This is Lin Dan's twilight edition. Still his court coverage and shot placement is really impressive. Only thing lacking is his power. But he compensated it by precision and patience. True Legend.

And even then his court coverage is so slow and limited compared to his golden years. Look how much he struggles with front court movement compared to his early days
You haven't seen the real power of Lin Dan, go and watch his matches of 2008 to 2012. He was extremely offensive especially around 2008 and very fast. Gradually he changed his style idk why
@@vinitakaushik4796 because his body could no longer cope with the aggressive style from 2014. He really struggled with front court movement and explosive rear rear court movement. I think he had major knee problems.

One legend on his way out VS a legend in the making.. that's the beauty of racquet sports. Lin Dan's past his prime, lacking in speed and power but has immense experience and amazing footwork playing against a much younger, stronger and taller opponent. Every lob to the back of the court becomes a 3 quarter shot because of Axelsen's reach. Lin Dan's strategy is to slow down the game and force the opponent to play to his tempo while the younger and hungrier Axelsen is trying to ramp the game up.

@@cyrilleyong9615 Axelsen is an idiot who has no skill, and has to rely on him being tall to have an advantage over others. Put him into his category, with a 20% increased size of the court, and lets see how good he really is. He's just a tall baby boy who gets emo whenever he doesn't get what he wants.

Lin Dan conserved his energy for the first two sets and played Tai-Chi with Axelsen, then sped up in (the second half of) the last set to finish him off - true legend!

@haraldsvik1452 Prime Axelson could not beat Prime Momota. Prime Lin Dan destroyed Momota in head to head numbers. Lin Dan nearing his retirement still put up a good fight against Prime axelson.
Simple conclusion: Lin Dan > LCW > Momota > Axelson

林丹太强了，可以看出老年的林丹有意节省体力的打法，尽可能通过调度消耗掉安塞龙的体力，最后一局再把他拿下。

I remember steen once said that lin dan was lucky in this final against viktor as it was clear that viktor was playing the better of the two and overall controlling the whole match.
he was not lucky.. experience, strategy and stamina can't be equated to just luck. Viktor cracked under pressure making too many mistakes.
