Something many people don't realize, and this will boost your damage in a major way. Put your best incantation scaling seal in your right hand (Erdtree seal if pure faith, Dragon Communion if arcane/faith arcane). Put your class of incantation spell boosting seal in your left hand (i.e. Giant's Seal for giant flame incantations, Gravel Stone Seal for Dragon lightning incantations, etc.) Then cast your spells with your right hand. Just having the class of incantation boosting seal in your left hand will give you a 20% increase in damage for the respective class of incantations
This. I love using no weapons. I dual 2 seals and go heavy on fp flask with the fp regeneration talisman for kills. It's so much fun not having to use a weapon 😂 Edit: Plus it gives you the benefit of weighing less so you can get better resistances on your armor choices.
I don't quite follow, I tried this but the damage isn't changed. I have +16 goldslayer seal on left and +0 erdtree on right, should I enhance the erdtree seal?
@@arthoormoorgen9492 Yes you want to +10 (somber stones +10, smithing stones go +25) whatever you are using to cast the actual incantations with, which in your case should be the Erdtree seal (or just whatever in your inventory that has the best incantation scaling currently, though at +10 this will eventually be either Erdtree or Dragon Communion) . Let’s look at an example from a PS5 controller point of view and some made up damage numbers: Let’s say you have the lightning spear incantation equipped and ready. Left hand you have nothing equipped. Right hand you have the Erdtree +10 seal equipped. Right hand means you tap R1 (holding will charge up and do more damage, but for this example we just press R1 and immediately let go) to use your lightning spear incantation. It hits for 1000 damage. Now equip the Gravel Stone Seal in the left hand (upgrade level doesn’t matter as you will not press L1 to cast the incantation). The gravel stone seal boosts dragon cult incantations damage by 20%, which are lightning incantations (not to be confused with dragon breath magic from the dragon altars, that would be the Dragon Communion seal for boosting those). So now we press R1 to cast the same lightning spear incantation with our right hand equipped Erdtree +10 Seal. That same lightning incantation, just by having a Gravel Stone Seal equipped and ready in the left hand even though we are casting with our right hand, will now hit for a hypothetical 1200 damage Another side note if you want to test yourself and not take this post at face value. Make sure you test with enemies in the same state for both tests. I.e. first test if you hit with an enemy unaware of your presence (as the first hit with an unaware enemy has a damage bonus), then for the second test, rest at bonfire and then hit that same unaware enemy
@@darqdar I understand now, it works! But is it worth it to upgrade the Erdtree seal for midgame player? I enhance it to +5 and only could go as far as +7. My +17 Godslayer (not +16 apparently) deals around 900ish dmg of Lightning Spear, while with +5 Erdtree I'm dealing 800ish, raw dmg without Gravel seal on left hand.
@@arthoormoorgen9492 I’m not sure what level the scaling of the Erdtree overtakes the Godslayer, but it’s always worth upgrading the Erdtree Seal as high as you can as it is the best in the end (unless you are planning to do an 80 faith, 80 arcane build for the Dragon Communion seal, in that case, max out the Dragon Communion seal) My equip for the seals is Erdtree right hand and then I have the Giants, Gravel, and Frenzy Seal in the left hand and I just cycle by pressing the left d-pad depending on the spell I’m casting to get the damage boost. I don’t use Godslayer in the left hand as IMO, Black Flame is made redundant once you get the Giantflame Take Thee spell. It hits harder, has AOE and can knockdown cheese smaller sized bosses that aren’t immune to knockdown. The only issue is range which with a little practice is overcome through manual targeting rather than lock-on targeting
Absolutely agree that lightning spear is the best lightning incantation. Nothing makes you feel like Gwynn like fighting a dragon hucking lightning while dipping in and out on foot or on Torrent.
@@bitharne Theres a seal that increases the damage of all lightning spells, called the gravel stone seal. Its pretty much a must have for lightning spear builds. I also recommend the talisman that increases the potency of all incantations
Black flame is so good against the last bosses of the game because black flame is literally god/demi gods weakness. you get a huge buff when using godslayer enchantments against gods and demi gods.
i still doing that wing scythe build in the middle game, but i do love how you put the location spolier information message in the start of thee video, just professional.
you forgot to mention that most Lighting spell when you use then close range do over double or even more damage, the closer you are the best the damage is. And rain or water can even boost more the damage.
I'm enjoying how many incantations and spells have melee explosion components (aka rewards for melee casting). Makes a spellblade/miracleblade feel SO much better. Reminds me of Lightning Stake from DS3 which was insanely good despite DS3 not being great for offensive miracles by and large.
FYI you mention how black flame deals a lot of damage to even late game bosses, that it because it's damage is % based so it scales throughout the game
Absolutely love this format! Showing the spells and their strengths, and then putting the locations in the end so if anyone wants to avoid can do so easily. And there are even timestamps! Not only was the content good, but the format was spot on as well.
black blade is amazing, has hyperarmor so can trade, reduces enemies hp, works when your holy fire and lightning damage doesn't, really just rounds out the kit

It's worth noting that AoE healing spells do MASSIVE damage against undead enemies (including any giant enemies with a bunch of arms sticking out everywhere)
I knew I was onto something when I wanted a Dex/Faith build: Main Weapon: Winged Scythe to scale with Dex and Faith (+bleed) Optional: Blasphemous Blade for health regen, so more FP flasks Offhand: Gravel Stone Seal to boost that damage on Fortissax's Lighting Spear. I don't want take any chances Black Blade to get in those good damage during openings Stone of Gurrano to stagger from afar Fortissax's Lighting Spear to absolutely demolish that health bar Throw on Beast Claw + Scouring Black Flame for trash mobs Add on some Placidusax's Ruin for shits and giggles
Lmao bruh you really wrote my build and I’ve never played dark souls before. Went in blind and made a build around other games. I got the grace scythe instead(for looks). Also try out dual whips with bloodhound step. Nothing crazy but a nice different weapon you don’t see to often.
@@ScrodumHat The Bolt of Gransax is more of a quality weapon than spellsword. It scales only with str and dex. While, I do have a couple of points in dex, my build is mainly faith focused

u can actually somewhat aim that first dragon-beam lazer incantation if you dont lock on to the enemy. you turn your character to the sides as the dragon head moves.

Regular Rot Breath is somewhat superior to Ezykes version. It has lower DMG, but it's a lot more consistent with it's hitboxes and uses less FP. If anyone is considering any Dragon spell, Regular Rot Breath is better imo.
No shit, I went up against the godskin apostle at caelid divine tower at level 89(any attack he hit me with that wasn’t the fireball would insta-kill me), hit him with rotten breath a grand total of twice, and just ran and dodged over the course of the battle while his health whittled itself down to nothing. Rotten breath is absurd.
I believe any spell that is even vaguely related to fire in some way shape or form is buffed by Flame Grant Me Strength. Normal flame, giantsflame, black flame, frenzied flame, bloodflame. It’s probably safe to assume that dragon flame breath is also buffed by it.
OMG, I'm 110 right now as a sorcerer. The faith spells look so amazing. Perhaps it's because of a "grass is always greeener" perspective, although I am curious to respec a little a later and test these bad boys out. 🙂
No you’re right. I’m lvl 90 faith build, 60 faith w/ a few of these spells and the Godslayer sword, but my brother did an Int build and has all these badass spells that makes me wanna do sorcerer next. And my other brother is strength, carrying colossal weapons, looking like Guts. We’re all pretty formidable by this point, but they’re saying the same thing about my faith build.
I've tried both and it's definitely as you say. The grass always does deem greener on the otherside. Faith incantations are usually cooler than the spells in my opinion but after a while i went back to int magic.
I mean you lose all your range and a majority of your damage since faith is more of a hybrid spec than a full spec in ER to be fully honest. I don't even know why this YT said the RLightning spells were good since pretty much all of them are terrible and should almost never be used due to cast time vs damage output. I'm 7-9 builds in and I've ran primarily 2H strength builds, like 2-3 int builds and 2 faith builds (Ints were made to experiment for things like moonveil, SoN&F, Faith was primarily Blasphemous Blade primary with 60+ faith with incants as a backup / 2ndary, they just don't hit that hard for what you put into them to be honest. I would agree with the video that prob LS is the best because of its CT, but in all honesty coming from somebody thats in the higher 100s, I would say it depends on the playstyle. Sorcery is definitely more potent, but Faith has way more utility and other tools / options.
Dude idk, late game as a sorcerer really fell off. The hard hitting spells left me too open so I switched to a high arc, decent faith(to use certain incants) build + bleed. I'm not a good player so it's how I enjoy the game 😎
If you guys are going melee for most of time in your faith builds, bloodhound fang plus bloodflame blade is ridiculous; you will bleed anything in two to three hits plus the fire damage and the fact that this curved sword hits like a truck. It has carried me from mid to endgame.
Did you have to keep pumping points into str and dex to keep it viable throughout the game? It's the only reason I've stopped using it cuz I don't want to have to keep pointing points into both AND faith in order to keep bloodhounds fang viable. I just want to do faith and then either str or dex, not both tho
I wish they add the talisman poise buff in dark souls 3. That was one of the coolest thing about casting miracle, tanking heavy hits from enemy and return to them the sweet sweet sunlight spear.

I would actually consider Unendurable Frenzy better than Frenzy Flame. It goes on far longer causing you to do more damage, allows you to move around while shooting the beams, and has a explosion animation at the end to deal more damage.
Not even endgame my dude, im only have three main bosses kiled and can one tap anything thanks to a couple youtube videos lol. They did such a great job if youre willing to put the time in
Placidusax's ruin is part of the dragon cult (lightning) school, it's the one dragon head spell that isn't communion since it doesn't scale with arcane and you don't eat dragon hearts to get it. You also forgot death lightning for the dragon cult part, it's a shorter range ancient dragon lightning but hits way stronger and can apply deathblight. Been using these two on a themed dragon paladin build alongside the cragblade and it's so much fun, people keep bitching that incantations got done dirty in this game but i wholeheartedly disagree. Also for as good as scarlet rot is right now it's 100% gonna be nerfed alongside bleed.

Totally agree with your power rankings. I use the gravel sacred seal with Lightning spear and rotten breath, this never fails to easily take down bosses
If anyone is having trouble applying rot breath. Hold the button down and your character will cast it twice in a row (maybe more but I run out of FP). You can quickly apply rot to pretty much any boss without taking a hit. Also, most enemies don't register lightning spear as a projectile attack and won't dodge it. So if you have an enemy that keeps avoiding your fireballs, try lightning.
In the final fight my mimic tear kept using Erdtree Heal and I swear I was talking to that boy like he was real lmao. "Come on man we got this we're SO CLOSE YOU GOT THIS." At that point, mimic tear was not a cheese tool. Mimic tear was my partner in battle lmao
Scarlett rots duration should be based on their negation. It takes longer to fill for certain enemies, it will last longer on those enemies just like it affects you

@@feedmyaddiction2078 more of a hybrid build and currently testing different melee weapons for right hand. Dark moonblade, night and flame, cipher pata and the wing of astel are my melee options im testing.

The Flame of Frenzy is OP on big bosses and the aim tracking is insane. Go under the head of any dragon, wait for them to whiff a attack, then a 1 or 2 of these should knock them down.

for me the frenzy flame incants group are the best. Frenzied burst is my fave cuz of the range. Not surprised to see what the best incantation was lol. Ive used it in PvP and its a 100% win once you get it off lol.
I will say that I love using frozen lightning spear. While it is inconsistent with hitting smaller enemies. I've seen it do up to 4k with one cast on mobs/bosses with bigger hitboxes
I have blasphemous blade +10 and Ordovis blade +10 and they're so OP. Blasphemous blade has carried me through the whole game. It scales so well with faith and strength. I just got to Farum Azula and now I'm using all the Dragon incantations and Ekzyzkes rot. Rot is so good in this game, it's the best out of the dragon spells imo. I was so hyped for the beast claw but it's not as op as it was in the network test but it's still good at staggering. Using the blasphemous blade with high poise can be super deadly if you use the weapon art. Faith is so strong in this game its crazy.
@@thatoneguy1741 you need an ancient dragon somber smithing stone for +10 on special weapons. So far I only know of 2. You get one right before Mohgs boss fight in a chest surrounded by enemies and you get the other by killing a dragon in Crumbling Farum Azula. Somber Smithing stones can sometimes be tricky to find but if you wanna find specific ones I recommend you watch Ragegamingvideos as they have guides on how get tier 5, 6, 7 and even 8. Hope that helps
Theres more somber stones in the area where you fight Malenia. I think I got two there along with a shit ton of runes. Plus you can get the final somber stone bell there so you can purchase 8 and 9 stones. To get there you have to use the secret medallion at the elevator to the giant lands. One piece you get from a dude hiding as a pot in the southwest area of Liurnia. The other you from the castle in the northwest part of the Giants lands. It allows access to a hidden part of the giant lands once you have both pieces of the medallion. This is also where another deathroot is located, but you have to jump onto an invisible floor to get to it. Once you go up the secret lift head north until you reach this village. There's a spot that you can activate and you need to go turn on all the lanterns in the area(in these towers for the most part). Once all four are lit you can take a teleporter to where Melania is located. Just fight your way through a boss and a bunch of tanky enemies and you will eventually reach her deep down at the roots of an erdtree.
Have you tried comparing Ordovis blade with Gargoyle black blade? I have more fth than str so not sure if BB will be better. What are the scale ratings for Ordovis at +10? Thnx
You forgot one my guy. Scarlet Aeonia. A scarlet rot incantation, you can pretty much fly towards enemies turning into a flower that blooms with major damage, meanwhile anything touching the flower or caught in the explosion gets scarlet rot build up
its worse then rotten breath, one if you get touched you fall and stagger, two its damage is not nearly as consistent, and 3 its harder on the fp cost. it is not a good spell
Just beat the game today thanks to your video on that blasphemous sword: switched from a quality build to faith using that thing and the game got way easier! I am late to the faith ways though so I need to pick some of these up!

Im level 207 now, got all achievements except for the alternernate ending and one weapon I dont have access to unless I play again. Im collecting and upgrading everything I can before NG*. Good thing I found out you lose your bell bearings before resetting. These incantations look awesome, theres a few I still dont have!

Rot breath is imo the strongest incantation in the game. When boosted correctly is melts everything and my rot ticks for 100ish which is absolute madness. Throw in a mimic tear to duplicate you and its gg.
i like the rock toss for beastial spell.....low fp, fast, good range, and good damage, yeah rot dragon is easily one of the best, or i like that placid ruin.....those 2 are my fav
I agree lightning spear is one of the best incantations. I really was hoping there would be more powerful versions of it like in dark souls, but it is one of the most useful quick incantations to shoot off. If they added the lightning spear radagon does that explodes in dlc or something that would be awesome.
I agree lightning spear is best lightning incantation, you can kite a lot of these bosses while riding torrent, just get a bit faraway from then and spam lightning spear
Just enough to use the weapon you want. You get the vast majority of your damage off faith scale. For both weapons and incantations. There isn't a seal that covers them all that I know of.
@@masonpope9015 erdtree seal covers them all. It doesn't have any bonuses to certain types, but it has three damage types while all the others have two. It gets physical, the normal incantation scaling and holy damage. It only scales off of faith though, but it was still increasing my damage considerably up until I hit 80 faith.
I was power stancing a holy greatsword and a fire greatsword. I used Golden Vow and Flame, Grant Me Strength at the same time and I was doing 5k plus to the head on the Rite Deathbird. It was honestly insane.

Oh should also add Stone of Gurranq to the list. I beat Margot first try and radann fourth try just throwing boulders at em. It also does heavy posture dmg and can down bosses and stun lock enemies and aoe kills if close while only costing 15 FP and 13 faith. Also using the golden order seal +9 with A Rank Int/Faith scaling which is around 295 incant at 30 int and 49 faith

@@lunariangoddess1206 if your respecing, do you plan on switching to the erdtree seal? it has s faith scaling and does holy damage. I have been wondering about this, but I think the golden order seal is probably the best seal in the game. Though, only when you have the levels to invest into both stats.

@@IceNinja18 oki got the erdtree seal and it looks like if ya go straight faith it is stronger. At 70 faith and a +8 erdtree it’s 319 scaling where golden order +9 with my 30 Int and 48 faith was 311. However I think both are best depending. If ya want to use weps like the katanas or night and flame sword or have some options regarding Int gear then go golden order. Side note: I believe if ya doing a strength/faith build then godslayer seal would be like golden order in terms of best since scales on both
With fireball incantations I am them myself to increase their range. Not sure if many people know you can undo the auto lock and aim higher they will be thrown farther, the range is significantly farther on fireball incantations than you think if you just take it into your own hands.
So far it seems intelligence and incantation builds are the most powerful. I'm running a glass cannon mage at the moment at level 93. But seeing these different builds is super interesting. Amazing stuff!
@@prodbyyungtrav The game clearly wants you to do hybrid builds, that's why most items scale with multiple attributes. Some people don't want to adapt and they have trash builds because of it. Pure faith/Int is trash in pvp.
I’m doing scarlet rot x frenzy flame build. Power Stancing Rot Rapiers, Dragon Communion Seal, Scarlet Aeonia, Ekzykes Decay, Black Blade, Frenzy Flame, Frenzy Burst, Golden Vow, Flame Give me Strength. Lot of fun to use. Might incorporate some bleed spells in there because bleed and rot are crazy together
Worth noting is that I think the dragon communion incantations scale with arcane not faith, so the spells like rot breath and draglords ruin are scaling off arcane. The talisman for dragon communion incantations has S scaling in arcane and either D or C faith scaling so just a heads up.
the spells scale off what ever your catalyst scales with they just have arcane requirments if you are not using the seal that scales off arcane no spells will scale of arcane
What people said above. If you're focusing on arcane though, you'd be using the dragon communion one anyways. But the good thing is, while the passive effect damage increase won't affect other spells, you'll be able to scale stuff that isn't dragon breaths with arcane too. My build has 12 slots and i literally am having trouble deciding what to put in
@@rightousnesspursuer6523 agreed, took me a while to realize that just because I got a new incantation doesn't mean it's better than the one I got towards the start of the game. What determines if a spell is good is a lot of factors(cast time, range, accuracy, etc) and preference, but if you want to do damage then you need to upgrade your seal.
Hey Moxsy, don't know if you have it yet, but when you finish Alexander the Iron Fist questline you get a talisman that greatly increases the skill damage.
Best incarnation is discus of light it travels far and the lowest fp consumption. U can get up to 2000 damage in seconds with the speed u can send 3 to 4 disc at a right angle could mean hiring 6 to 8 times
I would be curious to see the beast incantations with the Clawmark Seal + Cinquedea Dagger (read it's descriptions "Raises potency of bestial incantations"). They both raise the potency of bestial incantations. But same with all the other incantations you've shown. There is a seal for every type of incantation, and there is a very strong one for Frenzied Flame incantations for doing Hyetta's questline (the grape lady trying to become a finger maiden). I think the damage would be more insane by using all the appropriate items to buff each incantation type

Another side note if you want to test yourself and not take this post at face value. Make sure you test with enemies in the same state for both tests. I.e. first test if you hit with an enemy unaware of your presence (as the first hit with an unaware enemy has a damage bonus), then for the second test, rest at bonfire and then hit that same unaware enemy
@@darqdar I understand now, it works! But is it worth it to upgrade the Erdtree seal for midgame player? I enhance it to +5 and only could go as far as +7. My +17 Godslayer (not +16 apparently) deals around 900ish dmg of Lightning Spear, while with +5 Erdtree I'm dealing 800ish, raw dmg without Gravel seal on left hand.
@@arthoormoorgen9492 I’m not sure what level the scaling of the Erdtree overtakes the Godslayer, but it’s always worth upgrading the Erdtree Seal as high as you can as it is the best in the end (unless you are planning to do an 80 faith, 80 arcane build for the Dragon Communion seal, in that case, max out the Dragon Communion seal)
My equip for the seals is Erdtree right hand and then I have the Giants, Gravel, and Frenzy Seal in the left hand and I just cycle by pressing the left d-pad depending on the spell I’m casting to get the damage boost. I don’t use Godslayer in the left hand as IMO, Black Flame is made redundant once you get the Giantflame Take Thee spell. It hits harder, has AOE and can knockdown cheese smaller sized bosses that aren’t immune to knockdown. The only issue is range which with a little practice is overcome through manual targeting rather than lock-on targeting
Absolutely agree that lightning spear is the best lightning incantation. Nothing makes you feel like Gwynn like fighting a dragon hucking lightning while dipping in and out on foot or on Torrent.

@@bitharne Theres a seal that increases the damage of all lightning spells, called the gravel stone seal. Its pretty much a must have for lightning spear builds. I also recommend the talisman that increases the potency of all incantations

Black flame is so good against the last bosses of the game because black flame is literally god/demi gods weakness. you get a huge buff when using godslayer enchantments against gods and demi gods.
also their DOT does percentage of total health making it good against super high health enemies
or, become a samurai god. and dual wield Katanas and just wreck them. that's how i've beat the whole game. dodge, then slash. EZ.

you forgot to mention that most Lighting spell when you use then close range do over double or even more damage, the closer you are the best the damage is. And rain or water can even boost more the damage.
I'm enjoying how many incantations and spells have melee explosion components (aka rewards for melee casting). Makes a spellblade/miracleblade feel SO much better.
Reminds me of Lightning Stake from DS3 which was insanely good despite DS3 not being great for offensive miracles by and large.

black blade is amazing, has hyperarmor so can trade, reduces enemies hp, works when your holy fire and lightning damage doesn't, really just rounds out the kit

Main Weapon: Winged Scythe to scale with Dex and Faith (+bleed)
Optional: Blasphemous Blade for health regen, so more FP flasks
Offhand: Gravel Stone Seal to boost that damage on Fortissax's Lighting Spear. I don't want take any chances
Black Blade to get in those good damage during openings
Stone of Gurrano to stagger from afar
Fortissax's Lighting Spear to absolutely demolish that health bar
Throw on Beast Claw + Scouring Black Flame for trash mobs
Add on some Placidusax's Ruin for shits and giggles

Lmao bruh you really wrote my build and I’ve never played dark souls before. Went in blind and made a build around other games. I got the grace scythe instead(for looks).
Also try out dual whips with bloodhound step. Nothing crazy but a nice different weapon you don’t see to often.
once you get to leyndell, the bolt of granssax is also a good alternative as a main weapon
@@ScrodumHat The Bolt of Gransax is more of a quality weapon than spellsword. It scales only with str and dex. While, I do have a couple of points in dex, my build is mainly faith focused

u can actually somewhat aim that first dragon-beam lazer incantation if you dont lock on to the enemy. you turn your character to the sides as the dragon head moves.

Regular Rot Breath is somewhat superior to Ezykes version. It has lower DMG, but it's a lot more consistent with it's hitboxes and uses less FP. If anyone is considering any Dragon spell, Regular Rot Breath is better imo.
No shit, I went up against the godskin apostle at caelid divine tower at level 89(any attack he hit me with that wasn’t the fireball would insta-kill me), hit him with rotten breath a grand total of twice, and just ran and dodged over the course of the battle while his health whittled itself down to nothing.

I believe any spell that is even vaguely related to fire in some way shape or form is buffed by Flame Grant Me Strength. Normal flame, giantsflame, black flame, frenzied flame, bloodflame. It’s probably safe to assume that dragon flame breath is also buffed by it.
Pretty sure al the blood incants are also fire based

OMG, I'm 110 right now as a sorcerer. The faith spells look so amazing. Perhaps it's because of a "grass is always greeener" perspective, although I am curious to respec a little a later and test these bad boys out. 🙂
No you’re right. I’m lvl 90 faith build, 60 faith w/ a few of these spells and the Godslayer sword, but my brother did an Int build and has all these badass spells that makes me wanna do sorcerer next. And my other brother is strength, carrying colossal weapons, looking like Guts. We’re all pretty formidable by this point, but they’re saying the same thing about my faith build.
I've tried both and it's definitely as you say. The grass always does deem greener on the otherside. Faith incantations are usually cooler than the spells in my opinion but after a while i went back to int magic.
I mean you lose all your range and a majority of your damage since faith is more of a hybrid spec than a full spec in ER to be fully honest. I don't even know why this YT said the RLightning spells were good since pretty much all of them are terrible and should almost never be used due to cast time vs damage output. I'm 7-9 builds in and I've ran primarily 2H strength builds, like 2-3 int builds and 2 faith builds (Ints were made to experiment for things like moonveil, SoN&F, Faith was primarily Blasphemous Blade primary with 60+ faith with incants as a backup / 2ndary, they just don't hit that hard for what you put into them to be honest. I would agree with the video that prob LS is the best because of its CT, but in all honesty coming from somebody thats in the higher 100s, I would say it depends on the playstyle. Sorcery is definitely more potent, but Faith has way more utility and other tools / options.
Definitely the grass is always greener. Made a second char after finishing the game with a faith build bc the sorceries looked really fun 😭
Dude idk, late game as a sorcerer really fell off. The hard hitting spells left me too open so I switched to a high arc, decent faith(to use certain incants) build + bleed. I'm not a good player so it's how I enjoy the game 😎
If you guys are going melee for most of time in your faith builds, bloodhound fang plus bloodflame blade is ridiculous; you will bleed anything in two to three hits plus the fire damage and the fact that this curved sword hits like a truck. It has carried me from mid to endgame.

I wish they add the talisman poise buff in dark souls 3. That was one of the coolest thing about casting miracle, tanking heavy hits from enemy and return to them the sweet sweet sunlight spear.

I would actually consider Unendurable Frenzy better than Frenzy Flame. It goes on far longer causing you to do more damage, allows you to move around while shooting the beams, and has a explosion animation at the end to deal more damage.
The game definitely took the darksouls 2 approach to magic. Makes loads of absolutely OP spells for end game

Not even endgame my dude, im only have three main bosses kiled and can one tap anything thanks to a couple youtube videos lol. They did such a great job if youre willing to put the time in
Placidusax's ruin is part of the dragon cult (lightning) school, it's the one dragon head spell that isn't communion since it doesn't scale with arcane and you don't eat dragon hearts to get it.
You also forgot death lightning for the dragon cult part, it's a shorter range ancient dragon lightning but hits way stronger and can apply deathblight.
Been using these two on a themed dragon paladin build alongside the cragblade and it's so much fun, people keep bitching that incantations got done dirty in this game but i wholeheartedly disagree.
Also for as good as scarlet rot is right now it's 100% gonna be nerfed alongside bleed.

If anyone is having trouble applying rot breath. Hold the button down and your character will cast it twice in a row (maybe more but I run out of FP). You can quickly apply rot to pretty much any boss without taking a hit.
Also, most enemies don't register lightning spear as a projectile attack and won't dodge it. So if you have an enemy that keeps avoiding your fireballs, try lightning.

Use dragon seal and your incantations will scale with faith and arcane together.
In the final fight my mimic tear kept using Erdtree Heal and I swear I was talking to that boy like he was real lmao. "Come on man we got this we're SO CLOSE YOU GOT THIS."
At that point, mimic tear was not a cheese tool. Mimic tear was my partner in battle lmao
Scarlett rots duration should be based on their negation. It takes longer to fill for certain enemies, it will last longer on those enemies just like it affects you

The Flame of Frenzy is OP on big bosses and the aim tracking is insane. Go under the head of any dragon, wait for them to whiff a attack, then a 1 or 2 of these should knock them down.

I will say that I love using frozen lightning spear. While it is inconsistent with hitting smaller enemies. I've seen it do up to 4k with one cast on mobs/bosses with bigger hitboxes

I have blasphemous blade +10 and Ordovis blade +10 and they're so OP. Blasphemous blade has carried me through the whole game. It scales so well with faith and strength. I just got to Farum Azula and now I'm using all the Dragon incantations and Ekzyzkes rot. Rot is so good in this game, it's the best out of the dragon spells imo. I was so hyped for the beast claw but it's not as op as it was in the network test but it's still good at staggering. Using the blasphemous blade with high poise can be super deadly if you use the weapon art. Faith is so strong in this game its crazy.
How do you find enough stones to upgrade them? I’ve only Magee foully upgrade one special weapon so far
@@thatoneguy1741 you need an ancient dragon somber smithing stone for +10 on special weapons. So far I only know of 2. You get one right before Mohgs boss fight in a chest surrounded by enemies and you get the other by killing a dragon in Crumbling Farum Azula. Somber Smithing stones can sometimes be tricky to find but if you wanna find specific ones I recommend you watch Ragegamingvideos as they have guides on how get tier 5, 6, 7 and even 8. Hope that helps
Theres more somber stones in the area where you fight Malenia. I think I got two there along with a shit ton of runes. Plus you can get the final somber stone bell there so you can purchase 8 and 9 stones. To get there you have to use the secret medallion at the elevator to the giant lands. One piece you get from a dude hiding as a pot in the southwest area of Liurnia. The other you from the castle in the northwest part of the Giants lands. It allows access to a hidden part of the giant lands once you have both pieces of the medallion. This is also where another deathroot is located, but you have to jump onto an invisible floor to get to it. Once you go up the secret lift head north until you reach this village. There's a spot that you can activate and you need to go turn on all the lanterns in the area(in these towers for the most part). Once all four are lit you can take a teleporter to where Melania is located. Just fight your way through a boss and a bunch of tanky enemies and you will eventually reach her deep down at the roots of an erdtree.
Have you tried comparing Ordovis blade with Gargoyle black blade? I have more fth than str so not sure if BB will be better. What are the scale ratings for Ordovis at +10? Thnx
Lighting in any area with water also do bonus splash dmg. Making them even more dangerous at Lunaria
You forgot one my guy. Scarlet Aeonia. A scarlet rot incantation, you can pretty much fly towards enemies turning into a flower that blooms with major damage, meanwhile anything touching the flower or caught in the explosion gets scarlet rot build up
its worse then rotten breath, one if you get touched you fall and stagger, two its damage is not nearly as consistent, and 3 its harder on the fp cost. it is not a good spell

That sword made a lot of things easy mode. Almost stopped using incantations completely.

Im level 207 now, got all achievements except for the alternernate ending and one weapon I dont have access to unless I play again. Im collecting and upgrading everything I can before NG*. Good thing I found out you lose your bell bearings before resetting. These incantations look awesome, theres a few I still dont have!

Rot breath is imo the strongest incantation in the game. When boosted correctly is melts everything and my rot ticks for 100ish which is absolute madness. Throw in a mimic tear to duplicate you and its gg.
Standard rot so soooo good. Especially since all the base spells can be used on a horse

I really was hoping there would be more powerful versions of it like in dark souls, but it is one of the most useful quick incantations to shoot off. If they added the lightning spear radagon does that explodes in dlc or something that would be awesome.

Just enough to use the weapon you want. You get the vast majority of your damage off faith scale. For both weapons and incantations.
There isn't a seal that covers them all that I know of.
@@masonpope9015 erdtree seal covers them all. It doesn't have any bonuses to certain types, but it has three damage types while all the others have two. It gets physical, the normal incantation scaling and holy damage. It only scales off of faith though, but it was still increasing my damage considerably up until I hit 80 faith.

I was power stancing a holy greatsword and a fire greatsword. I used Golden Vow and Flame, Grant Me Strength at the same time and I was doing 5k plus to the head on the Rite Deathbird. It was honestly insane.

A few months ago I came to this channel for the BL3 content but I stayed for Elden Ring.
Oh should also add Stone of Gurranq to the list. I beat Margot first try and radann fourth try just throwing boulders at em. It also does heavy posture dmg and can down bosses and stun lock enemies and aoe kills if close while only costing 15 FP and 13 faith.
Also using the golden order seal +9 with A Rank Int/Faith scaling which is around 295 incant at 30 int and 49 faith
If you are going that route then dont forget to get the prince of deaths staff. It does the A/A split as well. Best staff for int/faith builds.

I have been wondering about this, but I think the golden order seal is probably the best seal in the game. Though, only when you have the levels to invest into both stats.

@@IceNinja18 oki got the erdtree seal and it looks like if ya go straight faith it is stronger. At 70 faith and a +8 erdtree it’s 319 scaling where golden order +9 with my 30 Int and 48 faith was 311.
However I think both are best depending. If ya want to use weps like the katanas or night and flame sword or have some options regarding Int gear then go golden order.
Side note: I believe if ya doing a strength/faith build then godslayer seal would be like golden order in terms of best since scales on both
With fireball incantations I am them myself to increase their range. Not sure if many people know you can undo the auto lock and aim higher they will be thrown farther, the range is significantly farther on fireball incantations than you think if you just take it into your own hands.
I love the red lightning glaive for those mobs tbh.
So far it seems intelligence and incantation builds are the most powerful. I'm running a glass cannon mage at the moment at level 93. But seeing these different builds is super interesting. Amazing stuff!
also arcane bleed builds. pure str/dex seems kinda lacking compare to the others
@@prodbyyungtrav The game clearly wants you to do hybrid builds, that's why most items scale with multiple attributes. Some people don't want to adapt and they have trash builds because of it. Pure faith/Int is trash in pvp.

Might incorporate some bleed spells in there because bleed and rot are crazy together

How did you get enough runes to get that high
Worth noting is that I think the dragon communion incantations scale with arcane not faith, so the spells like rot breath and draglords ruin are scaling off arcane. The talisman for dragon communion incantations has S scaling in arcane and either D or C faith scaling so just a heads up.
the spells scale off what ever your catalyst scales with they just have arcane requirments if you are not using the seal that scales off arcane no spells will scale of arcane
The actual incants scale off of Faith, it's just the the Dragon Communion Seal scales mostly with Arcane.
What people said above. If you're focusing on arcane though, you'd be using the dragon communion one anyways. But the good thing is, while the passive effect damage increase won't affect other spells, you'll be able to scale stuff that isn't dragon breaths with arcane too. My build has 12 slots and i literally am having trouble deciding what to put in
None of the spells in this game scale. There damage is based off of your catalyst.
@@rightousnesspursuer6523 agreed, took me a while to realize that just because I got a new incantation doesn't mean it's better than the one I got towards the start of the game. What determines if a spell is good is a lot of factors(cast time, range, accuracy, etc) and preference, but if you want to do damage then you need to upgrade your seal.
Hey Moxsy, don't know if you have it yet, but when you finish Alexander the Iron Fist questline you get a talisman that greatly increases the skill damage.
As a 99 faith sunlight spear poise caster in ds3 player I appreciate this

Best incarnation is discus of light it travels far and the lowest fp consumption. U can get up to 2000 damage in seconds with the speed u can send 3 to 4 disc at a right angle could mean hiring 6 to 8 times
I was so stubborn about doing a specifically strength/faith build that I didn't put any points into arcane so I never used any of the dragon spells.
I would be curious to see the beast incantations with the Clawmark Seal + Cinquedea Dagger (read it's descriptions "Raises potency of bestial incantations"). They both raise the potency of bestial incantations. But same with all the other incantations you've shown. There is a seal for every type of incantation, and there is a very strong one for Frenzied Flame incantations for doing Hyetta's questline (the grape lady trying to become a finger maiden). I think the damage would be more insane by using all the appropriate items to buff each incantation type

The black blade doesn't scale with the godslayer talisman since it's actually an erdtree incantation

FGMS also boosts physical damage even if you dont cast fire spells. Its so good
