    Thank you so much for sharing your's and Atlas life with us! I appreciate how thoroughly you explain his training. I've been following your journey for the last couple of months and you two really are a great team. Also thank you for showing that dogs are animals and have their days just like we do and to have patience for your furry partner.

      Aww, thank you so much for following our journey!! It means a lot to hear that others have followed us and can see progress and stuff! Plus it’s so cool to hear back and catch up with people who may have commented on some of my videos in the past and have commented on something new I posted. Also of course! I want to show the rough side of having a service dog too and show they’re not perfect! I love to help others any way I can and to let everyone know their not alone! I’m so happy you’ve been following our journey🫶🏼✨🐾🦮

    My SD went through a fear period at around 2 years old which apparently can be a thing for some dogs. She became a bit more noise-sensitive and just random things would bother her. It didn't last very long, but maybe Atlas is having the same experience so he's a little nervous about the sound? Just a thought! I love watching his floofy tail, my SD is a lab so she doesn't have quite the same flair as a golden retriever lol

      That’s a good point! It very well could be a fear period, but if it is it’s very specific to bassy sounds. Which he’s made a little bit of progress with it since May/June this year and I’m grateful for! But it’s definitely a process and can be scary to see especially when usually he’s so sound minded and is usually unbothered by most things. Also thank you so much- about his tail! I love his floofy tail so much!! Although I won’t lie that thing can knock things over in a flash. We’ve named it “the feather duster”😂❤️🦮

    Glad you and Atlas are exploring in your new town and getting familiar with local places. That looks like a really beautiful grassy area where he was playing at the beginning of the video. I can definitely relate to the difficulties of trying to work your dog around sensitivity to certain sounds we’re not something you can replicate on your own and I have to kind of just come across randomly whenever you find them in public places. Looks like you definitely did sounds like from the way you described it that you’re following all the right Steps building of confidence with it and making him feel comfortable around with bothering him. I think it’s really important how transparent you’re being with both of the difficulties and joys of service dog training, so many people don’t realize what a complicated and highly involved process it is. They also often don’t realize that as you mentioned even when your dog is fully trained and it was required maintenance and doesn’t mean that something new wouldn’t come up what do you need to work on. Also, belated second happy birthday to atlas and glad you were finally able to find the cinnamon roles.

      Thank you so so much!! I try my best to show the real and sometimes rough side of having a service dog even though sometimes I’m scared of possible backlash.
      He had a good birthday full of all the things he loves! Also it was a struggle to find those cinnamon rolls 😅🫶🏼🦮✨🐾

      @@helperpupatlas7377 The Internet could be a scary place so I understand why you might worry about backlash but I hope that you found supportive and encouraging people here and I for one am so glad that you’ve chosen to be realistic about it and share the difficulties and challenges along with the successes and good parts. I feel like you’re both so important and if you don’t share any of the negative then it only makes people feel more alone when they have difficulties in their service dog training and handling journey.

    My sweet 3 yo SD was doing great (she passed her AKC CGC both basic & urban) & her PA work was fantastic….then we were rear ended in traffic! We weren’t hurt but she freaked out about getting back into the car. We spent 9 mo working w/our vet & trainer w/o success & I had to wash her from SD work!😩 now I’m watching ur vids with a new perspective - training a new SDiT! I hope my new pup follows in Atlas’s paw prints! Thx for sharing ur journey!🐾

      Aww thank you so so much!!! We definitely aren’t perfect, but knowing that our videos is helping you and others is so motivating!
      I’m so sorry to hear that happened with your other SD!! That is truly one of my biggest fears and can definitely cause a pup to wash from service work. That is so devastating that happened to you.. but I am so happy to hear that you were able to get another SD prospect and are beginning training!! It’s always so exciting, but I’m sure it’s also bittersweet for you because of what happened with your previous SD. Atlas and I wish you both the best of luck and I hope to hear more updates about you guys’ journey!!!❤️✨🦮🥹

    Hi! I really like to follow the journing of your service dog in training! Thanks for sharing with us 🥰 Do you have any tips for training with an elevator when the dog is a bit scared to get in?

    • @helperpupatlas7377

      Aww thank you so much for watching and supporting our videos and our journey!! It means more than you know to hear that we are able to help someone through our videos🫶🏼✨
      As far as advice I say start small by just working near the elevator and slowly work your way into the elevator without actually going up or down. Gauge how your pup is doing, don’t go past their threshold and don’t move to the next step until they are comfortably and reliable listening to cues without fear. Take it literally step by step working far away from the elevator, taking a step forward when they seem comfortable and continue until you’re able to step foot in the elevator. Make sure to praise a ton and use high value treats! I’m not a professional, but that is how I tend to approach training challenging or scary things with Atlas. And if your pup is not showing progress or getting worse or even if you feel you aren’t able to work through it with them definitely get a professional trainers help! I hope that helps❤️✨

    I'm having with Trouble with My dog learning intelligent disobedience do you have any tips😢??

    • @helperpupatlas7377
      @helperpupatlas7377  Год назад +3

      I find that sometimes they just need a hint that they should break whatever cue they’re doing to task. Maybe going back to basics with their break cue to reinforce and remind what break means, and practicing your tasks separate from that. Once they’re more solid on those things separately you could have them be in a scenario where their in a down or sit stay and they need to break it to task. Give them a hint and if they’re not getting the hint use your break cue and have them immediately do what task their supposed to. Keep repeating and phase out the break cue after a good while. I’m not a trainer, but consistency and breaking things down for dogs has always helped them learn! Best of luck and I hope all that made sense! 🫶🏼✨🦮
