Perform the polarity test FIRST, before any other test. If you encounter a problem there, ALL other test results will be invalid!
Man this isnt like any other dj channel the editing just makes it pure gold! Brilliant review u just earned a new sub!
Perfect intro to the KRK tools app, my G4 KRK Rokit RP5's arrive tomorrow! :))
Thanks. Just got a new set of KRK 10's. This has helped heaps. Unfortunately every time I sit in the Listening Position I seem to be subjected to a short transcendental experience
That reaction edit was top notch 😂 Great video!
Thanks, very helpful rundown!
Loved the Video. This really helped us to calibrate our Yamaha HS8 and I would be also repeating the same for the JBLs and Genelecs in the next Calibration. Thank you and KRK for such a simple and yet a Powerful Tool!
Thank you, it certainly is a very useful tool. Glad the video helped!
We are really glad to hear this. AND Thank you to G I T M for putting together this great video.
@@KRKSYSTEMS Hi, WilI Experience The Benefits Of A General Active 8" Monitor With The RP7? Or 8" Monitors Are 8" Monitors? Also I'eead ThatIt's Actuall6,XX" So Is There A Whole Lot More Benefit Over The RP5 & Are They Actually 5".. I Have Used A Pre-Owned RP5 Over The Past 2 Years Would It Be An Improvement, Or Will Going A Range Up Be The Real Improvement?
Perfect review mate! LiStEnInG pOsItIoN.
I love how meme-y this video is hahah! Can't wait to tune my KRK Classics tomorrow

I have the x32 which i can of course put pink noise out through the speakers that should work just fine right?
very useful. Thank You!
Fantastic, thanks so much for that.
Works best with the cheaper rookits but not the v series 4? Does this mean they are working on update to them?
Thanks you very much for this video!! BIG UP
When doing the level meter, does the volume setting from your phone needs to be all the way up to 100?
hello sir i have a krk's 6 3 gen so I'm confused of wich volume should i set on the rear of speakers 0db or +6db?
Very well explained mate
the 4 naan joke made me subscribe lol!! the mix of humour with your info is great! just gives you the edge over other channels, on point bro!
*LISTENING POSITION*
Thank you!
I just bought a pair of 7 inches krk last gen and I connected them to a Scarlett foucursitte 2i2 at first both of them sound perfect but after some minutes one of them stop working. I tried changing the plugs but it didnt work. Somebody knows how to fix this??
I’m so glad I watched til the end 😂😂😂
App is dead or for old phones :(
Great video mate, I have a question though. What if you have one of the speakers against a corner in your bedroom, shouldn't you have different EQ presets for L and R speakers in this case? I don't see any one addressing this... Cheers!
awesome video but any chance you can tell me where the canvas behind you is from please??? thanks
Thanks mate
Great editing!
When I send a sound to my monitor via the audio-dongle->3,5 cable->6,5 plug->KrK , the Iphone seems to shut off the mic, so I can't really use the app to achieve what you did. Any suggestions?
What exactly was the fancy special lead you used... and where can you buy it from for android app users? Thanks
incredible tutorial hanks :)
One question can the cable used be any Chinese 2 $ stereo 3.5 cable with 2 1/4 mono output?
Has anyone got an suggestions on how to use the EQ recommendation with their sub? Do I flip the sub off and do the speakers as normal and then listen with the sub on and adjust by ear, or do EQ recommendation again? Even though there wont be an DSP settings I can switch on the sub, just crossover and gain
Any guidance appreciated
rokit 8 g4 or dj vm 80. what would you say is better for djing in a room??
how can I connect my iphone with the krk speakers? Dont have no xlr to 3,5mm
Please I got a question, can someone us krk Rokit two left?
I can't find an Y splitter for my iphone 14 that's long enough to reach my speakers, any suggestions?
Muchas Gracias 👍🏼
Very helpfull Thankyou!
Are these apps compatable for androids? the only input I got is USB C..... is a USB-C to 1/4 inch jack a thing? and will it work?
Can you please share what song is that?? that was a nice song ,please the one you played at the end. GOOD JOB on this presentation
As someone who doesn't have this tool, is there any other way to tune them? I have krkr 8 g4 any audio sounds files I could loud up and play
I wonder if the volume setting is ok at 0db
I have a really low bass on my krk g5s... what can i do? Almost no bass at all
Google Play wont let me download the KRK app on my Samsung galaxy phone it keeps saying that it wont download for my model. I can't understand why ? it should work for all smart phones. I only purchased my monitors last week but now cant set them up
"4!? That's insane."
What kind of cable do I use to connect my phone to the monitors?
Does it work with only 1 speaker?
Excellent Thanks
Great video love the humour haha
Will this app work for the Rokit powered 6?
What cabel do i need an is the best for reloop rmx60 DJ Mixer.
Someone who knows.?
How do we adjust Krk VXT8 frequency response???
What's is the long aux call and is it lfwt and right for 2 spwakers
Where can I purchase the splitter cable?
yo I need a good pair of monitors for beet making using Maschine and Ableton. The thing is I am confused about quality of KRK G4 in sound tests on RUclips they sound muddy like they lack of highs comparing to Yamaha HS 8 and Adam T8V. What U can say about it and your personal experience with them
what if your phone doesn't have a headphone jack?
Hey mate! Great quality content. What monitors do you use?!
Great presenter.
I kept losing it when they did the "listening position" parts. Good God that was funny. Great video though too
yes but how do I connect my phone? no one anywhere explains this
This was very helpful. Although, I couldn't help but wonder if these steps were all done in the right order. For example, shouldn't polarity and alignment be done before anything else? I suppose it's the apps fault for not listing the stages in a logical order.
In the app, in the explanation for the EQ-Recommendation-tool it says, that you should use the level meter and the alignment first. Don't know about the polarity, but I'd assume that using the tools in the order they are listed in the app (which they did in the video) should be fine
Dude the polarity shit didnt work for me. I plug my phone in with an aux cord and a 1/8 to 1/4 in adaptor and the sound wont come out to test it
Well done VERY FUNNY 😆
What cable is good to connect them to a focusrite 2i2? And is a blanced cable needed for these. Ordered the monitors and just can’t wait to listen to them.
A couple of 1/4" Jack to XLRs like these will do the job:
www.getinthemix.com/accessories/cables-connectors/stagecore-6-35mm-mono-jack-to-male-xlr-professional-audio-cable.htm
JAJAJAJAJJAJAJAJA 🤣 12:20 min was epic jajajajajaja
Excellent explication, perfect vídeo 👌👌
Where do you get the cable to connect your phone to the monitors? I have tried several but the Y-splitter is too close to the 6.35mm end that fits in the back of the monitors. Any links appreciated. 🙏
This cable has a 3 metre option that would do the job!

Hi, I’ve just bought a pair of Krk rokit rp5 g4 and was wondering what cables I need to connect to the Hercules inpulse 500? Cheers
You will need 2 x 1/4" Jack to Male XLR
what cable is that to your phone???????
Hi! Will it works if I calibrate every monitor separately?? Please answer!
Will you mix \ mastering first the left one, and after the second one???? The app is built to help in what you should hear
what kind of wire splitter is this? im trying to find one online :(
You're looking for a 3.5mm Mini Jack to Male XLR Cable like this: www.getinthemix.com/accessories/cables-connectors/stagg-professional-stereo-mini-3-5mm-jack-twin-male-xlr-cable.htm
what's the track?
wouldn't your phone need to have a calibrated mic? if the frequency response of the phones mic isn't totally flat, wouldn't that skew the results? am I missing something?
That was my first thought too. I wonder if KRK put in the work to actually measure various microphones’ frequency response?
there's actually an "option" to disable built in microphone filters. Is that what you mean?
Great
The monitor align in my phone does not helps me. Why?
Using an android maybe
Do they come in a pair? will I need to buy 2 connecting cables?
They are sold individually, and yes will require 2 cables.
Have just purchased these. What settings would you recommend for djing
Whatever sounds best to you. Often people prefer a boost in the low and high frequencies, but as it's DJ use it's completely subjective so choose whatever you like the sound of!
Hiya! I got just one rp5s G4 monitor to start with and to get a feel. Like the sound so far, so i'll be going for the second of the pair. However there isnt any base/kicks comin out of the speaker. Is that how it is supposed to be ? Does it mean i need to buy a sub a well ?
Song?
What would you prefer klipsch 600m or these krk ROKIT 8 g 4s for music listening ?
We don't have experience with the Klipsch 600ms but at a glance, they are fundamentally very different from the Rokits. The Rokits are designed to be studio monitors, arguably favouring electronic music. The Klipsch are however HiFi speakers, designed for enjoyable listening to a variety of music with a more interesting sound. They will not have the same bottom end as the Rokits however, such is often the nature of HiFi speakers, so if you are listening to more bass-intensive music, Rokits will be the way to go.
Hi Phillip, the ROKITs will give you a more accurate representation of how the music is supposed to sound. However, the beauty of the new ROKIT G4 is that there are 25 EQ presets on the back LCD so you really have a lot of variety of sound. Thanks
where did you get such a long y cable?? i cant find one that long anywhere
We have 2 metre ones available: www.getinthemix.com/accessories/cables-connectors/stagg-professional-stereo-mini-3-5mm-jack-twin-male-xlr-cable.htm
💯💯💯
My KRK's are high up. How do I calibrate the tilt, to make up for this? Tweeter should be ear level but my tweeters are above my head, entirely. Is there a workaround?
Thanks.
Some people flip their speakers upside down to help their ears be in the sweet-spot, also to stop the woofer from being central (height-wise) in the room.
You could try this, or alternatively you can get a tilting monitor stand, or wedge-shaped foam to help angle your speakers down.
@@GetintheMix Haven't heard of that until now. Very interesting. Thanks.
Song pls
I don’t get it. What cable did you put in the krk‘s and your phone ? My krk‘s 4th gen only have xlr inputs.
You're looking for a 3.5mm Mini Jack to Male XLR Cable like this: www.getinthemix.com/accessories/cables-connectors/stagg-professional-stereo-mini-3-5mm-jack-twin-male-xlr-cable.htm
I am sure you will find they have a guitar jack input as well 1/4 inch jask
whats the name of the song and was it released?
i want to know that too
Might be a stupid question. The first step he talks about plugging your phone into the speakers to calibrate the speaker volumes. How do you do that?
Also the G4’s only have the xrl/trs port
You can connect the phone directly to the speakers by using a 3.5mm mini jack to XLR or 1/4" Jack cable, something like this: www.getinthemix.com/accessories/cables-connectors/stagg-professional-stereo-mini-3-5mm-jack-twin-male-xlr-cable.htm
@@GetintheMix thank you. already bought the cable to use. another question, when doing the level meter calibration, how do you ask the speakers so that they are at the same DBs?
Can someone link me whats the cable i need to connect my phone to the krk rokit g4
3.5mm mini jack to mono 6.3mm Jacks will do it, or mini jack to XLR.
Something like this: www.getinthemix.com/accessories/cables-connectors/proel-3-5mm-stereo-jack-to-2x-6-3mm-mono-jack-cable.htm
yo this editor is hilarious lmaooo
good job body
And setting at the bottom
I tried to download the app on playstore but couldn't find it, please help!
it may be that your phone doesn't support it so it does not show, a quick way to find out is to go on the playstore via your laptop/desktop and it will tell you if your device supports it or not.
Is there a protective grille faceplate for the Rokit 10-3 G4?
No at the moment - KRK only do them for the 5", 7" and 8" models.
@@GetintheMix How ironic...the most expensive pair of monitors Rokit's that KRK makes and no protection for them? The Rokit G4's have been on the market for about 1.5 years,so they'll probably never make grille covers for the 10-3 G4's.Thanks for the info.
Hey mate
I have the rokit 6... Not the G3 ones
What cable do I use?
Thanks
Use a split balanced xlr male to a 3.5 aux cable for plugging into your computer or if u are djing use split balanced xlr male to split male rca cable or just a split Male xlr to split male xlr cable if you have a balanced input in your dj controller. Hope this helped

No puedo descargar la aplicación...
This app doesnt work for me. No sound coming tru for the eq test. No results for the polarity test.
so, you can't do any of this without the cable for the phone to the monitors
I was actually able to set without a cable. My phone was able to detect my speakers and all is set. You definitely don't need the cable. The sound is definitely different. Great tutorial....
I know.... Annoying, right?
What is the name of the wire that you used to calibrate the settings ?
Nvm I just realized you named it haha thank you !
these speakers sound like the have a spike in the +20k hz range. and the box faceplate makes the sound sound hollow in the mids. these are v series for half the price, I hope they at least do some crossover for the listener and at least make sure the bass is louder. the bass seems not as loud
ohnestly the box sound like the made some cutbacks like the jbl lsr faceplate
