I think the Shamisen was the first japanese musical instrument that I ever knew and was always thanks to Samurai Warriors since Chousokabe Motochika did had a Shamisen as a weapon there (But I believe that was a very creative liberty since in Sengoku Basara he have an anchor spear...)
Japanese surf rock guitarist and bandleader Takeshi Terauchi started out on shamisen, studying with a shamisen master as a kid. Later in life, he recorded at least one album of shamisen music played on electric guitar.
I don't think anyone's had a boba tea in a while. Man, I miss going to the boba shops in my local mall and getting my favorite boba tea combo: Iced coconut milk tea with strawberry pop boba. It's unbelievably delicious. I wanna learn to make it so I don't have to wait for the mall to open back up. Any chance we'll get a video on the history of boba and/or milk tea? Pretty please??? lol
Thanks so much, lot to learn while having fun! I play the shamisen myself, nagauta style. I can recommend it to everyone, don't be intimidated that it hasn't got frets, you will get used to it! Even better for ear training. :D It's so much fun to play and you can improve quickly.
Uhuuul, I got early. I first feel in love with shamisen from a cover of BadApple on youtube from a traditional japanese band and they were SO FREAKIN MEEEEEETAAAAL

Something else others may not know. In Amami Island (island in Ryukyu), they took the sanshin, gave it golden color strings, and a thin bachi, giving the instrument a higher pitch and a Shamisen "twang" to it, it has a unique play style. They refer to it as a Shamisen. (I hope to get another Sanshin to convert it to an Amami Shamisen one day)
