Direct to Film Printers (DTF Printers) are t-shirt TRANSFER printers
DTF Printers use liquid inks instead of toners or screen print inks (all 3 are vastly different). They appeal to larger custom t-shirt and on-demand personalization businesses.
Commercial DTF Printers are Key.
All of the comparison numbers and convenience of mass-producing dtf transfers are in the high-volume machines.
Single sheet, aftermarket manufactured style dtf systems are far less efficient and have more steps.
There are a few reasons for that:
An Epson color printer converted to be a direct to film machine still prints 1 sheet at a time.
That’s inherently slower than printing on a 24” roll. A commercial printer is inherently faster.
And obviously, buying dtf film one sheet at a time is much more expensive per square inch.
That Epson based dtf printer requires an extra step.

I'm gonna transfer my Epson ink to my old empty sub ink bottles and just empty sub ink into old Epson bottles! Im done w syringes, a hassle on my WF 7310! Just got a ET 3850 today! Hope it makes life easier.

Thanks for the comment. But sublimation is not the way to go. Especially with DTF as such an easier option.

Can I just refill the bottles the same way and then fill up my sublimation printer because I’m afraid I might put the needle in to far would that work I have an Epson 2800 that I made into a sublimation printer

You can just leave it the way it is. It doesn't dry out or anything
Can I use another brand of sub ink ? Can I just put it in there once done ?
I used the bottles that came with the printer(after washing them & filling them with sublimation ink) I had some ink left over. Do I have to do anything special or can I just refill with the bottles again as I did the first time? And do I have to do anything with the printer settings after filling them again?
That's a really good idea. No, as far as I know you should be good to go.
How do you know when it's full? Do you just look at the front ink level windows?

I purchased a new Epson and I would like to transfer the ink from the old printer into the new one. Tried searching your videos but couldn’t find one. How would I do this? Thank you so much.
Thank you for this video, it was very helpful, although not nearly as easy for me as it was for you. My question I looked at the front of my tank, and the ink wasn't feeling up in the front like it did with yours, does that mean I have to put more? for example, I used 2 syringes for black, and it still looks as if there is nothing there, when I did it for the blue, the ink started leaking through the outside opening on the right side where the cartridges are.

l saved the original top so l can refill my printer, however it tells me that l needs to purchase new ink when the level on the computer showing that it fills. I don't want to over full it and then have that as a problem can you suggest how l can tell if the tank is full. Thank you Oh by the way the video that you made for cleaning your print head work very well for me l thanks and l appreciate want you doing.
I just set up an Epson 2400 filled it with sublimation ink and all the lights are flashing. Power both wifi paper and ink. Do you know why that might be happening?

We kinda had this issue because of the type of paper we used. What kind of paper do you have in there? Meaning are you using sublimation paper or just normal paper?
Hello, have you switched inks before? I'm already using sublimation ink on my ET2720 but want to try a different sublimation ink. Would I have to go through the conversion process? Any info would be highly appreciated

I just found your video and I feel like an idiot. But I cannot see the ink levels on my Epson Et 2720 through the ink level windows. I have read the manual and nowhere does it say how to refill at least that I understand. By watching this I see I have to use the needles which I had no idea to do
, I did guess that maybe that was what to do and did that for the black but was afraid I was going to damage something. Is there a way to tell how much ink is used or still in the tanks other than the plastic windows that don't even show any color, never have?
lol first off you're not an idiot lol 2nd as you can see in the video I just had to wing it. It sucks cause the ink kinda stains the fill window so you really don't know how much you're adding but! if you have been using it for a long time and it seems "empty" I would suggest filling up the needle like half way and adding it slowly. The new ink will kind of show and you will be able to tell. Its better to add a little and have to add some more later then trying to fill it up and making a huge mess. I hope this bit of advice helps.

I'm not sure. We no longer use sublimation because we have a Direct to film heat transfer process that we use that allows us to do high definition full color images on anything
I can not tell if the tank is empty or half full by looking at the windows on my printer. How do you tell? I shing a light on it to tell better, but they all look full. Is it normal for the tank to only take Half a syringe of ink if it is showing on my printer settings empty?
