. Ofcourse he teared up. The emotion of adrenaline come down on top of realizing how close (yet again) you’ve come to death. And then seeing a fellow soldier struggling with life outside the service. All that coming to you at once will cause any man to tear up. This cop is a genuine man with all thoughts outside of his own self.
I understand what you are saying. I will throw in, however, that being a street cop is an INCREDIBLY dangerous job. Unfortunately being shot at seems to “come with the territory” these days. When I was growing up (70’s and 80’s) it was almost unthinkable to shoot at a police officer, now days it is happening more and more. I say this in that if the emotional aspect is something this officer is struggling with (which is entirely understandable) he might consider another career….or a less dangerous path in this current career. I know a lot of “cop-haters”. I personally support the police and don’t agree with hating an individual due to his job title. I’m always trying to explain that police are human too. They have emotions like we all do. If you treat them with respect 99.9% of the time it’s what you will get back (which is a larger percentage then dealing with the general public). This also goes with how they handle certain situations. Honestly if I were this officers superior, I would be a little concerned with his reaction. I would want to ensure he understands it IS part of the job, and that while it’s okay to vent immediately after, that he doesn’t “lose it” and sway fri. SOP , God forbid it happens again.

These things always happen so fast you really don't have time to process what is going on as your body floods in an instant with adrenaline and the other fight or flight hormones. If you're ever in that situation hopefully your training kicks in and sort of put you in autopilot and get you to the other side.

More like props to the marine for not lighting their asses up they need to be more grateful towards him and god
@@DriveInto I normally don't comment but this is a dumb as fuck statement. Props to the man who started shooting at the cops first? Or is it only because he was a marine? Either way, I guess we outta give props to all the murderers and wife beaters out there for not killing and beating as much. Glad he is no longer a marine, get bent.

@@DriveInto He shot at their vehicle you dunce. How is that not shooting at them? In the military if your vehicle gets shot at, you are being shot at and can return fire. A marine should know that, this man is no longer a marine, he lost that honor when he decided to open fire on police in the manner he did.
All respect to officers. So brave putting there job before their own lives
This is sad on many levels. The marine clearly still thinks he is in combat or his brain does at least. The officer has a family at home, and just wants to get his check and feed his family. It's really just a tragic situation.
You wouldn't have said so if the marine wasn't white.. you'd call him a criminal like all the other criminals in this channel
Those officers have brass balls to move up on a guy who was just shooting at them! Nice work guys! 👏
Yeah cops react way differently when you shoot at them instead of a bunch of kids locked in a school.

Crazy that this happened in my hometown stuff like this never happens and for a backstory this guy was driving around several surrounding counties and firing into vehicles while driving on the county’s roads
I grew up about 25 miles from here. Bucyrus is a tiny city with only ~11,000 people and things like this NEVER happen there. This is literally a once in a career situation for that cop. A cop in a town that size could go their entire 30 year career and never need to fire their service weapon, let alone be shot at like this.
One of the cops said it wasn't the first time someone tried to kill him this year, sounds like that town is getting a lot more action now.

Head’s straight towards the gunfire. Where I’m from that’s called hero status. Men like this officer are hard to find these days much less working to protect us. Much praise and blessings for those men.
I was a little confused as towards why the officers ran up on the car after opening fire. Then I read the description and saw that a shooting had happened earlier in the day and this driver was now a suspect. Huge props to these officers for having the gut to take fire, return fire, and then run up to neutralize the threat before he could hurt anyone else.
How do you shoot a gun at police and then act like all is ok and you are innocent.....prime example of a mental person that shouldn't be allowed to have a gun.
I have see some real bravery from cops on this channel, but this is definitely at the top of the list.
This cop literally ran to a car while the guy was shooting at him. Omg, unbelievable. 💙💙
I've been shot at. It makes you scared, and the freaking adrenaline, it's like opening a horrible flood gate. I couldn't sleep for probably 2 days I was so hyped up.
Not the video game you have been playing....
You mean, the 35 other reactions you should have done, instead of the one you did? :-)
These two officers exhibited to finest skills and emotional fitness I've ever witnessed. Props to Ohio Officers, This is what the finest look like in action.
This guy is unbelievably lucky he didn't get blasted.
You "shot at his tire"....The amount of minimizing and disconnection with reality in this guy is sickening. Hope the officer is doing ok. You can tell he was crushed by thinking about his 2-year old at home. Can't imagine how he felt at that moment.
the police do amazing work and this is just another reason. the bravery you need just to run towards someone who’s actively shooting at you is an amazing trait only few possess. and you can tell the cop didn’t realize the full extent of the situation until right after when he starts to tear up. i appreciate their effort every day.
Well, I appreciate this cops effort because most cars were shot to him and kill this guy. I am dead serious not all cops will you do with this cop dead most cars what is that? They’re just murder the guy and not realize it but some people you know there’s a problem like this one him being a Marine, or former Marine, whatever he struggling with something he might’ve his mind maybe PTSD in his mind might’ve went back to when he was in fighting the field, so that might’ve happened to him, you know over there nothing is a whole lot of excuse but yes, something might’ve happened to him sometimes people things are happening to them or they have some kind of mental problem and they need help but no instead of trying to help them they wanted to Taran Killam not all cops will protect you. You have been paying attention, right or are you on those people are blind thinking or making excuses for cops because now we need more cops like this, so no, I don’t respect all cops because there are cops out there and I don’t care, but this is a caring cop and yes, he was angry when he was shooting at him, but he didn’t kill him. I am happy that he sit there and saw the situation. I realize there’s something wrong in that he was angry at first, but I think I am realizing I got to the guy he realize that it was wrong specially thought he was a Marine, so I praise us coffee cups like this like this
Hopefully he lives to see his pension.

I couldn't agree with u more The public in general run from someone or someone's firing a weapon police officers run to them and engage them Respect the Blue !!!
I felt bad for that officer when he asked if he was a Marine
Why?
He definitely didn't get the answer he wanted, that's for sure. I'm kind of sad he was surprised. I knew a guy who was a point man in Iraqi Freedom. He had a lot of emotional issues going in and had a ton more going out.
What? Why?
Because they both went through the same training. They were taught the same things. It’s devastating to see a brother pull a gun on you
Just goes to show you even the Marines have a few shit-birds. Don't judge the many by a few.
Man, once you got him in cuffs and fight or flight wears off and you get that adrenaline dump. So hard to keep your cool in that situation and they performed outstandingly.
If someone cannot keep their cool in situations like this, they should not be law enforcement officers. That's why we have such bad police, because we're letting bad people become cops.

Different training. And, why would you leave your cover to advance toward a subject who has cover, stronger firepower, and can see you coming ? You my friend have no type of training or experience. And if you are a vet, you are clearly a pog.
Lol. So just because he left cover and assaulted toward means he’s a veteran with combat experience?
Haha nope charging the car is not veteran training. It’s actually poor training that most police are given these days. Sad

Yea, sure they will.
I'll never understand how someone can shoot at law enforcement and not be charged with attempted 1st degree murder.
It's not hard to get it once the system fucks you over. The reason it keeps happening is because Americas choose to be willfully ignorant sheep, and let organize white collar crime loot the entire nation over and over again.
Felony assault / aggravated assault is the same as attempted murder. Not every state has an attempted murder charge but something equivalent.
It comes down to trying to prove intent in court. It’s easier to prove you intended to seriously hurt someone rather than trying to prove you meant to murder them.
The suspect clearly didn't intend to kill the cops, he shot the tires as he said and only with one hit, if he wanted to kill them he would have aimed at them (upwards and not at tires height) and would have used more bullets on them in order to try and hit them.
