As a former golf caddie (but not on the PGA tour), I am biased. But Matt Kuchar will always be my least favorite golfer. Not because he stiffed his caddie at the golf tournament he won in Mexico. But because he did it deliberately because he though he could get away with it. He knew EXACTLY what he was doing (when he shorted the pay of his caddie) and I am sure he figured the caddie would be 'happy' to get the $5,000 instead of the $50,000+ he was owed. The thing is many people don't realize is, caddie's pay their own expenses (including travel expenses), AND if the player doesn't finish in the top 10, the money the caddies get paid often isn't worth it. I realize nobody is forcing these people to caddie, but when the golfer wins they need to pay their Caddies the Full amount (whether the Golf Tournament is in the United States or not)
Not just that but go back and see how he treated his caddie, Lance Bennett. Lance’s wife died. He needed to take care of his young daughter and Kuchar fired him. Kuchar is garbage.
Here's the drill: 1. If it was anyone other than Tiger that got in those messes, they'd be off the Tour permanently. 2. I've been to 100+ Tour events, you'd be surprised how many guys are douches when the camera isn't on. 3. They're there to make MONEY, not friends. 4. Caddies are treated like dirt, especially at the most private clubs. 5. If DJ wasn't a top draw, he'd have been suspended much longer. 6. They ALL take advantage of every rule they can, and things get heated after rounds behind closed doors. 7. EVERY player would have gone to LIV if the offer was significant (except those that have made 100 million). 8. Might be true - but I also think each time something like this happened, his ex-wife was having a baby by another man.
