This is God-centered God-focused teaching, just as it should be. Thank you, Pastor, for reminding us why we were created...to love, honor, and know the One True God. He is our Lord, our Savior, and our Redeemer.

Even though I have an exceptional pastor at a church that I attend, tithe to, and serve in weekly, I find that I still always keep a radio or podcast preacher as what I call my "secret pastor." They are like my car preacher. My secret pastor list has included Charles Stanley, RC Sproul, J. Vernon Magee, Rick Warren, Tony Evans, JD Greer, and John Piper. My favorite is John Piper. (Every once in a while I'll ride with Paul Washer and Voddie Baucham, but those guys don't have the sermon volume as some of the others).

Wonderful sermon. The answers to what faith is all about are here, elucidated eloquently with zero stress on the listener by John Piper. By the sermon's end, I realized God had kicked me into watching it (because I was in two minds before).. And I thanked Him straight after Pastor John's ending prayer.

You should be carefully with Rick Warren. Some good stuff, but also a lot of unbiblical stuff. Piper, MacArthur, R. C. Sproul (+), Paul Washer are biblical preachers, you should hear. God bless!

@@ermiastessema1066 I would ditch the Rick Warren nonsense. WOKE false teacher and leading millions off the cliff straight into hell. The Bible says NOTHING regarding a purpose driven life. That's Warren and Osteen babble. Repent and run as fast as you can away from that false teaching trap. If you know it's false teaching and continue to participate GOD knows your sin.

Such a purifying truth. Freedom from desires, from opinions. All the temporal cares dim when we look from this spiritual mountain. I pray God would bind my every thought to it and let me conduct myself in this life from this glorious reality. I lament now as all words just said fall inadequate.

You know what I find very strange?
It's that in the moment of the fall into sin mankind becomes less like God
and more like God at the same time.
No longer like God in goodness and holiness, but like God more to know
good from evil. Behold the man has become like one of us to know good from evil.
Mankind will be more like God in the end then in the beginning. Because the end of a matter is greater then it's beginning ✨️

Question: the death sentence replaced by God's loving discipline.....? Is that why Heb 12:8?
    Luke1:67-79; 1 Cor 11:31,32 and Ps89, Isa55:3, Acts 13:34 , breathtaking.
Both the Abrahamic/Davidic new Covenant sealed by an OATH of God

But then they listen to preachers that are awful like Rick Warren and Beth Moore and lots of health and wealth gospel false teachers. What's hard in our lives today is that there are so many people who mix the good teachers with the wolves and it's a lack of discernment because it's a lack of understanding God's word and I only pray that they will continue to plumb the depths of the word of God so that they will hear these heretical statements that these pastors are making and take a stand for the truth.

Contrary to what is commonly taught, I DO NOT believe that sexual intercourse in marriage is an illustration of our marriage to Jesus in heaven.
I do believe that it is the non-romantic and non-sexual aspects of marriage that illustrate the marriage to Jesus.
Men and women do not marry or remain married to each other in heaven, so there is no sexual intercourse or childbearing there, and I believe that.
Nakedness and sexual intercourse is inherently disgusting to God, but I think that He had to allow it by permit of earthly marriage to produce the amount of people He intended for to exist. No more and no less.
We will be clothed in white linen to represent righteousness in heaven, so even within the marriage to Jesus, nakedness is UNrighteous.
When God came down onto Mount Sinai, He told MARRIED men NOT to have sexual intercourse with their wives, so there must be something inherently inappropriate about sexual intercourse even within marriage for God to want people to avoid it while He is there.
When Paul told husbands to love their wives because it is an illustration of the marriage to Jesus, He was talking about AGAPE love, which is God's love, and not eros love which is romance and sexual intercourse.
So in heaven, we will be married to Jesus and in this marriage, we will enjoy His agape love, His spiritual beauty, the fullness of joy at His presence, the eternal pleasures of His Right Hand, His satisfaction of all our desires, and just the mere fact for Him being God.
Men and women will still enjoy each other's friendship, spiritual brotherhood and sisterhood, clothed beauty, individual uniqueness, and spiritual beauty, which are the same things that we will enjoy of Jesus in heaven.
