the xlr jack is ok, but you need stereo /. TRS / or Balanced jack input on speakers so you dont hear the noise. balanced cable will eliminate noise and preventing other signals, so your audio sound more clearer.
Learn the basic concepts of audio connections, man. Not only the physical shape of the plugs but the kind of signals. You need a balanced connection, that is two signals out of phase through a single cable, for noise cancelling. That means that the plug has three points of contact, and you need XLR plugs or TRS (aka stereo)
i recomend using Balanced TRS to XLR cables instead of unbalanced which is what you are using now (you can tell if it is balanced by looking at the TRS jack and if it has 2 lines on it instead of 1 it is balanced
It's probably too late now, but you never want to blast brand new speakers. Brand new cones need a break in period to loosen up a bit. Otherwise you'll over work them and lose some bottom end
Thanks for sharing that information, very insightful. I just got some Yamaha Hs5's, your advice was factual and very helpful. If you allow circuitry to warm up and dont overheat it, the quality of the sound 🔊is preserved better. The speakers will retain a balanced EQ frequency more efficiently🤔
to be honest i have a krk rokit 8 pair so on my first day i did a bass sweep out and the sound was just fine so i think the break in period happens overtime without volume control
Wow the 5 inch really answered my question for years haha I always thought it was in heigh too, these are pretty decent size in the video, I’m going to buy these! And the sound is amazing! Enough for a bedroom studio 😅😂 , thanks for the video
You didn't do the soundproofing of the speakers and the tabletop. As a result, the speaker resonates, the bass is muddy, and the sound interference is large, which masks the performance of the midrange. The wiring of the power cord and speaker cable is messy, which is a bit difficult for audio enthusiasts to accept. :)
Is an audio interface needed to use these speakers? I was hoping they would just plug into the computer lol if I need an audio interface on top of the speakers that's unfortunate.

Not needed, these are powered speakers. But an interface would help control and monitor the volume.
@@smokelessfire so how would you use these with a Mac if you didn't need an interface?
an active speaker does not have an amplifier internally. a sound card would improve the quality a bit but you could use the speakers without.
