make sure to get the assassins prayerbook from roundtable hold for the darkness spell, basically it makes enemies unable to 'target lock' you though it is expensive to cast other than that maybe look for status effect spells, rotten breath is stupid good against bosses if you can get a full cast, as scarlet rot does percentage health damage over time i'm doing something vaguely 'anti-paladin' with confessor, dex/faith with a twin blade and black flame spells, its been very fun!
I do know quite a good incantation I got recently called swarm of flies which is very good at dealing bleed damage but it is mid-late game and it is in the mohgwyn palace area which you can access after completing varre’s quest. There is also a talisman called crepus’s vial which can silence footsteps once equipped though I don’t remember what I got it from though it was in volcano manor
you have to land the blade on them. dark souls has an advanced weapon system where you have to land the sweet spot of the weapon to do the most damage. this is why weapons like halberds are harder to use, as you must judge the distance far more than swords. if you hit them with the stick part, it basically does nothing.
we are used to ordinary games where your whole weapon does the same damage as long it touches it. the hitbox on dark souls weapons are only where they actually would do damage in real life. Swords are way easier to handle in the game because you dont have to worry much about it. You can even hold R2 on a horse, and it will damage all the enemies it touches on the way. The hitbox of the scythe is incredible small and needs precise timing and direction
Why do I keep hearing people call them “stone word” keys?? They’re stonesword like a sword made out of stone. They are literally tiny stone swords in the item picture i don’t get it.
@@burnzayy2289 the damage jumps massively as you upgrade it, and the scaling also increases. It's incredibly fast attacking as it is a dual wield first weapon. It's a hell of a lot of fun to use and the power attack on it has a rather high stagger rate.

I'd hold out, respec to use rotten breath on raddan and then respec again into what you want to play. that's only 2 tears.
Really nice faith tips there, it never even occurred to me to just run past those nasty prawns for the canvas talisman. If I may make 1 humble suggestion, when you make videos then pass time till noon and turn on your lantern, it can be a little dark in this game.
Doing a faith, int build, gonna use both the winged scythe and moonveil katana. My poise is 37, my talismans are the raised attributes and the weight talisman. Base strength and dex are at 20 and I’m doing tons of damage. Very fun build
I’d love a vid about the helpful items you can craft for battle. Buffing items, maybe bombs? So many craftables in the game but I’m having too much fun exploring to stop and absorb it.
Now it is pretty much impossible to get the Faithful Canvas Talisman early-mid game. There's these big centipede guys with spears everywhere and if they hit you once they set you up for a chain that just flat out kills you.
Someone needs to do videos covering all the spells based on their respective areas like limgrave, liurna etc so shits not jumping around to areas players might not have reached
Kill the lightning knight with stealth backstabs if you're early game, stab him in the back, get on Torrent and run away, wait until the knight stops looking for you and returns to the route, rinse and repeat
The Night and Fire Sword is great for INT/FAITH hybrids. It's only really the ashes of war moves that are strong though, the sword itself isn't all that IMO. I know a lot of people are complaining about this weapon and saying it needs "nerfed" but IMO this is not the case as it's only the ashes that are strong, and they're not exactly easy to land most of the time. I don't think it will be very useful for PvP (which is the only reason I think anything would ever need nerfed to begin with)
I mean, the sword itself is probably the best basic r1 damage you're going to find if you're running an int/faith hybrid build, since there's not a lot of competition
Trying to build first faith build.. always loved dex pyro on other souls but pyro is all faith this time round.. I plan on high faith for the spells and str/dex for weapon equips.. but later in game I plan to respec into a faith/arcane build, test that dragon sht out lol
I did. Just because I comment helpful before finishing the whole thing doesn't mean it's not helpful. I've been watching arekkz for years now and all the videos are extremely helpful.
Haven't heard a solid number on the amount of deathroot in the game, but I got seven in my current run. Best beast incatation in my opinion is the boulder one. Threw like 20 rocks and the blood god and he died. Pretty funny boss fight.
I had made a burglar, and focused on dex/vit with a scimatar /shield, and bow.... but then realized faith had a lot of awesome stuff.... just not sure how i'd split my stats for it T_T
Thanks as always for the great content. One thing: In Stormville, the lift is not working for me. It’s making the trek to get to the talisman significantly more challenging. Heads up for earlier players that may not be aware. This has taken me a lot of runs, still trying to get the lift to activate to make this easier. Edit: been in here for over an hour and still no solution. Really bummed about this. Any advice would be appreciated.
The lift is a shortcut you have to activate from below by stepping on the pressure plate that activates the lift. From rampart tower, go upwards and get onto the roof, if you explore a bit you will find a safe way to drop down to the level of that lift. I would suggest Google how to unlock the lift in stormveil castle for a walkthrough guide.
How do I slow the vid down? I find it very difficult to follow sped up videos, and they also give me motion sickness. Thanks for the info on that seal though. I am only just starting to level my faith, and I didn't want to have to invest in levelling up the basic seal. Does it take regular or somber stones, please?
you can respec after the 3rd boss. you have at least 10 respecs. if you want advice, int/dex is really strong. you can add some faith later as well if you want to have lots of options. int/dex is really strong in this game though, the moonveil is amazing for mid game. there's a spear that is faith based that does madness damage late game though which I want to use, so I'm doing INT/FAITh with Dex as my 3rd stat (just enough to be able to use my chosen weapons) start with the prisoner and level up the estoc to start with. use the magic weapon buff on it and it's very strong. you still want to pump int more than dex though as it;s the magic buff that really does the damage. also carian slicer is very strong as well. magic pebble is an awesome ranged attack, and you can pick up the AoE version as well. now I'm just using those 2 ranged, the meteor attack and meteor staff. I have slicer on as well just in case I want to use it, but moonveil is really strong so I don't usually need it. Fextra has a great moonveil build though, where they use carian greatsword and a magic bow spell as well. you need to have the right talismans for their version though as you need quicker spells for the great sword and the other two allow you to constantly use the moonveil ashes without running out of FP.

Please tell me about the classes you are all playing as well!
make sure to get the assassins prayerbook from roundtable hold for the darkness spell, basically it makes enemies unable to 'target lock' you though it is expensive to cast
other than that maybe look for status effect spells, rotten breath is stupid good against bosses if you can get a full cast, as scarlet rot does percentage health damage over time
i'm doing something vaguely 'anti-paladin' with confessor, dex/faith with a twin blade and black flame spells, its been very fun!
I like the winged scythe but it misses too many shots somehow and I believe too many enemies just tank through its ash of war
you have to land the blade on them. dark souls has an advanced weapon system where you have to land the sweet spot of the weapon to do the most damage. this is why weapons like halberds are harder to use, as you must judge the distance far more than swords. if you hit them with the stick part, it basically does nothing.
we are used to ordinary games where your whole weapon does the same damage as long it touches it. the hitbox on dark souls weapons are only where they actually would do damage in real life. Swords are way easier to handle in the game because you dont have to worry much about it. You can even hold R2 on a horse, and it will damage all the enemies it touches on the way. The hitbox of the scythe is incredible small and needs precise timing and direction
I remember watching this guy for destiny 1 related things. That was so long ago, and now I find myself here for Elden Ring videos
Why do I keep hearing people call them “stone word” keys?? They’re stonesword like a sword made out of stone. They are literally tiny stone swords in the item picture i don’t get it.
I am disappointed that i had to come this far to see this comment
@@mikaelabird8636 eh that’s just how RUclips comments are. It’s like shouting into a void. A little therapeutic if you let it be.
The claw talisman boosts the jump attack for the Winged Scythe!
Cool will try it out
1:10 “Simply follow the route we are taking on screen”…. Simply…
Its funny that he calls that dog his “turtle” friend. What the eff?
Ashes of war : scared blade really is spooky, that's why it's so good!
Also I think the lord straight sword is better than a average broad sword stat wise so giving the lord straight sword sacred blade is pretty insane
Longsword is probably better if you don't do a lot of Crits though
@@diggles27 well I mean it’s a souls game who wouldn’t do critical hits
There's a full faith scaling weapon in the main hub if you jump over the railing it's in the back room
The round table area?
It’s got high faith scaling but it’s still bad because it has super low base damage. It’s an unblockable weapon though but still basically a gimmick
It’s in the round table if you jump down (where the scythe guy is) and run to the left and it’s in the back room
@@burnzayy2289 it’s nice has a secondary weapon cause of its unblockable attack and not weighing anything
@@burnzayy2289 the damage jumps massively as you upgrade it, and the scaling also increases. It's incredibly fast attacking as it is a dual wield first weapon. It's a hell of a lot of fun to use and the power attack on it has a rather high stagger rate.
INT/FAITH is the boy in this game. I have INT/DEX at the minute, but I'm going to start to pump Faith soon (DEX will just be in order to wield my Moonveil) some of the Faith weapons look amazing, especially that late game madness spear, and the N&F sword.
I would add Blasphemous Blade, just an insane weapon.
thank you simple and easy to folllow actually helpful for those who havent played yet.. well done. i already had the erdsteel dagger and have been debating using it. but i have the fist pita {sp} weighs 0 its nutttttty im level 60 my faith is 32. im using erd tree seal to increase fiath another 7 or so.. at plus 3 im already doing like over 200 dmg with the fist weapon that looks super cool, ive hard there is a sword two thats similiar in style Id love to find it..
aparently im super lucky because i also happened to get the nobles golden straight sword or whattever that is apparently the lowest drop rate item in the game. go me.. like do I just level the heck out of this thing just cuz i have it? i dont mind straight swords. and this one does look super cool, maybe dual weild.. im too indecisive for these maxive games ive played around 100 hours and have made like 5 characters.. i messed up my mage dex chr by accidently killing salenia or whateve rwhen shes in taht dungeon... that chr was my first chr and i spend like 20 hours in the steam roller dungeon when the game first came out becuse well i thought thats where i was supposed to go hahahah. i dont regret it one bit.. i figured out shortcuts and all the tips i left there are comendated to cap... yay go me for being creative... tanget but have the hard to get bow from that spot... this game is so amazing man.. i swear... MAKE CO OP BUILT IN PLEASE is my only request.
Cipher phata is so fun
I would love a video like this for beast incantations and items because I think I'm going to try those next.
It's taking all my willpower to not start a new run after 30 hours. I just wanna make a new build so bad.
you can respec multiple times, so you can make what you want, with your main char
@@caalvinnachnahme9913 oh shit really? Thanks man! That saves me a whole lot of time.
@@franciscomartinez982 3rd main boss if I remember correctly. Don't get discouraged if ur stats arent great yet speccing a bit in health will deff help you early.
@@caalvinnachnahme9913 I thought it’s only 10 larval tears. Unless you Ng+ everytime
@@LittleKiller1476psn that's still 10 respecs though, which is ore than enough IMO. the only respec I would suggest doing is to be able to cast rotten breath on Radahn, and then even the faith/arcane investment isn't huge, so you can just grind the levels if you want.
say you don't like your first build and you want to respec anyway.
Jeez bro what level are you 😂
If your doing faith and int definitely find the sword of fire and night or whatever its called
@@lchigoKurosaki im sayin hahaha
Use the cliff glitch while u can nerd
There's only one thing that this build can actually optimize for and it's the sword of night and fire, look into the hybrid sorc/incants as well
I’d love a vid about the helpful items you can craft for battle. Buffing items, maybe bombs? So many craftables in the game but I’m having too much fun exploring to stop and absorb it.
Faith weapons/incantations are friggin awesome in this game.
I just redid a char 24 faith and int for the night snd flame sword(its+5 right now) and its beastly. It should get me through
Now it is pretty much impossible to get the Faithful Canvas Talisman early-mid game. There's these big centipede guys with spears everywhere and if they hit you once they set you up for a chain that just flat out kills you.
Once you think you getting it turns out to be a staff…
I need to get that talisman so I can boost my already powerful incantations! Thanks for the tips!
Someone needs to do videos covering all the spells based on their respective areas like limgrave, liurna etc so shits not jumping around to areas players might not have reached
Oh, in the celliad cave, if you go left instead of right that's the way to the grace sign. I use that place as an early game farm spot (:
I've been loving the beastmark seal for my character, doing strength + faith and really liking the beast incantations ontop of if
where is this? only just starting to levfel faith on my character, so I don't know where any of the things are for it.
@@D00M3R_MAVS get a deathroot then talk to D about it
@@ConvoBreaker I did that, D is dead now though. I have his armour. The gloves and boots are part of my current fashion.
Kill the lightning knight with stealth backstabs if you're early game, stab him in the back, get on Torrent and run away, wait until the knight stops looking for you and returns to the route, rinse and repeat
You could also play it safe while using Wing Sycthe wpn. He was annoying to beat with my Cipher wpn, thankfully I grab this and got the loot.
@@sarasattler5269 ah ok. I just heard it was only good for the special moves.
i called out of work sick yesterday so i could play elden ring all day lol
My first fromsoft game so my build is screwed... managed a few dex/faith items at least, Treespear goated on horseback
you can respec later. also I wouldn't worry too much as you can just grind for runes and level up whatever you want.
@@D00M3R_MAVS No amount of leveling will fix these amounts of bad 😔
Just an added mention, if you kill Kenneth after getting the dagger, he drops a golden seed
Well should I kill him or does this give me any disadvantages later on
@Sabizos okay thanks man
To note- if the servant is there to give you the dagger at the fort- head back to 3rd Church and back to where you got the quest- he was there for me.
Thanks your videos have been so so helpful so far with elden ring.
Thanks for the vid really helped as a returning player!
I’ve reset my build a stupid amount of times but I’m happy lol
Loved the vid man, very educational
hell yeah, im level 40 with my Finn build but this is gonna help a lot with my Ice King Build
"Simply just follow this route which I am showing at light speed.. "
If you have troubles with the knight you can allways chees it by backstabing it then running out of combat and repeat.
Nice information! Could u do an armor guide for faith builds? The basic armor stinks.
Winged Scythe is in Weeping Peninsula, not Limgrave! Simple mistake, great video! Thanks for the tips!
Trying to build first faith build.. always loved dex pyro on other souls but pyro is all faith this time round.. I plan on high faith for the spells and str/dex for weapon equips.. but later in game I plan to respec into a faith/arcane build, test that dragon sht out lol
I went to the Dragon-Burnt Ruins underlevel for the talisman and i am now stuck in the cave not knowing what to do and cannot kill any of the NPCs
Great content, good job brotha.
Thank you, so helpful
U didn’t even watch the video
I did. Just because I comment helpful before finishing the whole thing doesn't mean it's not helpful. I've been watching arekkz for years now and all the videos are extremely helpful.
I'm making a beast incantation faith/str build. looking forward to finding more weapons to make the build
Haven't heard a solid number on the amount of deathroot in the game, but I got seven in my current run. Best beast incatation in my opinion is the boulder one. Threw like 20 rocks and the blood god and he died. Pretty funny boss fight.
Boulders absolutely broken and the combo aspect of that incantation is great too.
2:15 subtitles
CHURCH OF AMERICA FUCK YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
Halo scythe. From cleanrot knights in Aeonia inner swamp.
3:14 hahaha poor blade why is it scared?
We call him the Turle Pope!
I had made a burglar, and focused on dex/vit with a scimatar /shield, and bow.... but then realized faith had a lot of awesome stuff.... just not sure how i'd split my stats for it T_T
Where did you get the cape/armor from in the beginning of the video?
Lightning bolt, lightning bolt, LIGHTNING BOLT!!!! WOOOOOOOO
Thanks for the vid! Elden Ring is the best game I’ve ever played! Who’s with me?
Awesome video! 👍👍
I’m trying to build a faith based greatsword that I can dual wield with a second colossal sword.
You get this more later in the game but Blasphemous Blade
I’d only consider the Scythe to be good, and lightning spear to be decent. I want OP vlcrap
Golden Vow might be a better ashes of war for a faith build.
You cant use godslayer seal you need 27 faith save your keys
Why use the faith scaling dagger erdsteel when you can get the give miscordia a golden vow ash of war and start plunging deep into there back
can you make a video all dungeon and tunnel location in altus plateau?
What armor are you using and I'm assuming you started off with confesser?
Thanks as always for the great content. One thing:
In Stormville, the lift is not working for me.
You gotta active from the bottom first.
Dude I hate it when my blade gets scared.
How do I slow the vid down? I find it very difficult to follow sped up videos, and they also give me motion sickness.
Thanks for the info on that seal though. I am only just starting to level my faith, and I didn't want to have to invest in levelling up the basic seal. Does it take regular or somber stones, please?
Imo Cipher Pata is way better than Erdsteel Dagger.
Sword of flame and night?
What armor are you wearing in the video?
Not the scared blade xD
I grabbed the talisman but it’s not in my inventory. I ran back and it’s not on the body
I can’t decide what to go, I’ve restarted the game 3 times now every time I get to like lvl 45-50ish
you can respec after the 3rd boss. you have at least 10 respecs.
if you want advice, int/dex is really strong. you can add some faith later as well if you want to have lots of options. int/dex is really strong in this game though, the moonveil is amazing for mid game. there's a spear that is faith based that does madness damage late game though which I want to use, so I'm doing INT/FAITh with Dex as my 3rd stat (just enough to be able to use my chosen weapons)
start with the prisoner and level up the estoc to start with. use the magic weapon buff on it and it's very strong. you still want to pump int more than dex though as it;s the magic buff that really does the damage. also carian slicer is very strong as well. magic pebble is an awesome ranged attack, and you can pick up the AoE version as well.
now I'm just using those 2 ranged, the meteor attack and meteor staff.
@@D00M3R_MAVS Holy shit, that was comprehensive. Thanks a lot
