  • Join flower farmer and florist Georgie Newbery of Common Farm Flowers between Bruton and Wincanton in Somerset south west England (zone 8) as she dodges downpours to cut flowers for a wedding. Find out how she manages when the weather threatens to rot all the flowers in place. It's not all sun and dancing flower farming you know, but when the commitment has been made to supply wedding flowers and the money's already in the bank Georgie can't let her customers down.
    The venue where this wedding will be held is Pennard House. www.pennardhouse.com/somerset...

    I love the respect that you show to all of nature, including the rain.
    I have stopped watching the local weather because the meteorologist's opinion seems to be that there are two types of weather, good and bad. I have come to believe that is a crappy way to think of it. It is what it is.

      sometimes I show how they pack up in the car or van - have a scroll through the wedding flowers vids and quite often you'll see the process - in this case they were collected from me so no complicated pack up - yes I lend vases and buckets and 99 times out of 100 get everything back x

    The weather is certainly being manipulated here in New Zealand just as much as you are experiencing! It's very sad that anyone would to do such a thing. Mind blowing really!

      I think the weather in New Zealand at the moment is from the Tongan underwater volcano that put vast amounts of water into the stratosphere.
      It's also causing the depletion of the ozone layer above us which is going to affect our weather later on.

    I like the filming exactly as you do it, but I do wish we could see the flowers in situ of the wedding itself. It would also be interesting to see how the flowerscomplemented the bride's fashion and venue decor. Always inspiring.

      It would be fun to see, but I think Georgie is much to classy to intrude ( for footage ) on someone's special day .

    • @theflowerfarmer
      @theflowerfarmer  11 месяцев назад

      @gypsyhollerfarmgardens4603 is right - I'll film a venue if I don't think it intrudes, but most of the time it's a private event and I think it important it stays that way. Imagine the couple's face if I asked if I could come and film their special day for my RUclips channel! xxx

      It was never in my mind that the wedding itself be filmed, only expressed a wish to see how it all worked together. People do rush to some rather unkind suggestions.
