Los Angeles, California - On August 12, 2023, at around 8:17 p.m., Olympic Area uniformed patrol officers responded to a radio call of a “Man with a Gun” inside the convenience store, located at the 3400 block of West 6th Street. Upon arrival the suspect, later identified as 35-year-old, Taylor Dean Sanders, had left the location. At around 9:19 p.m., officers who were canvassing the area, observed Sanders on the south sidewalk of Wilshire Boulevard west of Kenmore Avenue, carrying what appeared to be a black assault rifle. As officers issued verbal commands to Sanders, he raised the rifle in the direction of the officers resulting in an Officer-Involved Shooting (OIS). Officers broadcast a “Help Call,” as Sanders fled the location on foot.
Responding uniform officers from Rampart and Olympic Division observed Sanders walking south on Vermont Avenue from Wilshire Boulevard. Officers began to follow Sanders on foot from behind the cover of their trailing police vehicles. As Sanders reached mid-block between Vermont Avenue and 7th Street, officers deployed both Bean Bag Shotguns and 40mm Less-Lethal Launchers (LLL) towards Sanders. Sanders again raised his rifle in the direction of the officers, which resulted in a second OIS. Sanders continued to flee south on Vermont Avenue to a multi-unit shopping center and parking lot located at the northeast corner of 7th Street and Vermont Avenue. Officers again deployed 40mm LLL towards Sanders and as Sanders again pointed his rifle in the direction of officers resulting in a third OIS.
Sanders barricaded himself in an open-air stairwell of the parking lot and refused to submit to commands. Metropolitan Division Special Weapon and Tactics (SWAT) personnel responded to the location and after a lengthy standoff, Sanders surrendered without incident. Sanders was transported to California Hospital Medical Center for treatment of gunshot wounds. Sanders was admitted and listed in stable condition. Sanders was booked for Brandishing an Imitation Firearm at officers. Two replica firearms were located, a black air soft gun in the appearance of a rifle and a black and orange butane lighter in the appearance of a small pistol were recovered from the scene and booked as evidence. No officers or other citizens were injured during this incident. Force Investigation Division (FID) investigators responded to the scene and are investigating this incident.

It took 2 minutes for the operator to understand a man who clearly said the cross street right away.... sad
"Defund the police!" They say. Well, this is what you get, untrained customer call center employees taking up the role of dispatch.

I cant be the only one who gets completely irritated with some of the people who take the 911 calls
This video took an unexpected science fiction turn outta nowhere.
After 75 questions from the 911 operator… the guy says “ never mind, he shot me”
How did this turn into a parade of officers for so damn long?! This is NOT the LAPD I used to know!!!!
we’ll yea This ain’t 77th or southeast division my guy
This is Cali I think
they love to stand around on clock in that town.. the robot guy has a robot worth five figures and he isnt trained at all the basics.. simply amateur hour
Welcome to modern day policing. They're all terrified of losing their jobs or worse. This is the response you get. Even basic resisting arrests, they are afraid to really take it to the suspect and end the fight because of what might happen to them and their families, so they wait for backup so they can just wrestle with the guy, when it calls for much more. I don't know who the F would want the job today.
LAPD is a joke.
These people used to not be in public
Those pedestrians just ignoring the police shooting guns at this guy is definitely something else
the fact that they did not oof him makes me happy, yes they had any legal reason to oof him but they did not.
The guy nonchalantly walking thru the crosswalk about took me out 💀 😂
He didnt even change pace when the cops started shooting
The officer that fired first was super amped! I couldn't imagine having to deal with that kind of anxiety. Thank you for keeping our streets safe!
Safe from replicas and air softs. 😂
@@jorgefloyd6989 Safe from criminals but whatever, troll.
@@jorgefloyd6989 Strange how there won't be any riots over this shooting....hmmmm

Damn!! That’s a trip the cops got one of those robot dog things. Pretty cool
do we have a uncensored version with more specific details for example the blurred audio from the police calls?
Having at least one F word in every sentence was definitely my experience of LA.
I'll be honest, here. It's been really difficult to figure out what's actually going on.
White male white shirt black pants LOL😅
Guy with fake gun gets backed into a corner. Cops shoot bean bags then one officer fires maybe one actual shot hitting the perp.
@@socialmediaego Yup and all the while the guy never fired a shot, such a blow to 2nd amendment.
@socialmediaego Thanks for that! Sounds like dude might've had a death wish 😔
@@RichardHeadGaming lol this has nothing to do with the second amendment. You can go to any pro gun free state, you don't point any gun at someone real or not and not expect to get shot.
Why is no one talking about how damn cool the robo dog is?
"drop it bro, drop it bro, hey bro please" "drop the f.....g gun" yeah the bro calling and swearing makes it look way way more professional. Airsoft Guy is giving much clearer commands than the police. they should enlist him.
Unbelievable! I've never seen anything like that before! Imagine that. A surveillance camera that actually shows clear details. 12:20 Not just a gob of blur! 😮
Ring cameras are better than professional surveillance cameras, it seems
@@GNXperimental
Most surveillance cameras have the resolution of a 1927 mechanical television. I'm glad the cameras are finally catching up to the 21st Century.
Jesus that 911 call hurt my mind
Well the guy spoke terrible English. Imagine trying to decipher it without the subtitles.
It was hard to understand him even with subtitles
@@mplslawnguy3389did he die?
😂😂😂😂😂
@@thisuserlovesunsets Who? Abraham Lincoln?
Those pedestrians don't even flinch lol 😂
Un freaking believable, just let him walk through the streets with a rifle and hope he doesn't kill anyone !! " Shoot him with freaking bean bag " wtf lmao 😂
They literally said “ put the rifle down before you get hit with a bean bag”! A BEANBAG? AYFKM!
Why didn’t they just run him over with the car and call it a day. They probably wanted over time lol
Great to see when bodycam channels don't censor curse words and have actual subtitles
The language of the female officer I don't believe was textbook. It disrespects all officers.
@@mtsfloridaEvery officer swears, swearing is not a reasonable moral condemnation of their entire character.
@@mtsfloridayet you commented on the other video where a male cop, as you put it, cursed more than you ever did in your whole career, then you praised him? Wasn't he going against the textbook and disrespecting the cops, too, then?
One or two swears with a female cop instead of the male cop in the other video? Please reflect. Women are allowed to swear, too; if you decide to put that on her, you should do the same for him, shouldn't you? Don't judge a woman more than a man for the same behavior, especially when he's doing a lot more of it.

Does the survival of humanity need any specific person?
"Hi,my name is Security" this made me dying 😂
Love the random dude caught in the middle of everything at 9:20. He still minds his business and acts like nothing is going on. They shoot and he starts fast walking 😂
Just goes to show how conditioned Americans have become to horrible conditions.
One episode of this in my country, and it would cycle the news for 6 months, have 2 books and a documentary aftermath.

It takes a platoon of LAPD, its corresponding SWAT Team and a robot dog to subdue that guy; unreal.
I'm not saying I would have done it, but literally a dude in flip flops could have just walked over and tackled him.
@@TheBanjoShowOfficialHonestly believe it gives them an excuse to use all their toys
"Reconalpha7" would've gone in there like John wick right👍 I'm sure when you pay call of duty you just run in and shoot everyone
