Replacing a Mercruiser 888 (ALPHA) with a Sterndrive Engineering INC (SEI) SE106 outdrive

It was time to service the 888 outdrive on our antique Cruisers Yachts runabout. The unit required a significant amount of work, so we removed it and installed a new SE106 outdrive. The rationale for this decision was based on time and cost. Service for the outdrive was anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks out.
