    I'm in Southeastern Michigan, north of Detroit. That was extremely hard work. Unless you live in this environment, you really know how hard it is to rake frozen leaves or edge a frozen lawn. Im so happy I found your channel. Finally, a creator from my neck of the woods! 😊 Judging by a t-shirt that I saw you wearing, I thought you might be in the Genessee County area. The fact is you took on an insanely hard thing to do this time of the year in our northern climate. I can actually say I never seen anyone out there except to remove snow or lay down salt on sidewalks. I'm glad I stayed and watched the whole thing. I use to thing you were really cool for going that extra mile to fix things around these houses butt now I know you are the kindest hearted person I've ever seen. Wish I had two nickels. What is wrong with America that they can’t find solutions to abandoned homes and so many homeless people? Is this a bank problem... perhaps our banks are a big part of this problem...

    • @alanyoder7629
      @alanyoder7629 8 месяцев назад +14

      Your correlation is flawed. Homelessness is an issue for sure . However, a great majority of the homeless are in that situation due to the fact that they are financially unable to sustain a home. Rent or mortgage requirements being the two largest costs involved. Your statement seems to imply otherwise. There isn’t a lack of housing, it’s the lack of finances to support the residence. And a lot of the time it’s because the person is irresponsible in the handling of their finances. Does there need to be affordable housing ? Absolutely. Should jobs pay well enough to support decent housing? Definitely . Fixing the second issue will fix the first one. Until employers curb their greed and pay living wages and lenders and landlords do the same a permanent solution isn’t possible. Suggesting, as you seem to be, to just let homeless people take over empty houses is not a solution . Without the means to support a residence it is in fact NOT a solution at all. Push for legislation to force decent wages and prevent over inflated prices as the proper steps for solving the issue. In short, vote out all republicans who currently hold office and oppose fair social services and support corporate greed.

    • @nikkid7838
      @nikkid7838 8 месяцев назад +10

      @@alanyoder7629 housing costs have skyrocketed outpacing wages. Causing families to lose their homes. Having numerous empty houses and families living on the street is heartbreaking. Yeah don’t think one political party is the cause. There are greedy democrates as well

    If it's Monday, it's time for another "Mid Life Crisis" video. It was a very BROWN Christmas and New Years here. We got snow in Montreal yesterday (Sunday) some snow. And from tomorrow into Wednesday we will get a few more inches, and maybe some freezing rain. It is currently (24.8F) (-4c) in Montreal at 10 am.
    Ladies and Gentlemen, here is one very smart, strategic, fast on his feet thinker. And a lesson on just what happens when you use garden tools on FROZEN ground !! he he he he
    You gotta make it work, right ?? As the snow began to fall during the reveal, this might be the last yard clean until Spring. But I am sure we will see many SNOW BLOWER videos coming up. Because once it begins to snow in Michigan, all bets are off, depending on how close you are to the lake, YES ???
    Thank you for joining us for this Monday Mid Life Stockman Video. (Y'all come back now, ya hear !!) Who said that ??? Extra points if you get the reference.

    Great job Midlife Stockman, I am amazing by your patience with that frozen ground , vines and endless overgrowth. I am making homemade Turkey soup while thinking geezs I got it easy and look at him work so hard. Curious as to if anyone disapproved of you working on their property, any complaints? Keep being you and pray you know that you are making a big difference in those communities.

    Mr. Midlife! Happy New Year to you and your family. I missed you last week. Another wonderful job under not so great conditions. Please don’t hurt yourself! I hope your weed whacker had a warrantee. I like how you told us the temperature. Maybe add the date and what town you are in?
    It’s just the beginning of the snow season. Excited to see what you come up with for content. May I suggest checking out Ryan Hall ya All on you tube. Best weather guy on line. Stay safe! Love the drone shots. See ya next week!

    If you weren't wearing blue jeans, I would think that that was filmed in black and white! There is absolutely no color in the yard, fence or sky - everything is white and gray. I'm so glad you're there to bring back a little color and Life to that neighborhood. Keep it up. We appreciate you - and your talents!

    I have to say I always enjoy your hard work on these neglected properties. I am glad you have a sense of humour when you have equipment failure and you improvise. I am amazed at the many abandoned properties in your area. Who actually owns them and why don’t they get sold and restored? I live in Australia and although we do have a few abandoned properties there are not many. You have done a superb job as per usual. Again you have gone above and beyond to make this lovely old property look liveable again. Hope someone sees the need to renovate and restore these old homes.🇦🇺

    At first I found it hard to accept that ANYONE lived here, it looked so desolate. I think this is one of your best transformations you've ever done and I hope you'll be back in the spring like you said.

    You don’t see too many North American winter yard makeovers. Nicely done braving the elements! What a difference.

    I saw an electric brush for sidewalks and driveways. It is an attachment so it may be gas powered, IDK. I think it could be very helpful on your driveways and sidewalks. I pray that Jesus gives you all the power you need and strengthen you as you scoop every stuck on vine and frozen grass lump. May you be blessed every day of your life for helping Michigan properties come back to life. Thank you.

    First of all happy New Year to you and your family and I pray it's an extremely blessed one you all deserve it.🎉❤
    What an awesome job! Thank you for working as hard as you are in the weather elements.
    I was so happy to turn on RUclips and see a new video posted. Please understand I do know that you work extremely hard to do what you're doing for the neighborhood and surrounding communities. I'm praying that your dream comes true, to be able to buy some of these houses in the future and fix them up for someone else that needs housing. Also hope in the meantime someone will see these houses and buy them now and start revitalizing these communities and providing good housing for people.
    Have a blessed day and the rest of your week🙏

    Holy moly man your momma didn’t raise a quitter! Some would have taken it as a sign when your truck broke down, your weed wacker broke, the ground is frozen and you cut the grass with a hedger that another day would be better. Like in the spring when it’s warmer than 30° ! Bless you!

    Surely the cold is 'invigorating' and inspiring to not stop, but keep moving. Well done. Thankful for all the hard work you so happily offer and work through all difficulties, come what may. Loved your determination to improvise the 'replacement' for the whip. It worked beautifully.

    I'm from So. CA, didn't know yard work of that kind was done in 30 degrees cold. That was very thoughtful of you for the safety of the kids in the neighborhood. I hope you got lots of thanks. God bless you and the work you do.

    Here is a suggestion for you that might help: clean up a bunch of yards this coming spring/summer and hold those videos for actual showing until the winter months. That way in the winter you keep videos coming, it keeps you from having to get out into the winter elements risking your equipment being damaged and, of course, keeps the pay from YT coming. Ex: if you have 12 hard winter weeks, find 12 yards to do and keep on hold for winter showing. If you can't find enough yards there where you live, then you maybe you could travel to some nearby towns. Just an idea to consider. As for this yard, amazing job as usual!! Especially considering the weather conditions! 👍

      This is 100% my plan for the coming spring/summer. I also will be taking some trips this winter to do a few properties! Thanks for the comment.
