Hello. I was wondering if you could post measurements (specifically for the wood used in the neck) and materials used. I want to make one myself and am looking forward to doing so. This seems like the most accessible approach so far.
The neck is about 40*1.5*1.5 inches, the belly is 7*2.5*2.5 inches. I forgot the exact name of the materials, but the neck is definitely hardwood, the tuning bar is softwood, and the belly is a normal box bought on Amazon.
A nice video and the shamisen looks nice and sounds good as well. Though I think you should have invested a bit more into the tools, a kitchen knife isn't made for woodworking, using it for something like this could damage the knife and you could injure yourself with it.
You really made it look like anyone could do it haha. Thanks!
Brilliant ! Loved the "plectrum". Inspired to make a shamisen myself now.
Ok, it sounds better than I thought it would
This looks like when I build stuff. Hand work-holding. Notebook workbench. I think I even have that box.
thank you for sharing your craft
hi :), what could be used as a substitute for goatskin? thks , beautiful video

Hi, could you tell me the distance between the bridges? I mean de low bridge and the top bridge where the strings stay. Thanks
Can you elaborate more on the process of how you made the Itomaki?
Well done 👍

Was that white thing a cloth or fiber?

What specific nylon strings did you use was it like the high E,B,D
Yes, probably E,B,D or E,G,D. You need to figure out the tunning on yourself.
please would you have the measurements ? :CCCCCC
Is that genshin inazuma theme in the last part?
how many years in wood crafting have you had?
0
Hey again, what did you use for the strings??? Thanks for helping me out :)
I used nylon classical guitar strings, light tension
@@orlyosiris2245 thanks brotha!! You’ve been a life saver
awesome!
Hi i have a question can i make that shamisen without using the skin?
is it horse head fiddle?
Yo this is awesome! I'm thinking about trying to make one for myself and was wondering what that sheet you used was?
I didn't have any sheets. The music I played in the end is the famous "Sakura".
@@orlyosiris2245 Sorry I should have specified. I mean what material was the sheet you used to cover the box with.
@@deku_the_super_saiyan5255 I used goat skin
@@orlyosiris2245 Thank you very much! Sorry for the confusion again.
👍👍👍
parts list wood sizes common man help a guy out lol
What string did you use
hi man, what did you cover the body of the shamisen with? (white round thing)
Goat skin. Cover it when it’s soggy, then it becomes hard when it dries.
Do a more detailed video teaching us
That’s awesome!! I’m trying to make it but I was wondering how you made the “pick” that you strum with. Would you mind telling me?
I used a spoon
@@orlyosiris2245 oh my gosh you did hahaha. What a cheap alternative usually it’s like $200 for a pick
@@dakotafuchs7931 im pretty sure you could make your own pick out of hardwood, although it may be hard to get the specifics right
@@pige0223 yeah I just might use a spoon to be honest, I’m working on the instrument now so I’m saving the pic situation when I get there lol
SAKURA SAKURA

What can I use for white sheet used on head ?
Goat skin. Cover it when it’s soggy, then it becomes hard when it dries.
@@orlyosiris2245 I got it. Thanks !
What material did you use for the skin?
Goat skin
@@orlyosiris2245Is there any alternate thing that I can use instead of goat skin? Something that I could find anywhere
I'm taking notes! My dad works with wood.
Edit: You used a spoon?!
OMG, why do u use guitasr strings, it totally destroyes the sound. Silk is needed.
Or Nina Benigawa would.
whats the song in the end and is there a tutorial xD
That's Sakura
Haha i've heard this melody used in BABYMETAL's song Megitsune so i thought it's from that. I didn't know about Sakura.
сам тоже делаю

@@vralkathormidugqf2317 I don’t have the link now. Any wood box should work.
