This is our updated 2023 biomolecules video! You will find the script similar to our 2016 older biomolecules video, but the art & audio is improved in this version. In addition, there is more detail for biomolecule functions as they relate to cell structure and function! If you previously purchased our Unlectured Series (www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Amoeba-Sisters-Unlectured-Series-BIOMOLECULES-3907308 ), check on July 31st for an additional script template and updated guide if you wish to use this video version (although the old video will remain up if you prefer it)! I'm going to college to become an electrical engineer so I don't even need to learn this stuff, but I also remember watching your videos for bio and AP bio in high school so it's just so nice coming back here for the memories!
My teacher plays your videos whenever available. We are literally in Serbia, and almost nobody knows how to speak English, but it's all super easy and understandable! Love this channel, I don't care if it makes me a nerd.
@@shiny_selenium6448 first year biochemistry student, also reviewing this for my biology final lol. Obviously much more in depth but still need to come back to the foundations!
IVE BEEN WATCHING U GUYS SINCE MY FRESHMAN YEAR IN HIGHSCHOOL IM NOW IN MY LAST YEAR OF MY AA AND YOURE STILL HELPING ME THROUGH SCIENCE. I LOVE THE AMORBA SISTERS !!!!
I love you and your channel. You've been saving my butt with the same videos from grade eight to university. Today was my second day of uni and it was awful, but putting this on, its like hours of review in minutes as all my childhood memories come back... It works as both a destressor/relaxation moment, and studying/review All of the love from a stressed uni student who grew up watching you both...
I'm From Brazil and i just to thank you for this amazing videos !! The vídeos are amazing !! And they are helping to study for a medical exam !! Thanks so much !! May God Bless you !!
I’ve seen this video in my 3rd period! I really appreciate your help! Your videos are amazing! I also did a quiz on biomolecules along with other topics, including Skeletal Structure, and I got a perfect score! 😄
Thank you so much for your videos. You are helping me with planning my daughter's homeschool Biology curriculum. Your videos are awesome, I watch them and make little mini quizzes for her. You are the best!!
Hello amoeba sisters! It is a friendly suggestion to make a video on packaging of DNA helix as it would be helpful for a lot of people :) lots of love from India
I’ve been watching your vids sense 6th grade! Mind you now I am a sophomore!!!! I’ve loved seeing your channel grow along with the content/ community!!!
I watched the old video in 7th grade biology class, and we're learning about biomolecules in my sophomore year rn. This will help me fo' sho'. You and me both, Petunia. 6:58
I wonder, can you do a video about Skeletal Structure if you hadn’t Amoeba Sisters? I would really appreciate it, especially since I’m taking Biology right now.
Thanks amoeba sister it's really use for me today because tomorrow is my mid exam 😭 suddenly I searched about biomolecules and metabolism I seen ur video now finally I learned 🥺💗💫 easily thanks a lot sisters
IM LITERALLY IN GRADE 8 AND OUR TEACHER JS UPDATED OUR SYLLABUS AND I HAD NO IDEA WHAT IT WAS COZ WE NEVER DID IT IN CLASS, YOUR VIDEO HELPED SM ILY WE HAVE OUR TEST TOM.
Me: I would like to thank my Biology teacher for helping me pass my Biology I Honors class. *Bio teacher stands up* Me: SIT DOWN I’M TALKING ABOUT THE AMOEBA SISTERS!
Not me a third year using this video because I got the response of "just know your stuff" when you asked for help reviewing concepts you haven't heard in years for Cell Biology
There are definitely more elements like sulfur (7:12 ) that can be included, although for our video, we tried to stick with the most general elements that are found in both the biomolecule's monomer and polymer. Some amino acids for example don't contain sulfur.
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!! I wanted to ask you for a favor amoeba sisters. My whole class is trying to convince our biology teacher to give us some extra points in our finale grade. Maybe if you can tell her to do so, she will. Thank you
Hi, love your videos. I never thought we get nucleic acids from food. I thought our bodies get the other macromolecules from food but makes the nucleic acids internally. Do we really get the nucleic acids from food?
There are nucleic acids in our food; however, it's not something that has standards established [edit to add we mean that it isn't something that is required to be listed on food labels with]. We do have enzymes (such as nucleases!) that specifically function to break down the nucleic acids in our food, and components of it can be used to build other structures (including our own nucleic acids) which we find really fascinating! We're going to add a great article from "The Conversation" (an organization that teams up journalists with scientists & academics) written by a professor of molecular biology in our description.
watched 4/5 understanding. carboydrates, lipids, proteins, nucleic acids, monomer building block usually referring to same type of 'block' that makes up something larger, carbs- bread glucose. lipids -> fats oils, divercise group. proteins -> muscle tissue, receotrce, enzymes. nucleic acid -> contains gentic info.

Monomers of all macromolecules
Proteins : amino acids
Nucleic acids : nucleotides
Polysaccharides : carbohydrates
Lipids : glycerol and fatty acids
Carbohydrate: Monosaccharide
Thanks
Lipids don't usually weigh over 800 Daltons, so they shouldn't be macromolecules by definition, no?
Ty!!
thank you so much i needed this
I’m a pharmacy student and this really helped me to understand my general biology lectures 🥹

I find it interesting you didn't mention sulfur. Is that in a later section?
