      I saw that episode of Al Blades. Al Blades, this guy Sean, Kevin (lawncare juggernaut) and Spence (SB mowing) are all great guys. I think there's a guy who calls himself Mr 2620 who also had a weed whacker stolen off his truck. Like Al, he didn't see it happen but found out later when he watched his video.

    The homeowner needs to go out at night with a 10' wasp spray can & spray the entrance into the hive until the can is empty. They go inside at night so it is safer. Wasp (or angry bees) do not like noise or running, they fan their wings to alert the rest of the gang. You did real good at only getting stung once...moving too fast for them!! Great job as usually..I am in the central part of Michigan..good luck with your new channel.

Your attention to detail is impeccable. I also love your interaction with us, and those aerial shots are awesome! I'm so sorry you got stung. That is so painful. While I love to watch these transformations, it sometimes makes me sad when you uncover all these borders of stone and wood. You know it was a lovely garden once. I bet the wooden enclosure was a kitchen garden. I would love to see someone bring it to life again. Especially when I see the abandoned houses and how so much thought was put in to making a beautiful garden, with flowerpots, broken benches and birdbaths, and empty flowerboxes. I am glad you give these special places some love. They were someone's home once. Thank you again for all you do!

    Congrats on your new channel. I'm down here with Al dodging hurricanes in Florida but having lived in NY it's good to see northern climates represented in a channel like this. Some tips having watched other channels grow. Remind people that you're new at this and if they like the channel to subscribe, thumbs up and comment. This helps up your activity which pushes your channel further up in a search. Also sharing is a big help. One of the best things about a successful channel like this is consistency. Al without fail 90% of the time puts out a new video on the same day every week. Even if it's not a landscaping video.. keeping connected with subscribers is important. People come to have you in the back of their minds when they get used to you and will look forward to the next video. Some guys disappear for a few months and the buzz tends to fade and people move on to other channels. I know you're just starting so the revenue isn't there yet for you to drop everything and only do this for days at a time but I think your numbers will get there. People need to realize that when they wonder why you didn't cut more of the property. People are used to the work Al does but he spends 3 to 4 days working on larger jobs to make that one video. In the beginning he took just one day out of the week and filmed only that.. the rest of the time he was mowing customer accounts. As the numbers grew it allowed him to focus only on the channel and it's all he does now as the following is there to allow it. If you're really into upping your channel it may help to get with someone on creating a brand label for merchandise sales. You never know how many people are willing to buy a shirt or whatnot as your channel grows . But the main thing again is consistency in keeping connected with 'fans'. It'll be interesting to see your angle on dealing with the winter months when there isn't grass to cut.. be it leaf cleanup or using a snow-blower. Believe me, people that watch mowing videos for the satisfying relaxation response they provide will like seeing a shoveling or snow blower video just as much. Whatever you do up there at that time will give you an edge over those in the south who don't have that unique environment to deal with. But keeping connected with the channel is what will boost your numbers over time. So best of luck and I'm excited to see the growth of your channel. ~Scott

      Nice advice @nysnowbird. I was also wondering about videos for the upcoming fall and winter months. I'm not a snowbird but a frog (Not leaving til I croak 😂) Another suggestion for videos would be one where you introduce yourself and share a little about yourself , why you started the channel, what are your future goals, etc. As you get a few more videos, you could answer viewers questions and respond to comments that are funny or meaningful. I started watching Al shortly after he started. It will be just as fun watching Midlife Stockman grow!

    Another awesome vlog . I don't think I heard of what area you are located in any of your videos. Maybe on your homepage you can post what vicinity of the country you are making these videos. That way if a viewer or follower knows of a property in need of a makeover , you could check it out. I have a few questions for you . Why do you do these kind of videos besides the obvious helping people ? What inspires you for future vlogs ? What would be your ultimate challenge in a property, that you would like to come across ? And if you could collaborate with another creator who would it be ?

    • @MidlifeStockman
      @MidlifeStockman  11 месяцев назад +1

      Great question… First of all, I’m in the metro Detroit area. For sure the main motivation is helping people… But I also love transforming properties. I like taking something that’s a mess and making it new! Ultimate challenge would probably be some of the abandoned buildings down in Detroit. It’s pretty bad in certain areas. Collaboration… That’s easy, my man Al Bladez. We have been connected now for a few days. Chatting a lot. He’s a good good dude.
      Thanks for the questions and support! Much more to come.

    Nice transformation of that yard. And sorry for the hornet sting as well. But I had that same scenario happen to me and I wasn't near or harming the bald-faced hornets one little bit. But while the hornet won that battle, I won the war and eradicated the entire nest. If you leave the nest alone until winter, than you can take it down without worry because they die off during the cold... I couldn't wait after they attacked me though...

    Great Transformation! Wise not to tackle the wasps nest. Wasps are more docile than hornets and that doesn’t mean a lot when you’re around their nest. Hornets usually are solitary, wasps build nests. I like seeing your before and after. Love your drone footage too! Thanx for the adventure. Hope the landlord appreciates all you did.

    I had to comment again after you shared the neighbors were watching the Detroit Lions.
    I’m from Chicago. My oldest son watched the Chicago Bears thru 18 years old. He continued his 4 years during College in IN. He would say he’s watching the Bears vs. the Lions.
    He relocated from Chicago to Dearborn, after graduation, for a job at Ford. He married a girl from Dearborn and they live near her family.
    When I visit them now in Dearborn, he says the Lions vs. Bears. Traitor lol.

    Yes, I had to comment :) First, (well not first) I discovered the vid where all the vines had completely grown up and over the hedges of one property along the front and sides! Then I watched the huge transformation of the abandoned property with the downed trees (plural!) and thorn bushes of Michigan. Now I come across this video and there is the Midlife Stockman volunteering to clean up another property with a Hornet's Nest in the Front Yard!! How does this man do it? How does he go on week after week finding and rigorously, meticulously mowing, striming, raking and sawing all the debris from years past?? His wife and kids must give him so much love!!

    Another great transformation of a beautiful lawn. Kind of dangerous with the Hornets in the tree and the poison ivy. You are a brave man to go near either one. The homeowner needs to get the professionals out to solve the hornet problem. I am glad that you didn't get too many stings. God bless you for being so kind to people that need some help. Watching from Texas.🇱🇷🌝👍
