Ok, Momota has been ranked #1 for a while now, and I've been watching him. I noticed that he plays differently depending on who he's against. Sometimes he plays at a high pace and sometimes he's more patient. I think his greatest strength is spot-on strategy for each encounter and patience. He's got very good defense but not on par with Lee Chong Wei, Lin Dan or even Chen Long when they were at their peak, at least not yet. I notice Momoto does a small but non-zero amount of footwork mistakes that force him to rush to the shuttle. He still gets there because he's freaking Kento Momota and he's in incredible physical condition, but I think that's one key difference with for example peak Lee Chong Wei or Lin Dan. Very hard to find an instance of them off their footing, even when they get surprised by a trick shot. It makes me appreciate why they're living legends.
Yeah, watching the world championships this year, I couldn’t help but think that the level right now isn’t quite as high as it was before. But I might just be totally biased. If momota played Lin Dan or Lee Chong Wei back in the day, he probably would have stepped up to the challenge
@@BadmintonwithJeffrey Well he's world #1 for a reason, and certainly the hardest player to win against on the circuit today. But I agree with your sentiment of today's level not being quite as high as a few years ago. But it also means anything can happen.
Romain Gauthier Back in 2011 or 2012 and times before that, we’ve not only got the legends, but also many other great players. Nowadays, momota is the kind, and to be honest there are only Shiyuqi and ginting who can give momota a challenge, and maybe antonsen as well.
Hats off to momota but kidambi also played a very mature game by keeping the shuttle low, cross and simple in the long rallies which is the only key to winning momota. For example-Tokyo exit of momota agains kwang-hee and the rivalry of ginting-momota is only because these players majorly play on drives and keep the shuttle low and do not allow momota the space and freedom to move the shuttle at various positions in court.
srikanth's lazy forehand is being punished my momota. He can take the shuttle a bit earlier and higher which gives opponent less time to react between shots
Stupid? Come on bruh. Why don't you try? I was Highly amazed to see how good he was playing. I bet One day he'll achieve big goals if he keeps up like this. Don't be so judgy
Bwf should take note on this angle viewing. It shows the beauty and intensity of my beloved sport.
YES OMG unlike their shitty angles at their tv
they did in wc 2011 and it was amazing
Wow, this is a fantastic angle to examine KM. Thanks for the upload
It’s not originally my video. BadmintonUniverse has all the credit for shooting the video :)
Its beautiful to watch the game in this manner helps to appreciate the gameplay more
can finally appreciate the sport after 3 years! Thanks Jeffrey for the video! ❤Love from China
Momota is a freaking genius!! And he's got unbelievable stamina

@@hansonyu8440 you forgot TCT. He is quite consistent as well.
I also noticed that his footwork to be less efficient, but his physical abilities more than cover for it. Just looks less graceful
Momo looks super human in the first match, speed wise specially. Nice angle.
The way Kento moves around the court is an art
Rewatching because I miss the old momota
Hey, me too. Momota of this time can still smash. He was faster.
Indeed! I hope he will do a comeback soon.
Now, he's happily retired.
This camera angle lets the viewer see the length variations much better
Kento is an impressive athlete
Kidambi has better foot work but is slow on court. Momota gets into position faster than kidambi. Althougtt both are greats
So hard to fight left handed opponents when your muscle memory is used to sending it back to the backhand side.
Z3R05G yes reason is right .
srikant at its prime❤🔥
❤
that guy in the glowing shirt
That‘s the best was to record a good badminton game.
Please upload the final of kento vs chou, from nice angle, please.🙏
The time when both momota and kidambi were good players

Mmt just retired, miss him old days ❤😢
4:21 beautiful
When u realise if lin dan won the quarter final against srikhant then we would have seen this angle with him and momota
14:55 power smash.......
2:24 3:34 4:04 5:34
srikanth's lazy forehand is being punished my momota. He can take the shuttle a bit earlier and higher which gives opponent less time to react between shots
2020奥运之前的桃田进攻很犀利 但是车祸以后几乎都没有什么像样的进攻了
7:52 3連続バックアウトなんてどうしたんや?😊
Hello. Can I please use this video clip on my video.
I will surely give credit in my description
Where is the score?
Wp srikanth
Super angle🥰🤩
7:33
خیلیخوبن😂❤❤🎉
Kidambi has to improve his net play.
You can't win a game at this level if you hit smash at net more than 2 times.
lol he just had a bad day. He can throw punches with the elite
With such stupid game kidambi will not beat kento momoto.
Stupid? Come on bruh. Why don't you try? I was Highly amazed to see how good he was playing. I bet One day he'll achieve big goals if he keeps up like this. Don't be so judgy
Kidambi was world number 1
@@anmolkukreja5025 he was world number 1 and was in the top 10 a whole host of times.
@@ShivSai123456 i know, thanks. It happened for a short span though, i wish he achieves it again.
He was good as usual himself, but momota not in same level with him.
