Where did you find a pre fab line

This brings back memories! I bought a compac 16 brand new in 1994 in Denver. Sailed it for 10 years. Being a self employed machinist I would take off for Homestead Fl. in October, sail down the Keys to Key West , take a bus back up to get the Toyota 4cyl pickup and trailer and hang for a while sailing and just loved it. Sailed to the marquesa keys one time, about 40 miles from key west if I remember. Did this 7 times! Some times alone, others with a gal and dog! 😮 Took the dog once to Catalina in Ca. for 2 weeks. Circumnavigating the entire island. Lake Powell 2 weeks. Lake Granby 2 weeks. Lake Pueblo so much I could say I have lived there for a year! Best years of my life. I then owned a compac 23d for 7 years based on west coast of Fl. Even better stories there. Great boats. Cheers !

Loved your Florida video (this one too). I’m a West coaster looking into getting a Com Pac 16 and have a question about the different configurations. I know some of the later models have a centerboard to help in pointing. Is that an option that varies from boat to boat or was it standard on later models. Does your boat have the centerboard and if so, how much does it compromise the cabin floor? Thanks for your posts.

What is the GM part number for this 99 thru 2006 kit? I assume yours is an extend cab?

I love it when the wind is lively to get the boat up to speed but not enough to reef. This looks like a good day to me.

So are theblack feathered ones always roos? I have 6 and only 1 has the black feathers. I hope it's not a roo....I don't have enough hens to have another roo in my flock.

The most fun I've ever had on a boat was in a Venture 17. I was dating my girlfriend at the time. It was 1975. Eventually, we sailed from Long Beach, California, to Catalina Island (a distance of about 25 miles) Where we got married on a hill overlooking Avalon Bay. Today, we live on a 40-foot sailboat and have for the last 20 years. Never a day goes by, though, that I don't think about that boat and the fun we had learning how to sail (among other things). 😊

Ahoi! I’m in Madison and am considering a com-pac 16 for lakes both local and great. Love the video and getting to see how the boat reacts with a bit too much sail up, seems like the both of you are pretty well acquainted with how it handles. Any chance I could barter for a day sail with you guys before I join the club?

Hello, I just bought a Com-Pac 16 from the madison area and was woundering if you had any tips on improving upwind perfromace-I recently took it out and noticed a lot of side slippage when pointing it higher into the wind-Thanks!

My favorelle is "Teenie the meanie" as she was the top hen of the other 3 I had(wyandotte, andalusian, comet) and chest kicked them or pecked them in the face LOL She screams in distain when I pick her up but I laugh and love it. So much so I got another female and two males- and just hatched her baby today(with a turken dad) as she is getting older. ❤😂🎉

Was last in the US, Florida, in March 2020, just as covid was taking hold. Here in Britain we don`t have the space for these adventures, as soon as good weather comes, everywhere is crowded on all beaches and access to water, for my small boat. Was a great trip there, a close second to California the year before.

We took our cp16 to Kew west a couple years ago and It was a blast. Don't know if ill tow that far again but Pensacola is only 6 hrs away.

I thoroughly enjoy your videos. They are peaceful, easy, warm and loving as well as informational. At first, I was only interested in transforming our closet under our stair into a sauna, but now you've given me other ideas.

May not be the instructo-video I wanted for closet sauna but nice video that gave me ideas for garage organization.

Sanding some gel coat to make a colour match dust to work into the top bit of PC-11 epoxy has worked to nearly hide the repair on a green canoe and carbon dust worked for a black snowmobile hood. Your repair looks good as is plus you have a conversation piece too.

I think we call these trips "memorable adventures"... My daughter was once 13... Now she is 42, and we still laugh about one trip - and my falling A over K and straight into the tide... Creating memories - we all need to do more of this ...

How long did it take ?

I wondered what that job would entail. I bought a used moored 1970 J in 1984, and the owner had home fiberglassed the syern as it had gotten soft. It was a sloppy job but good enough for me for two years on a large bay...as I didn't own a motor. I wouldn't have trusted it with anything more than a troller. I trailered it and always kept it dry. I trailer parked it at a brokerage after I bought a SJ21 for two years and it got softer...since nobody bought it (hey free dry storage) I thought about rebuilding the transom but I was going to sell it for $900...so I bought a GetRot kit from the broker's chandlery for $30....drilled holes and filled the whole thing with get rot (basically thin fiberglass resin)...then coated it with matte and repainted. I felt better selling it that way...which I did about 2 months later to a lady that lived on the bayfront and wanted a pier runner. A couple years later I passed her on the bay. She was still very happy with it. Good looking job. Excellent finished product. Boat looks better without that aqua two tone they had till the mod 70s. Did the seat gap get filled with a stack of coosa board cutouts?

Just my luck...the #8 cylinder had the exhaust leak. Bought the 917-142 and damnit if the rear bolt hole that this was supposed to attach to was broken off! Fortunately, the rear bolt that was missing from the exhaust manifold was just missing and not broken off.

Really nice video and adventure. I also go on sailing trips with my daughter here in Ontario with our trailerable 22ft Edel, and currently planning to go to Florida next year

All chickens want cover. All chickens run over an open space because they don't feel safe, they need cover from trees or bushes. Also all chickens love dust baths. What about their eggs? Did you even show us their eggs or talk about size, colors and production or I did I miss from your video?

This is one of my goals. I've got a Catalina 22 in the barn prepped for paint. Started camping on my local lake and plan to move out from there to other reservoirs and eventually trailer it down to Florida. I love the Pensacola area.

That is the perfect use for a trailerable sailboat. For many years we trailered a 22' boat to different sailing venues in the Country. The New England Sound, the Outer Banks, The Florida Keys, The Chesapeake Bay, Washington DC 4th of July among the most memorable.

I just now used the Dorman front driver side clamp on my 2001 Tahoe, 5,3 Vortec. I am far from being a mechanic. It took me maybe 15 minutes max. Exhaust ticking gone! It fit perfectly with no trimming of heat shield required. I just disconnected the coil wire (left the spark plug wire connected) and temp sensor. I used anti-seize on bolts and screwed the clamp on and tightened down on the manifold bolt. Reattached everything and it worked like a charm! I highly recommend the Dorman clamp. Don't fool with cheaper model.

Thank you for a very insightful and informative video. We just moved back to the countryside, and I am about to purchase a flock for the first time in about ten years. I have been considering getting the Salmon Faverolles, and your video was really helpful. I really like the Salmon Faverolles because I want chickens that are good with my grandchildren and that like human interaction, and I really like the way they look. Seeing the way they ran across the yard in your video was the cutest thing, and made me want to get them even more. But now I realize that I really need to consider how I can prevent them being picked on by the other chickens. Buying the entire flock at the same time, and spending a lot of time genteling them, and socializing the chicks together, in my presence, from the time they are one day old chicks may eliminate the problem. But animals are animals, and I grew up on a farm so I know I will still need to be vigilant in monitoring their behavior, and even then, a timid chicken may still get picked on. I really appreciate you sharing the real attributes of this breed, both good and bad, so viewers can make a really informed decision about whether the Faverolles are a good breed for them. And in my case it has raised an issue that I did not realize about the breed, that I can now prepare for. Thank you.
