Hey epic Phil we have not done an updates vs video yet. We have covered ForeVR bowls latest release, Brooklyn Bowl in a video on our channel. But I am seriously considering another vs video if people really want it. Thanks!
They must have made improvements to ForeVR bowl since you made this video as I've just started playing and I'm scoring around 200 and I've not had a single bowl go in the gutter. Personally I'm glad they have levels locked it give you targets to achieve to open new levels and bowls. It's good in single player but even better when you have a party you get so caught up in the atmosphere of the game. I'm loving it.
Thanks for a great review. I have 1 suggestion for your review. Please turn down that background music. It was a big distraction. Maybe pick a few different background songs instead of 8 mins of a repeating loop. How about having sound effects of the game you are reviewing in there. Would be nice to hear how the sound design is in the game. People over look the impact of how the sound can make or break the game.
Thanks very much for the feedback! I agree and I think hearing sounds from the game could be helpful to add to a review of the game. It's always hard to tell for background music, but it's good to know -20 is too loud still. Thanks I will make sure it's turned down more and we can try and add some in game sounds in the future! I'm an avid bowler irl here's my take. If you want a more irl experience go for Premium Bowling. If you want a more fun bowling experience you can only do in VR, go for Forevr. Personally, I have a Bowlero bowling ally right down the street so I can bowl irl whenever I want. So I prefer Forevr Bowl because I can't bowl on the moon with a literal supermassive black hole irl. I also like the unlocking aspect vs paid dlc. It actually makes me want to play more and gives me more respect for the stuff I have. Also the youtube player for music is pretty cool.
Good feedback honestly! I've chatted with ForeVR Bowl devs and given then some feedback on how to bridge that gap on experience that you explained. Great feedback!
I enjoy Forevr Bowl much more. It removes the hand holding of Premium Bowling and teaches you the proper form for you not to gutter. For beginners though it is really not that friendly, just like in real bowling. You will gutter a lot until you spend much more time in it to develop the proper form. Wish they dont mess it up with the patches and just give more balls for the beginners to have an auto aim like the Red Beginner ball for them to enjoy and not gutter too much and have more strikes. But they should probably remove those in ranked so they could develop the proper form and skill in ranked mode. It would be really bad if they cater to beginners and remove the challenge of the game just like in real bowling.
I have to agree. They just gave almost no explanation right away. The tutorial told us what to do but when we started playing together there was no real detailed explanation. I think most users pick up a game, try and play for a bit and figure it's broken. I suggested a VERY detailed tutorial which really broke down exactly how your hand will look to get the best results. The devs did reach out to me and confirm a happy medium is in the works and we will test it to confirm there's a balance there. I am all for challenge provided they explain where the challenge is and how to achieve the end goal. We are going to be doing an update video because the devs were super nice and reached out to us and we want to support a game with devs that truly care. I think it may help to bring back players that refunded it to give it a second change. Thanks for the feedback though, for the most part I agree with you!
Absolutely spot on. I wanted so much to like ForeVR Bowl but I had to refund it as no matter how straight I bowled or with spin, it always ended up mostly in the right gutter. The physics are poor and my daughter also had the same problem with the right gutter as also seen clearly in this video. I can bowl in real life and have my own ball so I am not a beginner. I hope they sort these physics out as on the surface, its the better game but its let down massively by not being at all accurate.

Agree forevr bowl is unrealistic and half the time end up in the gutter and have played bowling before. Premium bowling is more realistic. Put in for a refund for forevr bowling

Forever will fix the physics part, I'm very sure of it, too many ppl are having these same issues. I would like to see the aquarium Bowling setting, I've heard it's beautiful..
I’ve owned ForeVR for the last few weeks and I feel the same. 9 out of 10 times it bounces off an invisible force field if I hook it slightly left, then ends up veering right. I don’t know if this is a bug or it’s meant to ‘help’. I’d sooner it went in the gutter if it’s down to me being crap and I’ll learn from my mistakes. It’s a shame as my mate and I love the vibe of it but the ball just doesn’t seem to go the way I throw it. I got Premium a few days ago and it doesn’t happen with that.. 🤷🏼♂️
I will pass along your issues to ForeVR and let them know the issues. I really appreciate the feedback. I did SEVERAL videos on bowling because I really want players to have a great bowling game.
@@VenturePopTV thanks! I did message them but their reply suggested I may have been using a gutter avoider ball, I’ve tried several balls and it happens with all of them. Also they said to make sure my I’m releasing the ball in view of the headset, tried that too. Really hope they can sort it out!

I own both games and I keep going back to premium bowling..I like them both but I have noticed that forever bowling eats your battery up faster and can get laggy.
That's interesting to note. I wonder if there's a reason for that in maybe how it was built or how much graphics it runs. It's clearly a better looking game but people may not like the graphics. It's not terribly laggy but I get what you mean. Hey as long as we have 2 great games to choose from! Thanks the feedback

Yeah they do. The devs reach out to the community when they can and even reviewers to get additional feedback. Forever Bowl is in a good spot imho and we just have not checked in with PB in awhile. It's hard to keep up with so many VR games. We appreciate the support!
You could always jump into both discords and see which community is more active. I think a lot of people are split on it. ForeVR Bowl has updated their physics quite a bit and they continue to update the game but im told Premium Bowling still has a following. discord.gg/forevrbowl for ForeVR Bowl discord.gg/YjqSjhvnkE for Premium Bowling I think both games are kinda fun, I feel the physics are pretty close to being equal to be honest, I do agree Premium Bowling LOOKS more realistic, and it has PCVR support. So if you really only want to play on your PC with VR, you would need to go with Premium Bowling.
I think in the end, that's what Kelly and I prefer, they keep the support up, always add new content and the options for physics is great. We can even play with her parents easily as well.
Not a fan of forever bowl..it was annoying to say the least...I tried to like it for about a week, then gave up...but...I LOVE PREMIUM BOWLING.....in my opinion there is NO comparison especially now that we can customize our avatars. Forever bowling game will stay unused FOREVER in my Oculus Quest 2...I just don't like it.
I think that's fair and there are other bowling games which is good. Competition is always good. Out of curiosity, is there any way you WOULD play ForeVR bowl again? Is it the overall feel and atmosphere?
@@VenturePopTV I doubt I would ever play again..its too cartooney....and not user friendly. the balls no matter what you do just go wonky. I have no reason to go back..there was a glitch one night and no matter what I did..I got a 300 game...constant strikes..I threw my ball in the gutter and got strikes....I have every award possible and got tired after three 300 games and left. If there is a way for you to view my games...you will see. So now I have nothing and no reason to struggle with the horrible gameplay to ever go back.
Yeah it's a subjective thing. Thanks for the feedback. I'll turn it down a tad lower. Usually I run myself at -5 db and background music usually -28. It's not as egregious as movies where whispers are quiet but explosions rock your house but loud background music does annoy me too. Lol
I think with all the updates since these patches I can admit that ForeVR bowl is the better game. They even allow you to switch between the physics now and are working to improve it. Way better support with ForeVR Bowl.

That's fair, ForeVR bowl does have some new alleys to check out so you can see if they are more to your liking in our other videos. If you just mean the game in general, yeah it's definitely more geared towards a less realistic look. Thankfully there's two great bowling games on the market to choose from!

I did not have that problem with Forevr. The Inaccuracies. I bowl a consistant 250-275 in Forevr and in Premium
It takes a little getting used to. The latest Brooklyn bowl patch that we covered has done a great job of cleaning it up!
Forevr bowling has a music player built in which was nice 👌🏼

I have both games Pium feels more like real Bowlin physics close to real bowling. FOREVER is so all over the place
