- Often regarded as the capital of the Cotswolds, Cirencester was once the second largest town in Britain during Roman times. It's name back then was Corinium Dobunnorum and today makes for essential visiting to any Cotswold traveller.
The history of the Gloucestershire town spans several centuries, reflected by the dozens of interesting buildings nestled in the centre.

Have you ever visited Cirencester, the 'Capital of the Cotswolds'?
Yes
No, but I'll do it as sun as possible.
No, but I’d love to though it’s a long trip to get there 😀
Yes, and myself and 2 friends ended up briefly locked in the tower with the bells ringing for a wedding !!

A great service you're doing to this area, who knows what it will look like in the future
I had the pleasure of working in the Fleece for a summer in the early 90's which afforded me the opportunity to explore the town and the surrounding area.
Many happy memories.
My husband and I first visited from the U.S. in 2006 and loved the town. We were lucky enough to visit again earlier this year, about a week before the lockdowns began, with a group of our students. The Corinium Museum was fantastic for our U.S. students studying history in the U.K.
These videos are so good that I wish they were longer and perhaps talked in more detail about the buildings and surrounding villages.
I agree. I wish all of these videos were longer, although I know that the additional time and logistics associated with production, editing, etc., would be significant.
Such a nice Capital, it looks like a very cultural City with fascinating history.
Hi Sylvia. Good to hear from you again. Yes it's a lovely city. Thanks for watching so regularly. All the best Robin

Thanks for another nice video. I am happy every time there is a new video. I always watch them when I finish my work in the home office. I can relax wonderfully while I listen to your stories and watch the beautiful places you present us with you.
I adore Cirencester, visited a few times when I’ve stayed in Chedworth. I hope to return
Please, Robin make a much more in depth exposé of this wonderful town. I live nearby and know how much there is to see.
You have such an awesome voice!! It's just lovely to listen to!!
I found this very informative, it is a town I have grown to love, now living five miles away.
another good visit, look forward to the next one. Thank you , Bob
Quite marvelous
As I have commented in another episode, I do like that dissolve from the Church picture in the book to the foggy video of the real Church. To get the angle and scale done, must have been a bit of fun and delight when it turned out like that. Hope others have noticed it.
Thank you, as always. A very well produced additional episode in the continuing exploration of the Cotswold's - marvelous in every way :)
What a fabulous place! We'll visit once the lock-down is lifted.
Fantastic presentation 👍👍
