I remember reading online that many people believe that the AOE Evasion Optimus was originally going to be the design Optimus would have in Bumblebee before his final design was made, explaining why this guy and all the BBM Optimus toys besides the Studio Series are based off the Evasion design.
although the studio series toy does have the aoe alt mode.
Mainly because it was originally meant to be a direct prequel and not a reboot.

@@Spike-Primewell, they changed up a lot of details to distance itself from the bayverse. Bumblebee was already supposed to be on earth with his jeep mode from ww2, and the entire Cybertron scene was basically last minute
With these shots of the figures. He could make even a terrible figure look amazing (not saying this is a bad figure, just saying)
The original evasion mode prime was pretty bad. His shins looked , broken, unnatural, and would fold back. He had a chicken neck, his elbows were preposed, and kibble was blocking the bottom of his hand that wouldn't allow him to hold long handled weapons
@@bigboi4488 and yet he would still make him look amazing (I had an evasion mode Prime, actually one that looked a lot like that one, and it wasn't too bad, but then again I had it when I was a kid, and as a kid you don't really care about that kinda stuff, it's just a lot of "ooo cool good guy toy fight other cool bad guy toy *slams toys together*")

Weijiang M-01 really made me appreciate just how good this and the original were, there really aren’t a lot of major changes besides fingers and paint (and size). Nice to see the progression from evasion mode to one of my favourite figures
For those who are confused by the paint job, this is Evasion Mode Optimus, with G1 Optimus's color scheme
That intro makes me think Prime is about to drop an insane diss track.

I actually prefer the blue lower legs because the overall more G1ish deco works better for me than trying to force the usual Bayverse colors onto this design or it being rusty
G1-ifying movieverse designs doesn't work for me at all. It just makes them so bland looking and highlights all the unpainted or similarly painted details.

I don't think those are teeth but the subtle soundwaves you see when he speaks. Mainly noticeable in his first appearance in 07'
I think they're also very visible in his knight form. I can't remember if it was in aoe or tlk that I noticed it though (something tells me it's tlk when he's getting rekt by the other knights for siding with quintessa)
That Roll Out Command Optimus Prime is gonna be a fun watch whenever it gets a review
He looks really nice much better than the original toy and I love his gun
I had this figure. It wasn't fun. Overly complex yet bland to look at, and he was very loose in some areas.

I've had this figure since it released and I can positively say it's the best Optimus I own, and the best Movie Optimus design ever.
The "teeth" he has isn't really teeth actually, they were trying to do the internal wave line thingies the cybertronians have in their mouths when they speak. its kinda clear to see in an up close shot of them speaking, its a neat detail but looks odd on the toy.
Yeah I remember the waves when they had a close up of Optimus in the 07 movie

Given how mediocre the AOE line was this was still one I picked up because it was the first time Prime was getting a G1 aesthetic in the movie line. Despite being bland in the paint color department it was still surprisingly a well done articulate enough toy. The additional paint on the upsized version go a long way in both modes, but really too bad about those lose hips. Really like the original, and always liked the missile firing shot gun looking like it literally carried over from the one he blew away Sentinel Prime, and Megatron in DOTM.
Leader class AoE Evasion Mode Optimus Prime needs to be repainted and be re-released in the Studio Series toyline under the name AoE Leader Class Scrapyard Optimus Prime. That would be really cool!
Damn, I've seen this on Ali Express, I just assumed it was re deco of the Evasion Prime, had no idea that it was a different figure
I sold this figure for the reasons you mentioned. He was disturbingly loose in some areas, and the paint job in robot mode was so boring. I think they tried to please everyone and pleased no one. Trying so hard to make a movie prime but make it G1-looking. It just highlighted all the reasons why breaking up the color scheme helps a lot in live action.
I find this funny that Takara went full "K.O 4P" and upscaled-improved the AoE Evasion Optimus.
I have the Nemesis version and I customised a YOTH Platinum Optimus (MP-10 repaint) trailer for it. It work and looks awesome!
You probably got plenty of comments about this but, you are putting the gun on the back upside down. Also, Bayverse Prime had teeth, they were a set of gears in his mouth. You can see them in the scene where the Autobots meet Sam and Michaela.
So when are you going to review Big Firebird Nicee and her clones and finally have the this video was made for adult collectors finally live up to its reputation?
the grey looks really cheap though. the legs and the area around the head. would be better if it had that gunmetal colour/dark grey from ss44 or ss05 i think it was
I think the mold is more known as the weijang version than bumblebee leader
Because i honestly thought they took down weijang to use the mold for bumblebee
Is a Japanese release is suppose to be weird thei also made evasion mode optimus with the g1 head and give it accessories to turn It in to (good generay) the Japanese anime version with custom parts.

Still remember the KO made by the late Weijiang. Never got a chance to buy it, yet, but I did modify my EM Optimus Prime to have shoulder flaps that become the truck's back.

It's interesting how they basically just copied all the improvements verbatim from the weijiang m01 commander KO. I usually don't like to overemphasize the importance of unlicensed KOs on official products, but in this case it can't be a coincidence.

I remember getting the original evasion mode Optimus Prime for Christmas. I loved it so much. But then one day, when I was transforming it (like you would) the left arm broke. You know how the arms on this mold are connected to the body via flat plates/side of the truck mode? Yeah well that snapped off and I couldn't put it back together. I ended up throwing that Optimus prime away and now I would do anything to get it back.
I need to buy this new model (if I can still buy it)

I have the leader class sized bumblebee from the BB movie, I won it in the comics drawing competition back in 2018, fun figure, standard articulation but the plastic snapped off twice on the front bumper. Definitely a figure that would fit well with the other leaders.
I mean, I absolutely love that evasion mode Optimus mold.
There's a version of that mold with Nemesis Prime colors, and I want it because I want a Bayverse Optimus, and Bayverse Optimus is the most violent Optimus, so giving him actual Nemesis Prime colors is just perfect. And the vehicle mode is great too.
Somewhat reminiscent of Movie The Best if I'm remembering?

I have this figure for 5 Years and it still holds up, Unfortunately his Gun Snapped in two Different Spots, I I tried fixing it, but it Broke some more, so I Gave him a G1 prime gun that's made out of Lego lol

I had a Japanese evasion mode Optimus Prime colored to look like Nemesis Prime but while transforming it, it’s right arm and left leg broke, and it was a gift from my great grandma
Just bought this guy off buyee, hopefully it's as good as the hype
I wish there was a good movie megatron in this scale
EDIT: The loose joints and wonky transformation are big caveats, but the great bot and truck modes make up for it.
Absolutely my favorite Bayverse mode for Optimus. Wish we would’ve seen it with more color in the film rather than just with a dust covering him
I gave up trying to get this guy because everytime I looked it was either between $250 and $400 and if I could find it cheaper it was some Chinese seller with like less that 20 feedback rating!

I imagine that because they retrofitted the ratchets on to the hips of the figure, it caused them to be loose

I am no fan of the figures made by Hasbro based from their Bayformers movies. However, those 3rd parties made better figures that are cheaper, better transformation, and far durable...I bought many from them.

It was a japan only toy released at the tail end of the bumblebee toyline in Japan.

Wei Jiang COMMANDER, Oversized Evasion Optimus, anyone? Wei Jiang made an AMAZING version of this mold that address all of your problems. Much more chrome throughout, automotive grade paint with the flames on his legs, better weapon, dark metallic gray parts instead of.. That. Yup, he might be my best optimus.

I had the weijiang version of the voyager mold, it was pretty similar to this one but even more “masterpiece” like. Ended up selling it because it didnt fit with my collection

I'm not sure if you saw this already, but if you look real closely in the movie, Optimus actually has teeth. They also flutter around the inside of his mouth while he talks.

Once I decided to add this guy to my collection about a year ago, the search for a deal ended up costing me about 150% of his aftermarket value and leaving me with two copies of him.
The first I bought for roughly half price off eBay because the gun was broken - snapped in half at the hinge. No big deal, I'm used to fixing that kind of thing. But once the figure arrived, the chrome was scratched up and all of the ratcheted joints had an unpleasant degree of play to them. He just felt...bad. Then, despite repair efforts including careful disassembly of the gun (including pushing pins) so I could access the problem area, I could not get the repair to stand up to the stresses of transformation. I could have just stored the faux-gad tanks on his back permanently and lived with the shorter (and honestly more reasonably sized) gun, but man, I could not. It ate at me.
After about two weeks, I found a near perfect copy for sale and paid the going rate for it. I am a broken man who craves plastic crack, but a broken man with a nice Legendary Prime on display and a not so nice one in a storage bin somewhere.

I know this won’t probably get answered as to how old the video is. Is this a Takara figure? Hasbro? I can’t find info online about it. Nor on eBay. I’d like to buy one. But not sure I want to pay the high shipping from Japan
It's Takara legendary Optimus Prime. It was part of Takara's BBM mainline back in 2018. You may be able to find some outside of Japan, I tend to see the nemesis a lot in North America but they can command high prices outside of Japan so that may require a lot of searching.
