@@TairyuShakuhachi My collection is tiny at the moment. Only local bamboo flutes, and a pair of DiZi. I don't have flute in a full range of scales as people who are serious about them. Flutes are my best friend when I'm feeling sad... so, they're awesome in some sort of way.
I made an unholy hybrid of ryuteki and dizi (basically a ryuteki with dimo hole) and it sounds godly, try it out if you have a cheap ryuteki lying around (can diy, it's literally as simple as making a hole and gluing a 5c dimo from aliexpress, no need to measure anything, just do it between blowing hole and finger holes)
So then, when was either of these examples first created? Is there a sizeable connection between them and the Chinese dizi? In any case, I've often wondered as to why I've never seen or heard such in person. I mean, I have seen the latter of these, but it was only in a display case.
