- ‘I’ve never seen anybody do what he just did’ - Brandel Chamblee left in awe at Tiger's trick!!!
Ahead of the final round of the PNC Championship on Sunday, Woods was on the practice green and tossed his golf ball on the green and somehow made the ball stop dead in its tracks!!! 😳
A stunned Chamblee remarked:
“I’ve seen Tiger do some amazing things, as we all have, but I’ve never seen him do what he just did!
I don’t even know how he did it! I mean, I’ve never heard of anyone spinning the ball like that, but he’s throwing these balls out on the green and snaps ’em back - I’ve never seen anybody do that.”
In total disbelief, the Golf Channel analyst then compared Woods’ trick to another he had seen in the past: “We’re standing on the tee waiting for the group in front of us, and he takes a tee and he’s got it in his hand and he throws it at the ground and it sticks in the ground,” then he picks it up and did it again! I was like, give me that tee. Is that a weighted tee or something? So I tried it and I couldn’t do it." - But I spent the next three, four months getting to where I could do it. The key, you got to snap it just right, and you got to release it just right. I was so proud of that move. You know, I’d do it every now and again and somebody would go, well, how do you do that? I’m like I’m not telling you!
But that pales in comparison to throwing a golf ball out onto the green and getting it to spin back.”

@@RollYourRock I'm in New England under snow at the moment ☺️👍 the issue I had the other day was with the greens still being frozen they don't receive the spinning ball well at all lol. I think for me it'll be early spring before I can attempt this on video and show it successfully if at all 😉

that is correct. it is his middle finger and he is snapping the ball out as if he is snapping his thumb and middle finger when people snap their fingers...this makes a downward hard spin on the ball, making it stop almost instantly.
Dude gets more RPMs backspin with his fingers from 7 feet than I do with a rusted 58° from 110 yards😂

@@SilverloafGolf I think it depends on the greens too, it needs to be in good condition and fine cutted then maybe it can spin like that. I will try in summer next year for sure

I tried it 2 days ago after seeing Tiger do this and it seems impossible to generate that much spin. The pinch between thumb and pointer finger plus the wrist flick.... I'm curious how long it took for Tiger to master this little trick, pretty impressive

Chamblee has been one golf analyst who has not been afraid to criticize Tiger so probably sucking up a bit to keep his job. As we all know the golf world revolves around Tiger Woods even though he’s won two tournaments in the last 8 years if not mistaken. Tiger is arguably the GOAT but the torch has been passed !
I believe he won three tournaments in fairly short order shortly before Covid, but I get what you're sayin...

I always do this on my hard wood floor and it sucks back if decent angle is right LOL. Just something about a little extra sauce on a golf ball that just makes you feel good.

@@BuffaloNickel9 what would how good I am have any leverage on my ability to post a video? If you're going to be a smart ass remember the most important part, be smart. This is very simple and yea I was doing this when I was 9 or 10 years old. All your doing is putting english on the ball. Place the ball between your index, birdie, and thumb. When u toss the ball do it as if u are trying to snap yoyr fingers. Not hard at all. Had I not grew up on the golf course, played since I was 7, #2 seed on my hs team, had smaller college scholarship offers this still would be an easy one to figure out. Try it, I guarantee you'll be doing it no problem in 5 minutes.
I would say it's tough, but then I'd be lying to you guys. ...the fact is that it's quite easy.. The trick is to do a finger snap with the ball between your thumb and your middle fingers. Rotate your wrist in the same direction as both fingers and ball, and you'll get that back spin.
I'm sure it's one of those things that's very easy once you know how...
