    Yes Mecha Bellum is war of the Machine, in Casus Belli it means a cause to go to war! Awesome videos!

    "what the heck does bellum mean anyway". War, my friend. it's Latin for War. "Sic vis pacem, para bellum" If you want peace, prepare for war,

    Indrid please you are killing me. when you deal with enemies that are using a ton of missiles. and you get sabertooths, give them the missile interception upgrade. you got hard countered by that in your first video of this game. I figured you would have noticed how valuable that tactic is by now.

    Ended up getting Mechabellum as well mostly thanks to your gameplay, it is quite a fun refreshing take on RTS.

    I'll say that I'm personally finding a lot of success with phoenixes over marksmen. They're just very similar units, except phoenixes are fast and half the units in the game can't hit them. And you can get a lot of them out quickly in the mid-to-late game, since they're two to a squad.

  • @wolfsigma
    @wolfsigma 3 месяца назад +2

    I think the EM Shot upgrade for the Marksmen is beyond useful. Knocking out the enemy tech and slowing them can work wonders against big buff targets like steel balls and fortresses.
    Of course my favorite tactic is to put Hackers on the flankers because then that Fortress and the Vulcan are yours and add to your eventual point total. Flankers are very easy to set Hackers onto.

    You're right about the Arclights vs Crawler thing. You want Arcs against Crawler, and Mustangs against Fangs. Arcs are ok against basic Fangs, but once the Fangs get Shields the Arclights take ages to take them down. Mustangs get swarmed by Crawlers but mow down Fangs with ease.

    • @jarrakul
      @jarrakul 3 месяца назад

      Mustangs with their aoe upgrade take out crawlers /very/ well, though.

    • @Freecell82
      @Freecell82 3 месяца назад +1

      @@jarrakul They do, but you hate to actually click the upgrade. Range is mandatory, which makes HE very expensive, and it means you can't really tech them further. On top of that, if you go mustangs into crawlers, you have to decide whether to tech range or HE first. Neither is good alone, and that really hurts the snowball, which mustangs absolutely need.

      @jarrakul 3 месяца назад

      @@Freecell82 So far I've been having plenty of success with just the AoE upgrade. I definitely agree getting both is too much investment in most matches.

    The reason people advise fangs against arcs is because of the personal shields. So buying arcs into fangs is a bit of a tempo play - good until they press that button, but scary after. It's not *necessarily* incorrect, but it has an expiry date. The normal basic answer to fangs is mustangs, especially with range.
    And yeah, wasps will absolutely wreck mustangs if they start in range of each other. It's just that that rarely happens, which makes mustangs a very effective counter. The wasps can't get close normally without losing half their numbers.

    The problem with the Stangs vs Wasps in Game 1 was mainly bad placement. You want to put the Stangs further away, so they can use their superiour range and take down the Wasps as they come in. The way you placed them was basically the worst possible option, the Wasps instantly annihilated half of your first pack with a single volley.

    Loving the mechabellum videos. Bought it cause of these vids. Im rubbish, but it's fun. Second the idea for a third chaff unit. Thanks Indrid, and keep up the great work.

    Needed to space those mustangs at their max range to the wasps as they out range them and the wasps would be distracted by the crawlers.

    Why not use missile interceptor on the sabretooth to deal with the stormcallers?

    • @Chromodar
      @Chromodar 3 месяца назад

      Yep, always worth considering if you get sabertooth in unit drop when opponent has unanswered stormcallers.

    First match was painful to watch. Consider this:
    You placed the mustangs (a ranged unit) directly next to the wasps and the border. You mitigated your own range advantage and allowed your enemy to place units in a way you would not be able to react to.
    What can we learn from this?
    1. Don't place range unit directly next to enemy units.
    2. If you are not pushing agressively, leave some space in front of your units where you can later place chaff or something

    Eco rounds are decently popular, you take a specialist who gives bonus supplies or one that can unlock powerful units for free, then just skip on buying anything for the first one or two rounds. It requires heads up play though, you have to kind of get in your opponent's head and recognize what path they're likely to go. In your last game, the guy didn't account for you being an aerial specialist when he went war factory and that escalated the defeat for him. Everything past that point was reactionary and far too slow.

  • @sunonaro

    i hate being a backseat gamer but i gotta say this to help anyone who might read it
    at 5:45 you can see how terrible an idea it is to make a parallel placement in the face of wasps, it allows them all to split fire and get maximum damage
    meanwhile at 5:50 you can see the the upside of make them horizontal to the enemy making the fast firing wasps waste shots on the same unit.
    remember people, wasting shots or giving free shots is the easiest way to lose in this game, and to take advantage of your counter placement.
    edit: also please stop using your fire incendiary bomb vertically, you do that everytime you get it and its such a waste for its high cost, it does crazy damage, its almost always better to use it horizontally as it clears so much chaff before they even make it halfway out.
